 Chapter 298: She Doesn’t Want to See You

After hanging up the phone, Eleanor immediately got up, instructing Halle to pack the bags quickly while she herself carefully freshened up.

Halle went to Eleanor's wardrobe to pick out outfits for her.

"Don't forget to bring my red dress," Eleanor reminded her as she applied her makeup.

She originally planned to have her makeup artist come to her house.

But since Benjamin urged her to get to the manor immediately, Eleanor had to do it herself for now.

She could have her makeup team head to Castlewill Manor a bit later.

This time, she was determined to make a stunning impression in front of Harrison.

She wanted him to see that she was just as captivating as Adeline.

Halle paused at her request and then replied, "But that red dress is so thin. It's not really suited for this weather. It'll be cold."

"Just pack it like I said. Stop talking so much," Eleanor replied, shooting her a cold look.

Halle fell silent, carefully packing the red dress.

She thought to herself, "Oh well, it's not me who'll be freezing." She couldn't understand why Eleanor was so adamant.

It wasn't unusual for Eleanor, a celebrity, to dress up meticulously whenever she went out. Still, Eleanor hadn't told Halle where they were going.

After finishing with the clothes, Halle asked,

"Miss Fraser, where exactly are we going?"

"No need to ask so many questions. Just follow me," Eleanor said.

Halle's heart skipped a beat. She felt uneasy.

Eleanor had no reason to withhold their destination.

Halle thought, "Where are going? What's Eleanor planning?"

She thought about sneaking a message to Adeline later, just in case.

However, Eleanor kept her busy with more tasks.

By the time Halle was done, Eleanor was also ready.

The car was already waiting outside.

She had no choice but to get in the car with Eleanor With Eleanor by her side the whole time, Halle hadn't had a chance to contact Adeline.

On the way, Eleanor instructed her, "Call the makeup team and have them head to Castlewill Manor."

Halle quickly made the call, now realizing where they were going.

Halle thought, "Why is Eleanor suddenly heading to Castlewill Manor? It's the Thomson Group's resort. Is this about Harrison?"

Upon arrival at Castlewill Manor, she got busy arranging rooms for Eleanor's makeup team.

Once she was done, Eleanor turned to her and said, "Hand me your phone."

Surprised, Halle handed it over and then asked, "Miss Fraser, why do you need my phone?"

Eleanor took the phone, barely looking at her as she replied, "No reason. I'll just hold onto it for now."

For some reason, Eleanor had felt a hint of suspicion towards Halle on the way.

Although she doubted Halle would have the nerve to betray her, Eleanor couldn't risk it this time.

Other than her phone, Halle hadn't brought any other communication devices.

Now that Eleanor had taken her phone, she planned to keep Halle close at all times.

Once she became Harrison's woman, she wouldn't have to worry about anything.

Eleanor waited in her room, anticipating a call from Benjamin, but he didn't call her.

Meanwhile, Benjamin sat in his car outside the hospital.

He knew Adeline was inside.

And he had heard the news. Adeline was, in fact, the long-lost heiress of the Mendoza family.

That meant she was Alberto's  biological sister.

No wonder Alberto had been so protective of her that day.

If the Mendoza family supported Harrison, things could get complicated.

Frowning, Benjamin stepped out of his car, carrying a bouquet as he walked into the hospital.

He had found out which room Alberto was in.

He wanted to show the Mendoza family that he loved Adeline more than Harrison did and that he was the better choice for her.

But as he exited the elevator and took a few steps toward Alberto's room, a group of bodyguards suddenly appeared around the corner, blocking his path.

Simultaneously, Benjamin's own men stepped in front of him, squaring off with the bodyguards.

Benjamin raised a hand, signaling his men to

back down.

"Are you with Harrison?" he asked.

Georgia stood at the head of the bodyguards.

With a cold expression, she replied, "We're not letting you see Miss Hensley."

"And why is that?" Benjamin sneered. "Why does Harrison get to decide if I can see Miss

Hensley?"

Georgia replied, "Because Miss Hensley doesn't want to see you."

Benjamin was speechless.

Georgia's blunt response struck him like a blow to the chest.

But Benjamin wasn't one to lose his composure so easily.

He chuckled, saying, "Well, I came to see Mr.

Mendoza today. Regardless of my relationship with him, I have every right to visit. How does the Mendoza family's business concern you?"

Georgia fell silent.

She genuinely didn't know how to respond to that.

"So, step aside," Benjamin said.

Georgia still refused to move.

Since Harrison had ordered her to keep Benjamin away from Adeline, she wasn't about to let him get close to her.

Seeing Georgia's stubbornness, Benjamin's gaze hardened, a flash of hostility in his eyes.

Just then, Adeline's voice sounded from behind Georgia.

"Let him come through."

Startled, Georgia turned to look at Adeline, puzzled.

"Miss Hensley, are you sure?"

Adeline smiled. "If he's here to see my brother, let him through."

In broad daylight at the hospital and with her parents nearby, she didn't believe Benjamin would dare try anything.

Besides, Georgia and her team were standing guard.

Harrison's orders to Georgia equaled her own wishes.

Since Adeline had spoken, Georgia reluctantly stepped aside to make way for Benjamin.

Benjamin signaled his men to stand down and then walked toward Adeline alone, looking at her with intense emotion.

"Adeline..."

Adeline found his tone unbearable and the way he said her name unsettling.

Her expression turned cold as she turned and walked ahead, saying, "Aren't you here to see my brother? Follow me."

Benjamin was thrilled to finally see

Adeline and exchanged a few words with her. 

At the same time, he followed her closely.

They entered Alberto's ward together.

Isaac's and Gracie's expressions soured as soon as they saw Benjamin.
