Chapter 330: Late-Night Rendevous with a supermodel

"What happened to Harrison?" Adeline's heart skipped a beat.

Afraid something bad had happened to him, she didn't read carefully and clicked on the news link immediately.

Once she opened it, she realized it was a gossip article.

"Harrison's Late-Night Rendezvous with a

Supermodel: Spotted Entering Hotel Together."

The article included photos.

Adeline stared at them.

It was indeed Harrison.

In the photos, he was walking into a hotel with a tall, statuesque woman.

The woman's side profile was visible, and she seemed to be smiling faintly.

Adeline stared at the photo for a long time.

She was so lost in thought that she didn't notice Gracie approaching her.

"Adeline, what's wrong?"

Hearing Gracie's voice snapped Adeline out of her thoughts.

She quickly put her phone away and forced a smile, saying calmly. "Nothing."

"It's time to leave. Have you said goodbye to your aunt?"

"Yes."

Gracie could sense that something was off about Adeline.

She guessed it had something to do with Harrison.

Thinking for a moment, she spoke gently.

"Adeline, we don't have to rush back to Yewhaina. Even if we return on Christmas Eve, it's the same. If you have something to handle, we can stay a couple more days."

Adeline shook her head. "We've already decided to leave today. There's no need to change plans. I'm fine. Let's go."

The calmer Adeline seemed, the more Gracie

suspected something was wrong.

People often say mothers have a special connection to their daughters. Gracie could tell when Adeline wasn't fine.

"I'm really fine." Adeline linked her arm with Gracie's and smiled, "I'm just excited to finally visit home. I'm really happy, Mom. Let's go."

Over the past couple of days, Adeline had grown used to addressing Gracie and Isaac affectionately.

Hearing her call her "Mom" made Gracie's heart burst with joy, But she still worried about Adeline's mood. "If anything's bothering you, just tell me. It's okay."

"Really, I'm fine. Let's go."

Across from the airport, Harrison sat in his car, staring at the bustling entrance, his expression complicated.

His phone suddenly rang. Seeing Sam's name on the screen, he answered.

"What is it?"

"Harrison, I saw the news. What's going on?" Sam asked in shock. "Even if you had a fight with Miss Hensley, there's no way you'd take another woman to a hotel!"

Harrison's face darkened. "Shut up."

It was all fabricated by those gossip media outlets.

"Didn't you have a gathering last night? If I'd known, I'd have gone too. At least then I could've kept an eye on you," Sam said helplessly.

Harrison was too annoyed to respond.

"Right now, you need to think about how to explain this to Miss Hensley," Sam said.

"This is all over the internet. She must have seen it. If she misunderstands, what will you do?"

"I've already had the articles taken down,"

Harrison replied.

"Ugh, in this day and age, you think you can silence everyone? Impossible."

A hint of bitterness crossed Harrison's face.

He didn't care about what strangers online

thought. It wasn't true anyway.

What mattered was what Adeline thought.

But she hadn't contacted him at all.

Like Sam said, she must have seen the news.

"Shouldn't she be calling to confront me? Or did she no longer care?" Harrison thought.

The thought made Harrison feel worse.

Harrison thought again, "Maybe she is too angry to reach out. Maybe she is waiting for my explanation."

Harrison knew the Mendoza family was leaving for Yewhaina today, so he had arrived at the airport early to wait for her.

He wanted to chat with her.

It had only been two days since their last fight, but it felt like an eternity.

He wanted to reach out to her but didn't dare, afraid she was still angry.

Thinking of how she had defended

Russell that day, he felt his own anger flare up Last night, he'd gone out with friends to take his mind off things, but it had backfired, leading to those misleading photos.

He planned to explain everything to her in person.

She was the only one he cared about. He wouldn't even spare other women a glance, let alone go to a hotel with them.

Just then, several cars pulled up at the airport entrance.

The Mendoza family had arrived.

Harrison saw Adeline step out of one of the cars.

After not seeing her for two days, he realized how much he missed her.

Just watching her from a distance, he felt an overwhelming urge to pull her into his arms.

He reached for the car door handle, ready to step out, but froze when he saw a tall figure approach her.

It was Russell.

Harrison's face turned icy.

He thought, "Why is Russell here? Is he here to see Adeline off? Did she ask him to come?"

Sitting in his car, Harrison stared intently at the scene.

He saw Russell say something to Adeline, and then she smiled.

The thought of her smiling like that at another man made his chest ache unbearably, especially since that man was Russell.

Of all people, it had to be Russell, the one he minded most.

Ronan was just a kid.

Benjamin was a lunatic.

But Russell was a normal, accomplished man.

He and Adeline shared similar experiences and could easily empathize with each other.

Harrison feared Adeline might have a place for Russell in her heart.

He wanted to get out of the car, rush over, and put himself between them.

But remembering the look she'd given him the other day when she defended Russell, his courage faltered. All he could do was watch as Russell and Adeline finished their conversation and she entered the airport with her family.

Adeline was gone, but Russell stayed, seemingly lost in thought.

Harrison clenched his fists tightly.

At that moment, his phone rang again. It was Rowen.

"What is it?" he asked, his tone cold.

Rowen hesitated, sensing the dangerous edge in Harrison's voice.

He regretted being the one to call. Maybe Georgia should've done it.

"Uh, Mr. Thomson, all the gossip articles have been removed," Rowen reported.

"Good."

"Also. the Snider familv issue has been resolved."

"Good."

Rowen didn't know what else to say.

The tension in Harrison's voice made him shiver.

For once, Rowen wished Adeline was around.

She always knew how to handle Harrison.

Thankfully, Harrison ended the call without saying more.

When Rowen heard the disconnect tone, he sighed in relief.

Georgia returned with coffee just then, noticing Rowen's pale face. "What's wrong?" she asked.

"Mr. Thomson is terrifying right now," Rowen said, shuddering.

Georgia handed him a cup of coffee. "Is he? He seems fine to me."

Rowen took a sip and muttered, "You're a robot.

Of course, you wouldn't be scared."

Georgia responded with a simple, "Oh."

Rowen had no words for her.
