One night stand with my president(chapter 197)

Chapter 197: Come and Serve Me Well

Although Joyce was worried and anxious, she knew what was most appropriate to do.

Since it was so late now, she wouldn't be able to help much and might even need Adeline to comfort her.

"Well, I'll check on him tomorrow. Adeline, if anything happens to him, you must tell me. Also, don't tire yourself out too much."

"Don't worry, and he will be fine. If anything does happen, I will let you know right away." Adeline reassured.

With her comfort, Joyce's heart eased a bit.

After hanging up, Harrison asked, "Was that your friend who just called?"

"Yes, my close friend," Adeline said this instinctively, and then suddenly realized a problem.

Harrison was so perceptive that he would surely notice something off from the conversation she just had with Joyce.

If he guessed that Joyce liked Sam...

But from what she knew of Harrison, he wasn't the type to talk much.

"Don't worry. I won't speak carelessly about other people's private matters." Harrison's voice came to her ear. "Matters of the heart are better left to her to speak about."

Hearing this, Adeline smiled.

"Yeah."

When Eleanor returned home, her face was still sullen.

The assistant, who was waiting for her in the living room, was so frightened by her expression that she didn't dare to make a sound and tried hard to lower her presence.

Her assistant was supposed to accompany Eleanor when she went out tonight, but Eleanor said it wasn't necessary, so she stayed at home.

The assistant thought, "Something must have happened while Eleanor was out, making her look so awful."

Fortunately, Eleanor didn't notice the

assistant and quickly went back to her bedroom.

Lance was lying on the bed in a bathrobe, playing with his phone, looking like he had just taken a shower.

Hearing the door open, Lance looked up and then raised his eyebrows, asking, "Honey, what happened? Who made you unhappy this time?"

"Adeline." Eleanor gritted her teeth.

"Adeline? Let me think... Oh, I remember now," Lance sneered. "She's the chief secretary around Harrison, right? Are you jealous of her again because of Harrison?"

Eleanor quickly said, "Of course not! Didn't I tell you? Tonight, Sam was injured and hospitalized. I went to see him and also to make an appearance in front of his parents to make a good impression."

"And then?"

"But Adeline was also there. She was against me at every turn and spoke ill of me in front of Mr. and Mrs. Juarez, causing them to become dissatisfied with me."

Thinking about Mason's and Regina's attitude towards her made Eleanor furious.

She felt that if it weren't for Adeline, they wouldn't have treated her this way.

Lance nonchalantly said, "Alright, stop being angry. The Juarez family isn't that impressive. You don't need to ingratiate yourself with that couple."

"But I just feel uncomfortable."

"If you're uncomfortable, how about I have someone deal with Adeline?" Lance suggested.

Eleanor quickly shook her head and said, "Not yet, or it might alarm her. Just deal with Amber for now."

"Don't worry. I've already arranged for it. It will be taken care of soon."

Hearing this, Eleanor felt a bit relieved.

She sighed deeply and said, "I'm going to take a shower."

Lance's lips curled into a playful smile.

"Go ahead, honey. After your shower, come and serve me well."

Eleanor felt a chill in her heart.

But in front of Lance, she dared not show it and could only smile ingratiatingly.

At around three in the morning, Sam woke up.

Harrison and Adeline hadn't gone to sleep yet.

Seeing him open his eyes, the two of them hurried to his bedside.

"You're awake. How do you feel?" Harrison asked.

"Harrison? What's going on?" Sam furrowed his brows, still looking dazed.

"You were attacked," Harrison said. "You almost died."

Adeline was speechless and thought, "Truly a good friend."

"Damn it!" Sam exclaimed angrily and then grimaced in pain.

"Take it easy," Harrison said quickly.

Adeline went to pour a glass of warm water and brought a cotton swab.

Harrison dipped the cotton swab in the water and wiped Sam's dry lips.

"Harrison, I didn't expect you to take such good care of me at this time. I'm touched. How about we spend our lives together..."

"Don't be disgusting," Harrison said with a look of disdain.

But he was relieved.

Sam was still joking, which meant he was truly fine.

"I knew you'd say that."

"Mason and Regina have been very worried about you. They're resting in the next room now," Harrison said. "I'll go get them."

"No." Sam instinctively reached out to stop him.

Harrison quickly stopped in his tracks.

"Mr. Juarez, don't move around. The doctor said not to let your wound open up," Adeline said anxiously.

"Okay, I understand... Harrison, don't call my parents. Let them sleep," Sam said apologetically.

Although the attack wasn't his fault, he felt guilty as his parents must have been very worried.

Normally, he was a source of trouble for them, and now...

Sam really felt guilty.

However, as soon as Sam finished speaking, the door of the ward was pushed open.

It was Mason and Regina who walked in.

They had just taken a nap but couldn't sleep well, waking up after a while.

When they came over, they saw that Sam was awake.

"Sam, you're finally awake..."

Regina's eyes turned red as soon as she reached the bedside.

Sam panicked and said, "Mom, don't cry. Ouch, it hurts so much."

"Alright, I won't cry."

Regina looked at Sam's painful expression and was heartbroken.

Mason didn't speak but breathed a sigh of relief.

"But how did I get attacked? Who wanted to harm me?" Sam asked angrily.

"I'll have someone investigate that. Don't worry. Right now, you need to focus on resting and taking care of your wound," Harrison said.

"Remember to follow the doctor's instructions."

Sam shrugged his shoulders and said, "I understand."

They had grown up together, and Harrison knew Sam well.

Now that he was injured, Sam certainly had many. But according to his character, he might not follow the doctor's advice.

However, since Harrison had spoken, he didn't dare to disobey.

"Harrison, Ms. Hensley, you've stayed with him for half the night, so you should rest.

We'll take over from here," Regina said.
