One night stand with my president(chapter 257)

Chapter 257: I'll Wait for You

Adeline didn't expect her classmate to organize the reunion so quickly, and the next day she sent Adeline the address.

Adeline's classmate said, [Adeline, it's at this restaurant, in room 302. Just come over after you finish work tonight.]

Adeline thought about it and, since she had nothing planned for the evening, replied, [Okay.]

Harrison was still hoping that Adeline might invite him to dinner.

However, when Adeline came in to deliver some documents, she told him she would be attending the class reunion.

As soon as she said this, she looked up and saw Harrison giving her a forlorn look.

He looked like a jilted lover.

For a moment, Adeline felt like she was the villain in the situation.

"I haven't seen my high school friends in ages," Adeline explained. "I remember the last reunion was four years ago. It's a rare opportunity to get together again, so I have to go." Harrison sighed and said, "Alright, go ahead. It's fine. I can manage on my own."

Adeline was speechless.

She really wanted to shake Harrison by the shoulders and make him snap out of it.

"I'll definitely take you out for a nice meal tomorrow night, Okay?" she said soothingly.

Harrison replied, "I don't believe you."

"I promise." Adeline said solemnly, "I swear."

Seeing her sincere attitude, Harrison finally relented.

Harrison said, "Let me know when it's getting late tonight, and I'll come pick you up."

Adeline said, "We might go karaoke after dinner, so it could be quite late."

"That's Okay," Harrison said. "I'll wait for you no matter how late it gets."

Hearing this, Adeline smiled slightly. She felt happy to hear it from Harrison.

"Is Miss Monroe coming with you?" Harrison asked.

"She's not coming," Adeline said. "We weren't in the same class in high school."

Harrison frowned slightly at this.

He wasn't quite comfortable with the idea of Adeline going alone.

It would be better if Joyce could accompany her.

Adeline noticed his concern and said, "Don't worry. My high school friends are perfectly normal, and with so many people there, nothing will happen."

She glanced at the class group chat and saw that they were already excitedly discussing tonight's reunion.

It was clear that the classmate who contacted her wasn't lying.

"Okay, that's good," Harrison said. "If anything happens, call me right away."

"Don't worry, I will."

After work, Adeline arrived at the restaurant her classmate mentioned, Her contact, Hannah Riddle, was standing at the entrance.

As soon as she saw Adeline, Hannah immediately approached, took her arm, and said with a smile, "Adeline, we haven't met for long. You're looking more beautiful than ever."

Adeline smiled and was a bit surprised.

Hannah had a decent relationship with Adeline in high school, but they weren't very close. After graduation, they had minimal contact, just occasional likes on Instagram.

Adeline thought, "Why is Hannah being so affectionate now?"

"Come on in. Everyone's almost here, just waiting for you," Hannah said.

Hannah led her into the restaurant's private room.

Adeline discreetly withdrew her arm and asked, "Did you wait at the door just for me?" Hannah chuckled and said, "Of course! Your current status is quite impressive. You're the chief secretary to the president of the Thomson Group. I had to wait at the door to show how much I value you."

Adeline's mouth twitched slightly as she thought, "So that's how it is."

But that was just how the world worked.

After everyone left school and entered the workforce, reunions could take on a different tone.

As Adeline and Hannah entered the private room, a classmate adorned in dazzling jewelry was boasting about her diamond ring.

"This ring was custom-made by my husband abroad. It's the only one in the world. I told him it was a waste of money, but he insisted it was our second wedding anniversary gift..."

Sitting next to her was a classmate in a suit, who smiled proudly and said, "After all, we've been together for so many years. Now that I've made some money, I naturally want to give her the best."

The other classmates chimed in, saying how happy they were for them. It was not easy to go from school uniforms to wedding dresses as a couple.

Adeline remembered that the man and woman were Jason Steele and Abbie Sawyer, her high school classmates. After the college entrance exams, they got together and married two years ago. They had sent Adeline an invitation when they got married, but she couldn't attend due to work.

Now, seeing them, Adeline felt that they were quite different from their high school selves.

At that moment, someone noticed Adeline and immediately said, "Isn't that Adeline? So good to see you!"

As soon as this person spoke, everyone's attention turned to Adeline, who had just walked in.

"Adeline's here. I heard her job is going really well now."

"Don't you know? Adeline is now the chief secretary to the president of the Thomson Group. That's no ordinary position."

Adeline smiled and greeted evervone before

finding a vacant seat.

"Adeline, what's it like working with Mr.

Thomson? Do you feel a sense of nervousness?" someone asked curiously.

"Adeline, what's Mr. Thomson like? Is he very aloof?"

"Adeline, do you have a high salary now?"

Adeline, being used to various social events with Harrison, handled the situation with ease.

She chatted naturally with everyone but didn't disclose any private details.

Meanwhile, Jason and Abbie, seeing that everyone's attention was on Adeline, felt a bit displeased.

They exchanged glances.

Then Jason said, "By the way, I saw some gossip news recently. It said that your relationship with Mr. Thomson was unusual. Is that true?"

Abbie smiled slightly and added, "No wonder Adeline can be the chief secretary at such a young age. Given how beautiful she is, it's

not surprising Mr. Thomson noticed her."

With their remarks, the atmosphere grew a bit awkward.

The lively chatter of the classmates had suddenly quieted down.

Some looked at Jason and Abbie with discontent, while others watched Adeline with interest, waiting for her response.

Their insinuation was clear. Adeline's current position was all due to her looks.
