One night stand with my president(chapter 265)

Chapter 265: Stay with Her

Harrison stayed to see Adeline inside the house.

After everything that happened today, he really wished he could keep watching over her.

Once inside, he asked, "Are you hungry? Do you want something to eat?"

Adeline hadn't eaten much for dinner and was indeed hungry, so she nodded.

Harrison went to the kitchen.

Adeline sat on the sofa, watching Harrison's busy back.

At that moment, she felt a sudden sense of peace.

Despite the bizarre events of the evening, having him there made her feel calm.

Harrison made some vegetable porridge, and Adeline took a large bowlful.

After that, she felt a bit too full and found it hard to fall asleep.

"Go rest," Harrison said while cleaning up the dishes.

"I'm having trouble sleeping," Adeline replied.

She sat on the sofa, her mind occupied with thoughts of Alberto's accident.

She wondered how Alberto was doing now.

"Has he been out of danger?" Adeline thought.

After putting the dishes in the dishwasher, Harrison received a call.

The person on the other end said something that made his gaze darken, and he replied, "Okay, I understand."

After the call, he sat down beside Adeline.

"Rowen just called me," he said.

"Is there news about Alberto?" Adeline asked quickly.

Harrison replied, "Alberto is not in life-threatening danger."

Adeline let out a heavy sigh of relief.

"But.."

Just as Adeline was relieved, Harrison's next

words made her heart leap again.

"But what?"

For some reason, thinking about what he was about to say next made Harrison feel a pang of reluctance.

He said softly, "Alberto sustained a severe head injury. The doctors don't know when he'll wake up."

Adeline stared at him blankly, her hands trembling.

When Harrison reached for a tissue to wipe her tears, she realized she had been crying.

"I..." Adeline wiped her tears with her hand.

"What's happening to me?"

"Don't worry." Harrison comforted her.

"Alberto is the heir of the Mendoza family. With this kind of incident, his subordinates will definitely inform his parents. They'll do everything possible to ensure he's safe."

Adeline nodded.

Feeling a bit tired, she leaned her head against Harrison's shoulder, unable to resist.

Harrison appeared calm, but his heart was racing.

She was so close to him that he could faintly smell her delicate fragrance.

"In the quiet of the night, with just the two of us..." Harrison's Adam's apple bobbed as he thought of this.

He was a normal man, after all.

And the woman beside him was someone he liked.

It was impossible for him not to have any thoughts.

But he quickly suppressed those thoughts.

Adeline was in no mood for anything else, and his job now was to be there for her.

He couldn't let himself be distracted by such thoughts.

The two of them sat quietly together.

After some time, Harrison heard a steady

breathing sound from beside him.

He turned to look and realized Adeline had fallen asleep.

Perhaps the medication in her system hadn't completely worn off, and the effects had kicked in again.

Harrison carefully moved her head from his shoulder and then picked her up, carrying her back to her bedroom.

He gently placed her on the bed and covered her with the blanket.

Adeline was still sleeping soundly, and he couldn't bring himself to leave, staring at her peaceful sleeping face.

Not long after, Adeline suddenly furrowed her brow.

Harrison thought she was waking up.

But Adeline only kicked off the blanket.

Harrison was speechless.

He couldn't help but be amused.

She had barely been asleep for a while, and she already kicked off the blanket.

Harrison thought, "So, she is such a restless sleeper?"

He had no choice but to cover her with the blanket again and sit by the bed to keep watch.

Fortunately, she slept quietly this time.

In the morning, when Adeline woke up, the sky was still dark.

She yawned, checked her phone, and saw it was not even six o'clock yet.

At that moment, using the phone's light, she suddenly felt someone beside her bed.

She quickly shifted to the other side in alarm.

But soon, she realized the person sleeping beside her bed was Harrison.

Adeline was surprised that he hadn't left and even fell asleep by her bed.

It seemed he had been watching over her all

night.

Adeline felt a soft stir in her heart.

Not knowing when he had fallen asleep, she didn't want to wake him. She quietly got out of bed, found a blanket, and draped it over him.

Adeline thought, "He just fell asleep like this without worrying about catching a cold."

Thinking of this, Adeline went to the kitchen, took out some ginger, and began to slice it.

She wanted to make some tea for Harrison to drink when he woke up, to warm him up.

In addition, she baked some cookies.

Not long after, Harrison also woke up.

He rubbed his neck and looked up, noticing the bed was empty.

He was startled and immediately got up and left the bedroom.

Seeing the lights on in the living room and kitchen and spotting a familiar figure in the kitchen, he gradually relaxed.

Adeline, who was making tea, heard the noise and turned to smile at him.

"You're awake. I thought you might sleep a little longer."

Her voice and smile made Harrison completely relax.

"What are you doing?" Harrison asked.

"Making ginger tea," Adeline said. "You didn t have a blanket last night, so I wanted you to have something warm to drink."

"I don't know how I ended up falling asleep,"

Harrison said with a sigh.

He had intended to stay a little longer just to watch her and then go to the guest room.

He hadn't expected to fall asleep by her bed.

"Go wash up. There are some disposable toiletries in the bathroom," Adeline said.

"The ginger tea should be almost ready, and the cookies should be done soon."

“Okay”

When Harrison finished washing up and came out of the bathroom, Adeline had already placed the cooked ginger tea on the table, along with two cups.

"Have a cup first," Adeline said from the kitchen.

"I know you don't like sweet things, so I didn't add much sugar."

Harrison sat at the table and poured the tea as he said, "Actually, I can handle sweet foods now."

He found that the sweet taste wasn't too bad.

When he had drunk half a cup of the ginger tea, Adeline came over with two plates.

One plate had small cookies, and the other had sandwiches.

"This is our breakfast for today," Adeline said.

"After eating, we'll go to the office together."

"You don't need to go to the office today,"

Harrison said. "Take a day off."
