One night stand with my president(chapter 204)

 Chapter 204: Amber is Dead

"What?" Ethan was surprised.

"I did hear that Mr. Juarez was injured, so it was that bastard who did it."

"But, Harrison, he's one of Jamarion's men..."

Ayden looked at Harrison with concern.

"Even if we find out who he is, Jamarion might..."

"It doesn't matter whose man he is. If he hurt my friend, he'll pay the price," Harrison said coldly.

Hearing this, Ayden seemed to make up his mind, nodded, and said, "Since Harrison has decided, we'll definitely help you find out who this 'Callan' really is."

"That's right. Harrison, don't worry. We'll find out this man even if it costs us our lives."

They all knew that Harrison had always treated them well.

Now that something had happened, there was no way they could back down.

As for Jamarion Green, he was indeed a tough man.

He climbed up from the very bottom, having gone through countless bloody battles. Now, his influence had spread far and wide.

That was why he didn't fear the Juarez family.

It was said that he was getting older and his methods weren't as ruthless as they used to be.

But still, few dared to risk crossing him.

However, now that Harrison needed them, they were determined to step in.

Besides, in their minds, Jamarion wasn't any stronger than Harrison.

They were just momentarily intimidated by the mention of Jamarion's name, having heard so many bloody stories about him.

But now most of them had calmed down.

The Thomson family and the Juarez family were different.

Backed by Harrison, even if Jamarion found out they were investigating 'Callan, he

couldn't do anything to them.

Harrison smiled and said, "Thank you all. But remember, your safety comes first. If anything happens, inform me immediately."

"Don't worry, Harrison. We're not rookies. We won't get into trouble easily."

"And even if something happens, we've got you to back us up."

Before long, the waiters began bringing the dishes one after another.

Harrison stood up and said, "You all enjoy. I have some business to attend to, so I'll be leaving now."

Everyone bid him farewell, and Ayden got up to follow him and Rowen out of the room.

"Harrison, Ethan's just a timid guy. Don't hold it against him," Ayden said with a smile.

Harrison glanced at him and said lightly, "Just this once, for your sake."

Although Ethan had eventually revealed what he knew, Harrison was still displeased with the time wasted.

"I understand. Don't worry, Harrison. This won't happen again," Ayden said.

"Keep an eye on him, and don't let him run his mouth."

"I know, but... Jamarion's influence is no small thing. If we're investigating Callan, he might find out soon."

"It's fine," Harrison said. "I'm waiting for him."

Anna sent someone to check on Amber's apartment.

There was no one there, and her neighbor said that Amber had left in the morning and hadn't returned since.

Anna immediately reported this to Adeline.

"Is she still not answering her phone?" Adeline asked.

"No, she hasn't picked up at all," Anna said nervously. "Ms. Hensley, do you think Amber

might have really..."

Adeline didn't want to think in that direction.

But given the current situation, it seemed very likely.

Just as she was about to call Harrison to inform him, a young assistant suddenly rushed over.

"Ms. Hensley, there's a call for you." the assistant said anxiously. "It's from the police."

Adeline's expression changed.

She walked over and picked up the phone.

After hearing what the officer on the other end said, she replied, "I understand. Thank you. I'll be there right away."

After hanging up, Adeline looked even grimmer.

Adeline thought, "Amber, that fool, has finally come to this."

Anna, who was standing behind her, saw her hang up and quietly asked, "What happened? Is it about Amber?"

"Yes," Adeline said. "The police asked me to come identify the body."

Anna's face turned pale.

She was now immensely grateful that she hadn't spread the word about overhearing Eleanor's and Amber's conversation, only telling Adeline.

"Ms. Hensley, could it really be that Eleanor..."

"Don't say anything more," Adeline whispered.

"I'll go to the police station first. If anything happens at the company, call me. And don't tell anyone about this for now."

"Don't worry, I know." Anna nodded repeatedly.

If Eleanor found out that she had overheard their conversation, Anna would end up just like Amber.

On her way to the police station, Adeline also informed Harrison about the situation.

Since there was a driver in front, she didn't want anyone to overhear their conversation, so she sent a message instead of calling.

Harrison replied, [If it was Eleanor, then she

acted quickly.]

Adeline said, [But this is still just our assumption. Even if something happened between them, it doesn't prove Eleanor committed a crime. And all Anna heard was their conversation. We have no evidence to show she really heard anything.]

Harrison replied, [Alright, don't worry. Go to the police station first. I'll be there soon.]

After all, Amber was a member of the president's office and had a rather "special" status. Harrison needed to go personally.

"Okay."

When Adeline arrived at the police station, an officer led her to see Amber's body.

After just one glance, Adeline turned her head away.

It was a gruesome sight.

It seemed Amber had suffered inhuman torture before she died.

"Is this Amber?"

"Yes, it's her."

Amber's face was still clearly recognizable, so Adeline identified her at a glance.

Amber's body was found by a river on the outskirts of town.

A passerby saw her body, panicked, and immediately called the police.

When the police arrived, they identified her through her phone and ID, but couldn't reach her family, so they called her workplace, the Thomson Group's president's office.

"Are you the deceased's colleague?" The officer asked again.

"Yes, we both work in the president's office at the Thomson Group."

"Do you know what her personal relationships were like before she died?"

"I'm not very familiar with her private relationships," Adeline answered truthfully.

The officer asked her a few more routine questions, and Adeline answered them all honestly.

Just then, Harrison arrived.

The chief personally received him and chatted with him for a while.

But at that moment, an officer rushed in.

The officer said, "Sir, Mr. Thomson, we've just found out that the last person the deceased saw before she died was..."
