One night stand with my president(chapter 219)

 Chapter 219 :Arguing

Harrison thought that Russell would definitely not just swallow his anger.

Sure enough, not long after, Russell sent another message, [ls that so? Did Ms. Hensley massage you?]

Russell, [You wouldn't be lying, would you?]

He sent two messages in a row, making Harrison's face turn pale with anger.

He was indeed lying. Adeline hadn't massaged him at all.

He quickly typed back, [Of course it's true, but you can't see that, so it's normal for you to be suspicious. After all, you're not at the Thomson Group and can't be with Ms.

Hensley every day like I am.]

Meanwhile, Russell in the Hunter Group was also turning pale with anger.

Harrison's words left him with no way to refute.

After all, Adeline was Harrison's secretary.

They were indeed together every day.

Russell was usually gentle and didn't like to argue, but at that moment, he suddenly felt defiant and insisted on arguing with Harrison.

Russell, [Well, you have been with Ms. Hensley every day for five years, but so what? Aren't you just in a superior-subordinate relationship?]

His words truly pierced Harrison.

Five years. A full five years.

What had he been doing all these five years?

Why hadn't he realized he liked Adeline sooner?

Harrison maintained a serious expression and replied, [As for my relationship with Ms. Hensley, you don't need to worry about it.

After all, you're just an outsider to both of us.]

Russell didn't reply.

Harrison thought he had defeated Russell and went back to his tasks.

In reality, Russell was just dealing with something suddenly and would respond to Harrison after finishing.

After Harrison was busy for a while, he checked his phone and saw Russell's message; then continued to reply.

Just like that, they went back and forth and ended up arguing for a whole morning.

No, it should be said they were bickering for a whole morning.

At noon, Adeline brought the lunch she ordered for Harrison into the office. As soon as she entered, she saw Harrison typing rapidly on his phone, his lips pressed tightly, looking quite unhappy.

"What's wrong?" She asked nervously.

"What happened?"

Hearing Adeline's voice, Harrison instinctively looked up and wanted to hide his phone.

If Adeline found out Harrison had been bickering with Russell all morning, she would definitely laugh at both of them.

It would be fine if she laughed at Russell, but she couldn't laugh at him.

Adeline immediately noticed Harrison's panic and saw him trying to hide his phone.

She raised an eyebrow and asked, "What secret are you hiding from me?"

"I'm not hiding anything," Harrison denied firmly.

"How could I do something bad behind your back?"

"Oh really?" Adeline placed the lunch on his desk and then reached out her hand toward him.

Harrison pretended not to understand.

"What's wrong?"

"Let me see your phone."

"That wouldn't be good." Harrison struggled.

"There's private stuff in there."

"I can trust you to give me my phone. Can't you trust me with yours?"

Once she said that, Harrison had no more excuses left.

He could only close his eyes and resignedly hand her the phone.

After Adeline took the phone, she immediately saw the chat interface between Harrison and Russell because before Harrison hid the phone, he forgot to log out.

"This is Mr. Hunter?"

Adeline looked at the chat records of their bickering, her eyes filled with disbelief.

The further she scrolled up, the more shocked she became.

"Wait, you two have been arguing like this for a whole morning?"

Looking at the time, it seemed Russell was busy for a while and then replied to Harrison, who was busy for a while before replying back.

Adeline thought, "Is this how big shots are? Even when busy, they don't forget to argue. And the way they argued was childish."

If someone were to screenshot these chat records and remove their profile pictures, Adeline would never guess this was a conversation between Harrison and Russell.

"He started it!" Harrison said with a straight face,"I certainly can't let him get away with it."

"What's the point of this?" Adeline said, half-amused, half-frustrated.

"I don't care. I still haven't finished sending my message. Give me back my phone."

Since Adeline had already seen it, Harrison simply decided to give up putting on airs.

"Don't reply," Adeline advised.

"What if the Thomson Group and the Hunter Group collaborate again in the future? Won't you two feel awkward?"

"That's fine." Harrison said confidently, "If we need to collaborate in the future, in front of him, I'll pretend today's events never happened. I think he'll feel the same."

Adeline was speechless and thought, "Why does it seem like he's quite proud of that?"

Looking at Harrison's impatient appearance, she could only give the phone back to him.

Harrison quickly edited and sent the message he had just typed, finally letting out a long sigh.

If he didn't reply to Russell, it would seem like he was admitting defeat.

He would care about that for a lifetime.

Adeline helplessly asked, "Mr. Thomson, don't you think you're being childish right now?"

"I know," Harrison said nonchalantly. "But it's fine, as long as I don't let Russell take the upper hand."

Adeline was completely defeated by him.

It turned out that even the most calm and rational person could have childish moments when in love.

Adeline didn't want to think of herself as a femme fatale.

But now it seemed that Harrison and Russell's arguing was indeed because of her.

"Arguing is important, but eating is also very important, right?" Adeline opened the lunch box for him. "Let's eat first; then argue after."

Harrison looked at the lunch box, frowning slightly.

"Why did you order this for me?"

"What do you want to eat?" Adeline asked,

vilal uu you want lu lat. muche aoncu,

puzzled.

"I wanted to go to the cafeteria with you,"

Harrison said sullenly.

She actually thought about that too.

But with all the rumors about her and Harrison already spreading around the company, if they went to the cafeteria together again, Adeline didn't know what they would be rumored about.

She didn't dare to mention this to Harrison, fearing he would get angry.

"I don't want to eat cafeteria food today," she said. "I've ordered takeout and don't plan on going to the cafeteria."

Harrison's eyes lit up. "Then bring your lunch in. We can eat together."

After all, he didn't like eating at the cafeteria. He just wanted to eat with Adeline.

Adeline thought about it. Since everyone else from the CEO's office had gone out to eat, no one would see her entering the CEO's office to eat with Harrison, so she nodded.

Harrison smiled happily. He even thought about taking a photo of them eating together to send to Russell.

But after thinking about it, he decided against it.

Even though he and Russell argued because of Adeline, if he did that, it would seem like he was showing off Adeline as a trophy.

He didn't want that. To him, Adeline had never been a trophy, but a treasure he wanted to cherish for life.
