One night stand with my president (chapter 324)

Chapter 324: Who's Messing with My Daughter?

Hearing this voice, everyone turned toward the source.

"Mr. Thomson!" Anna called out excitedly, though she kept her voice low.

The newcomer was none other than Harrison.

Without sparing a glance at anyone else, he walked straight to Adeline.

"Are you alright?" he asked.

Adeline shook her head. "I'm fine."

After confirming that she was unharmed,

Harrison's gaze shifted to Manuel, who had been yapping moments earlier.

Manuel froze, utterly terrified.

While Russell might be intimidating, at least they were relatives.

Harrison, on the other hand, had no such connection, and he could deal with Manuel in a heartbeat if he wanted to.

Desperately, Manuel looked toward Rogelio for help.

But Rogelio was too consumed by the thought of losing his and Jasmine's baby to pay him any attention.

Rogelio forced himself to maintain some semblance of composure and awkwardly greeted Harrison. "Mr. Thomson."

"Mr. Hunter," Harrison replied coldly. "Your family matters are none of my concern, but you've dragged someone under my protection into this mess. Don't think I'm someone you can push around."

Under normal circumstances, Rogelio would have spoken to Harrison with the utmost courtesy.

But today, after losing his child, his emotions were a wreck, and his restraint was nowhere to be found.

"Mr. Thomson," Rogelio said, his tone sharp, "my wife is lying in the operation room, and our child is gone. Miss Hensley was in the same room as her. Who's to say she didn't do something?"

Harrison's expression darkened, his eyes cold as ice.

"Be careful with your accusations," he said.

"Words have consequences. Since you're so certain, let's call the police and have them investigate."

Manuel's face turned pale at these words.

He thought, "Police involvement? That will ruin everything if the truth came to light."

"Rogelio, maybe calling the police isn't the best idea," Manuel said hurriedly. "Jasmine just lost her baby. How could she handle being questioned by the authorities?"

Rogelio winced, realizing his rashness.

He should not be antagonizing Harrison at a time like this.

"I apologize, Mr. Thomson," Rogelio said, swallowing his pride.

"You're apologizing to the wrong person,"

Harrison replied curtly.

Rogelio gritted his teeth and turned to Adeline.

"I'm sorry, Miss Hensley."

Adeline didn't bother responding.

She thought, "Rogelio must be out of his mind."

Just then, another nurse emerged from the operating room. "Jasmine is awake," she announced.

Rogelio, forgetting everything else, rushed inside without another thought.

With Rogelio gone, Manuel tried to shrink into the background.

But Anna wasn't about to let him off the hook so easily.

"Mr. Thomson," Anna began, pointing at Manuel, "he's the one who's been badmouthing Miss Hensley nonstop. It's absolutely unacceptable."

"That's not true!" Manuel protested. "I didn't say anything like that!"

He wasn't even targeting Adeline. His aim was Russell.

Jasmine had promised him that if he helped her, he'd have a share of the Hunter family's fortune in the future. Of course, he was all in.

"Oh, really? I heard it all!" Anna shot back.

"Are you crazy? I'm your boyfriend!"

"Boyfriend? My foot!" Anna snapped.

"Consider yourself dumped. You conniving little weasel, just wait until Mr. Thomson deals with you."

Manuel was stunned, his face a mixture of disbelief and fear.

He turned to Harrison, practically begging for mercy with his eyes.

But Harrison simply said, "It's not my place to intervene."

As soon as he finished speaking, the sound of approaching footsteps filled the hallway.

Adeline turned to look and saw Isaac stride in, his expression stormy.

"Let me see who dares to mess with my daughter," Isaac said, his voice low and menacing.

"And who are you?" Manuel asked cautiously.

"You don't know?" Anna said with barely concealed glee. "This is Mr. Mendoza. Oh, and by the way, he's Miss Hensley's biological father."

Manuel's legs nearly gave out beneath him.

He had vaguely heard rumors about Adeline reuniting with her biological parents, but he hadn't paid it any mind. It didn't seem relevant to him.

Now, however, her father was standing right in front of him, ready to take action.

All the confidence he'd drawn from Jasmine's and Rogelios backing evaporated.

Alone and vulnerable, Manuel panicked. He thought about running into the operating room to hide.

But Isaac was quicker, grabbing him by the collar.

"Oh, so you're the punk messing with my daughter, huh?" Isaac growled.

"No, sir, I wasn't! I was just... just speaking about what I saw."

Isaac smacked him on the head.

"What did you see?"

Dazed, Manuel stammered, "I... ..." Isaac hit him again.

"What did you see? Speak!"

Manuel was so disoriented he couldn't form a coherent sentence. All he could think was how strong this man's hand was.

saac was furious.

He and Gracie had been in Alberto's hospital room, unaware of the chaos outside.

A nurse had mentioned in passing that Jasmine had been brought in after a miscarriage.

Isaac had felt a pang of pity but hadn't thought much of it.

Then the nurse added that it involved Adeline.

Isaac's blood boiled.

As soon as Gracie heard this, she panicked.

Isaac, fearing she'd rush over and start fighting with them directly, and worried about Alberto being alone in the hospital room, urgently told her to stay behind and keep him  company. He himself rushed over in a hurry.

As soon as he arrived, he overheard someone saying that Manuel had been targeting Adeline all along.

He couldn't stand that.

He wouldn't allow anyone to target his precious daughter.

"I'm asking you a question. What did you see?"

Isaac pressed on.

He kept interrogating Manuel.

Manuel was terrified out of his wits. He could only say, "Well... actually, I was outside the private room at the time, so I didn't really see anything...

"Didn't see anything? Then why the hell did you stick your nose in?" Isaac slapped him again.

"I was wrong!" Manuel whined, face ashen.

"I won't do it again. I swear!"

He was just a guy following orders! And yet, somehow, he ended up taking all the blame.

Anna watching from the side was thoroughly

But Adeline couldn't find any joy in the scene.

No matter how it played out, Jasmine's child was really gone.

She knew full well that neither she nor Russell had anything to do with it.

But once the word got out, no one knew how it would be twisted. In the world of the rich and powerful, most people just craved gossip, and no one would bother to seek the truth.

And by then, she and Russell would become the subject of everyone's whispers.
