One night stand with my president(chapter 220)

Chapter 220: Why Should I Be Angry?

After lunch, Adeline felt a bit sleepy.

However, remembering that there were still many tasks to handle, she couldn't fall asleep, so she decided to go to the tea room to brew some coffee to stave off her drowsiness.

"Do you want coffee?" she asked Harrison before leaving the office.

Harrison replied while staring at his phone screen, "I want some."

Adeline's lips twitched a couple of times.

Harrison and Russell were still arguing.

Didn't they get tired of it?

She didn't expect to see several colleagues already back as soon as she stepped out of the office.

Moreover, as soon as she walked out, they all raised their heads in unison, staring at her intently.

Adeline felt helpless, annoyed that they had returned so quickly.

Now that they had seen her, they would probably start gossiping like crazy.

Adeline thought, "Oh well, let them gossip. I don't want to make it seem like I am having an affair with Harrison."

Upon entering the tea room, she thought that since Harrison had been arguing with Russell, he was probably in a bad mood, so she might as well make him some hand-ground coffee.

Just as she began, she suddenly heard the tea room door open.

She thought it was another colleague.

But the person walked right over to her.

When she turned to look, she found it was Harrison.

"What are you doing here?" Adeline asked in surprise.

"I came to help you," Harrison replied.

"What can you help me with? You should leave," Adeline said with a smile. "Don't forget, I'm still your secretary, getting paid.

These are all responsibilities."

She thought, "If we ended up together later...

Well, that seems a bit far-fetched."

Harrison remained silent, looking like he didn't want to leave.

"By the way, did the others see you when you just came in?" Adeline asked.

"What? They should have seen me," Harrison replied, not knowing why she was asking.

He had just walked in openly, so the others in the president's office would definitely have noticed.

Adeline thought, "Well, now they will think even more that Harrison is pursuing me."

After all, he had followed her into the tea room.

"What's wrong?" Harrison asked, noticing her strange expression. "Did they say something?" Seeing his expression darken, she hurriedly said, "No, just..."

Harrison waited patiently for her to finish.

After seeing Adeline hesitating for a long time without saying anything, he pitifully said, "Do you have a secret from me? I just showed you my chat history with Russell."

"Well, if I say this, don't get mad at them,"

Adeline finally said. "It seems a lot of people are spreading rumors that you are pursuing me."

After saying that, she felt a bit embarrassed herself.

Harrison, however, showed no expression.

"Oh come on, don't be angry. You know how people are. Gossip is human nature. I occasionally gossip with Joyce too."

"Why should I be angry?" Harrison asked.

Adeline was taken aback.

"What they said, um... is quite true,"

Harrison said.

After all, he did like Adeline.

Even if the whole world said he was pursuing Adeline, he wouldn't get angry.

In fact, he would love for the whole world to know that Adeline was the one he liked.

Adeline said, "You... I'm not talking to you anymore."

Adeline turned away to make the coffee, ignoring him.

If she didn't turn away now, he would see that she was blushing.

She didn't want to talk to Harrison or let him help.

Harrison had no choice but to stand by her side.

Meanwhile, the president's office was already in an uproar.

Everyone who had just been in the president's office saw Adeline enter the tea room, and then Harrison followed her in.

This had never happened before.

Those who had been skeptical about "Mr.

Thomson pursuing Ms. Hensley" began to believe it.

Harrison had followed her into the tea room.

Wasn't that chasing her?

"It has to be Ms. Hensley. She can make Mr.

Thomson so infatuated."

"I guessed it long ago. Ms. Hensley is so beautiful and capable that even I, as a woman, am nearly charmed by her."

"Most importantly, Ms. Hensley has this cool and aloof aura that perfectly complements her beautiful face. Truly captivating."

"When do you think Mr. Thomson will be able to pursue Ms. Hensley?"

"I think it should be soon. After all, Mr. Thomson is excellent too."

"That's not necessarily true. I think Ms. Hensley might have other suitors, and they might be on the same level as Mr. Thomson."

"Ahem, speaking of which, I actually have insider info, but I don't know if it's true..."

"Just say it."

"I heard that Mr. Hunter from the Hunter Group likes Ms. Hensley."

"Really? Where did you hear that from?"

"Just don't worry about it. It's just a rumor. I don't even know if it's true."

"If Mr. Thomson's competitor is Mr. Hunter, then I honestly can't say who Ms. Hensley would choose."

"Yeah, if it were me, I don't know who I should be with."

While the employees were discussing Harrison and Adeline's situation heatedly, Eleanor also caught wind of some news regarding it.

After all, she had a bit of a network.

A manager at the Thomson Group was a fan of hers and had bravely asked to add her as a friend during her last visit.

Eleanor thought that the manager might be useful in the future, so she agreed.

After adding her, the manager was very

respectful and never disturbed Eleanor.

However, this time he told her that now the company was buzzing with the rumor that Harrison was pursuing Adeline.

The manager shared this with Eleanor because he had previously noticed that Eleanor liked Harrison.

So he thought it was necessary for Eleanor to know.

Upon seeing the message he sent, Eleanor was so furious that she smashed her phone.

Eleanor thought, "Does Harrison like Adeline that much? The commotion is so big that even the people in the company know about it."

"Oh, what's got you so angry?" When Eleanor turned around, she saw Lance coming down from the second floor, looking at her with a playful expression.

She didn't dare to say she was angry because of Harrison and Adeline, so she could only reply, "It's nothing. I just saw a few haters insulting me, and I got angry."

Lance clicked his tongue and said, "You've been in the industry for so many years. What haven't you experienced? Why would you still care about haters?"

"Most of the time, of course, I don't care," Eleanor replied, awkwardly flipping her hair.

"I just couldn't control my emotions for a moment."

"Alright." Lance said nonchalantly, "Have your assistant buy you a new phone."

"Okay, I'll have her do it later."

Even though she was now in front of Lance, Eleanor still couldn't help but think about Harrison and Adeline.
