One night stand with my president(chapter 267)

Chapter 267: He Should Appear Soon

Marshall's father was adopted by Lorenzo's younger brother.

Marshall and his father, Frankie, had always kept a low profile and had little presence within the Thomson family.

Now Milania couldn't leave and had no way to contact the outside world.

If she could make use of Marshall, it might be a good solution.

After all, Marshall had never been involved in Thomson family matters and seemed quite naive.

Plus, if he did something, no one would notice him.

The more  Marshall thought about it, the more feasible the plan seemed.

So she sighed and said with a bitter smile, "Come to think of it, my situation in the Thomson family must be the worst right now.

I was framed and confined here, and even my son trusts others more than me. It's really..."

As she spoke, a few tears rolled down her

cheeks.

Marshall quickly took out a tissue and handed it to her.

"Milania, don't be sad." Marshall comforted her.

"I've heard about your situation. You are being wronged?"

"Of course," Milania said while wiping her tears.

"I knew it," Marshall sighed. "I remember when I was a sickly child, a servant used to call me a sickly boy behind my back. You heard it and scolded them, and then you gave me a little cake."

Milania did not remember any of this.

But since he mentioned it, she just went along with it.

"Actually, I've always liked you since you were a child," Milania said. "You've always been cute and well-behaved. If it weren't for your health issues, you would definitely be an elite in the Thomson family now."

Marshall smiled and said, "You flatter me. By the way, since you're wronged, why don't you try to defend yourself? Now you've been confined here. When will it end?"

"I've tried to defend myself," Milania said.

"But who will listen to me? The person who framed me is Harrison. Who would stand by me?"

"Harrison?" Marshall frowned. "Could there be some misunderstanding?"

"What misunderstanding could there be? He brought someone and claimed I harmed his secretary," Milania said. "I said I didn't do it, but no one believes me, or rather, no one is willing to offend Harrison for my sake. Even my husband and son refuse to support me."

"You've really suffered," Marshall said. "I think Harrison must be mistaken. He will clear your name eventually. Besides, it's really strange that Harrison targets you over a secretary if you did nothing wrong."

Milania said, "Miss Hensley is quite important to him. I don't know why he's trying to frame me. Now I'm trapped and can't contact the outside world. My friends can't reach me and must be very worried."

Marshall looked at her sympathetically and said, "Milania, you've suffered. If you need any help, just let me know."

Milania felt a glimmer of hope.

That was exactly what she wanted to hear.

But she still said, "Don't push yourself. Your health isn't great. I might not trouble you."

"Don't worry. I'm feeling much better now," Marshall said. "I still cough a lot sometimes, but ! don't want to see you being wronged and worried. Just let me know what you need."

"Alright then... You're a good kid," Milania said.

"I'll let you know if I need anything."

She didn't immediately ask Marshall for anything, fearing it might be too obvious.

"Okay."

"You should go back now. It's cold outside, and you've been exposed to the wind for so long. It's bad for your health," Milania said.

Marshall said, "Alright. You should also go back and rest. Be careful not to catch a cold."

"Alright, don't worry," Milania said.

Marshall returned to his residence.

His father, Frankie, immediately handed him a warm cup of water and asked, "How did it go?"

Marshall took a few sips of water and said, "I met Milania. As we expected, after chatting a bit, she tried to enlist my help for her plans."

"That's good," Frankie said with a smile.

"Let's help her then."

"Once the truth comes out, we'll just be the pitiful ones used by her."

Marshall and Frankie had always presented a non-confrontational image to the outside world.

No one would suspect them of deliberately helping Milania.

"I wonder if Milania can be of any use," Frankie said. "Do you think she can outmaneuver Harrison?"

Marshall thought for a moment and shook his head. "It's difficult, but if she can at least weaken Harrison a bit, it could pave the way for our  future “

"You're right."

"By the way, Dad, Milania also mentioned Adeline," Marshall said.

Frankie replied, "After all, Harrison's investigation into her is mainly because of Adeline."

Marshall said with a smile, "It seems Adeline is really important to Harrison now. And everyone knows their relationship is quite special."

"Adeline is now Harrison's biggest weakness," Frankie said. "Looks like our bet was successful after all..."

"But it seems Harrison doesn't know the whole truth yet."

"No rush. That person should be showing up soon."

After work, Adeline and Harrison went to the hospital together.

They first visited Lacey.

After the surgery, Lacey was recovering well and in good spirits.

When she saw Harrison, Lacey kept expressing her gratitude.

Harrison said softly, "You don't need to be so polite. You're Miss Hensley's family, which means you're my family too. It's my duty to do these things for you."

At his words, Adeline's ears turned slightly red.

Lacey smiled at her and then said reassuringly to Harrison, "I trust you with Adeline."

Adeline quickly whispered, "Lacey, what are you saying?"

"Alright, I won't say anything more," Lacey said with a smile.

Soon, her smile faded, and she looked concerned.

"Adeline, do you still have any news about your father?" she asked cautiously.

The smile on Adeline's face also faded.

She said. "No. I haven't seen him since he told me the truth about what happened back then."

She no longer owed Mateo anything, and she didn't want to deal with Mateo anymore.

She just let him fend for himself.

Lacey wanted to say more, but Bianca poured her a glass of water and said, "Mom, you've just had surgery, so don't worry about these things. You know what kind of life Adeline has had all these years. Even if he is her adoptive father, she has already repaid his 'kindness. Besides, he even helped others scheme against Adeline. Now she's just letting him manage himself. That's already very generous."
