Chapter 214: Speculation
Ronan shook his head and said, "No."
Ashton said, "Then how could she..."
"Dad, don't think too much. Maybe she's just in a bad mood because I'm still hurt and haven't recovered."
Ashton sighed and rubbed Ronan's head, saying, "It's all my fault for not protecting you well."
Ronan smiled and replied, "Dad, what are you talking about? I'm not a child anymore."
After a pause, he continued, "By the way, Dad, I want to go home. I don't want to stay in the hospital in Marifort City anymore. I've rested for these few days and feel better. I should be able to fly."
Ashton hesitated a bit, mainly worried about Ronan's health.
"Dad, I don't know anyone in Marifort City, and I feel bored. I really want to go home," Ronan pleaded.
"Then let me ask the doctor first," Ashton said. "If the doctor says you can go home, then I'll take you back."
"Okay." Ronan nodded. "But about Mom..."
"Don't worry. If the doctor agrees, I'll talk to your mom."
"You're the best, Dad," Ronan said.
"You little rascal."
After Milania left the hospital room, her phone rang again.
She hurried to a safe passage, cautiously checked around, and when she saw no one, she answered the call.
"Didn't I tell you not to call me first?" Milania said angrily. "Do you know my husband is right next to me?"
The man on the other end of the phone was silent for a moment before coldly saying, "He's there?"
Milania felt uneasy. "What do you want?"
"Just right, I've been wanting to meet him."
"You're crazy. I warn you, if you dare to show up in front of him, I will never forgive you."
"But you're my woman." The man was also angry.
"You've been by his side for so many years and even had a child with him. What about me? What am I to you?"
Milania felt very troubled.
She already gave him benefits before, but he was still not satisfied.
If it had not been for wanting to keep him around to help her, Milania would have already...
"Why are you always so impatient?" Milania suppressed her irritation and coaxed him.
"Our current patience is all for the Thomson family, right? If I confront him and get a divorce now, I'll only get a little money at most. Don't you want the entire Thomson family?"
"I don't want anything. I just want you..."
"But I do," Milania interrupted him. "If you love me, then you should help me fulfill my wishes; not keep causing me trouble."
After she said this, the man indeed fell silent.
After a while, he said, "Anyway, you already have a son. Even if your husband dies, you can still stay in the Thomson family, right?"
Milania was startled. "What do you want?"
"Since he's in Marifort City, what do you think ! want?"
"No," Milania said immediately.
"Why, can't you bear to part with him?"
"Are you insane? He's Lorenzo's son, Harrison's uncle. If he dies in Marifort City, do you think Lorenzo and Harrison will just let it go? They will find you sooner or later."
She was keeping the man around to deal with key figures.
How could she waste it on someone like Ashton?
Moreover, because of the hotel fire incident,
Harrison had already sent people to investigate in Marifort City, so it might not be long before they trace it back to this man.
It would be better for them to stay low for a while.
"Don't act rashly, or else you'll never see me again." Milania said painfully, "One of my key people has died, and I'm already very upset.
Please don't add to my troubles, Okay?"
Milania pleaded with him, and the man finally gave up on those thoughts.
After hanging up, Milania rubbed her temples, feeling a headache.
Milania thought, "How did Amber die?"
She had worked so hard to place someone beside Harrison, and now Amber was dead.
It would be difficult to find such a good opportunity again in the future.
However, she could indeed use Amber's death to do something.
When she came out of the safe passage, she saw a familiar figure hurriedly walking towards Ronan's ward with some fruit.
She immediately called out, "Wait a minute.' Isaline turned around and saw Milania,
instinctively feeling a bit nervous.
After all, the last time she visited Ronan, Milania's attitude towards her was not very good.
"Why are you here again?" Milania asked unhappily.
Isaline nervously replied, "I... I just wanted to check on Ronan again.”
"He's doing fine now and doesn't need you to visit him." Milania stepped in front of her, raised her chin, and said, "Also, don't think I don't know what's on your mind. I've seen many women like you."
Isaline was a bit confused. She didn't understand what Milania meant by that.
Milania continued, "You want to take this opportunity to get close to my son and the Thomson family? That's just a daydream."
"I'm not." Isaline hurriedly said, "I've never thought that way. I'm truly grateful to Ronan. If it weren't for him, I don't know what would have happened that night. The last time I said I'd give myself to him, I was too impulsive. But even if he wasn't from the Thomson family, I would still feel that way. I'm grateful to him not because of his background."
Milania looked at Isaline coldly, completely not believing what she said.
Isaline took a deep breath, mustering her courage to say, "You don't know me at all. How can you speculate about me like this?"
"You dare to..."
Before Milania could finish her sentence, the door to Ronan's ward was suddenly opened.
It was Ashton, who had heard Milania talking to someone and came out to see what was going on.
"Are you Ronan's friend?" Ashton asked kindly.
"You came to see him? Please come in."
Isaline thought this must be Ronan's father, so she thanked him and walked into the room, leaving Milania standing there, fuming.
Adeline woke up in the middle of the night.
Originally, she was still a bit sleepy, but suddenly all the recent events rushed into her mind, and she immediately became wide awake.
Since she couldn't sleep anymore, she simply got up and went to the living room to drink a glass of water.
After drinking water, she sat on the sofa and looked at her phone.
Joyce had sent her a message around midnight, but she had already fallen asleep and hadn't seen it.
Joyce: [Adeline, what should I do? I'm really worried about him and want to be by his side to take care of him, but l'm afraid that if I go too often, it'll disturb him.]
Adeline sighed heavily.
Joyce had fallen in love.
Adeline replied: [He's really fine now, and his parents have hired several reliable nurses to take care of him. You don't need to worry.]
It was already past two in the morning.
But Joyce replied immediately: [I know, but I still can't feel at ease if I can't see him with my own eyes.]
