Chapter 221: Deal With Lorenzo
"Do I have to watch them together?" Eleanor thought.
But Eleanor didn't know what to do now. Her plan to win over Myra had already failed, and she was even warned by Lorenzo not to approach Harrison again or to take any action against Adeline.
She was still very afraid of Lorenzo.
Eleanor thought, "If only Lorenzo would disappear from this world..."
As soon as this thought crossed her mind, she suddenly remembered something and looked sharply at Lance.
Lance was sitting on the sofa, playing with his phone, oblivious to her gaze.
A glint of excitement flashed in Eleanor's eyes as she stood up, walked over, and sat on Lance's lap, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"Oh, why so affectionate all of a sudden?" Lance asked with a half-smile.
"What do you mean? When have I not been
affectionate towards you?" Eleanor smiled flirtatiously.
"Come on, do I not know you?" Lance scoffed.
"Spit it out, what do you want me to help you with this time?"
"Darling, can you help me deal with someone again?"
"Again?" Lance hesitated a bit. "It's only been a few days. Have you gone crazy?"
"Oh, please." Eleanor pouted at him. "I know you're the best at this. It's just a small matter for you, right?"
Lance enjoyed hearing Eleanor praise him, which made him feel good inside.
"Who do you want to deal with this time?" Lance asked.
"The person this time is someone of significant status." Eleanor said cautiously, "It's Mr. Lorenzo Thomson, Harrison's grandfather."
When he heard this, Lance's expression instantly changed.
However, Eleanor didn't notice, continuing to talk and exaggerating. "That old man has been terrible to me ever since I didn't go abroad. Every time he saw me, he would
humiliate me. When I went to the Thomson family this time, he was still rude to me. I find him annoying. Darling, I know it's risky to ask you to deal with him, but since he's so old, could you come up with a way to make it look like he died of natural causes? You... Ouch!"
Before she could finish, Lance suddenly pushed her hard, sending her sprawling to the ground.
Eleanor fell to the floor, instinctively screaming; then looked up at him with an aggrieved expression. "What are you doing? You hurt me."
Lance, however, showed no sympathy, even raising his hand as if to slap her.
Eleanor was terrified and quickly closed her eyes.
But Lance ultimately couldn't bring himself to do it. He just said angrily, "Do you know what you just said? You want me to kill Lorenzo? Do you want me to die? Do you want to drag the entire Tillman family down with me?"
"I... I didn't mean that." Eleanor opened her eyes and shook her head repeatedly. "I didn't mean it. I just wanted you to help me get revenge..."
"Shut up!" Lance shouted angrily. "I don't care if there's some kind of grudge between you and Lorenzo, but let me tell you, it's impossible for me to help you deal with him."
Eleanor was daydreaming. She didn't know what kind of a person Lorenzo was.
How could Lance ever get close to Lorenzo?
Eleanor suggested making it look like Lorenzo died of natural causes.
He could think of a way to do that.
But he would probably be discovered as soon as he started to implement it.
Although the Tillman family was powerful and far away in Mugroaton, if he made an enemy of the Thomson family, there would be no good outcome.
"I'm sorry," Eleanor said pitifully. "I thought you were powerful, and I thought I was important to you. I didn't expect... Never mind, just forget I said anything."
"Don't give me that." Lance sneered, "If I hear you say that again, I will hit you."
Eleanor stood up silently from the ground, but she was very angry inside.
Eleanor thought, "He is always talking big about how powerful he is. But he's actually just a coward."
If she asked him to deal with Harrison and Adeline, he wouldn't dare either.
After all, Lance could only act against someone like Amber.
But Eleanor didn't dare say anything. Lance was already in a bad mood. If she said the wrong thing again, it would only get her into trouble.
At that moment, Lance's phone rang.
When he saw the caller ID, Lance's face turned darkened, seeming a bit impatient and nervous.
He cursed in Mugroatonian before answering the call.
He used Mugroatonian throughout the conversation.
But Eleanor had been in Mugroaton for five years, so she could understand everything.
From Lance's words, she could tell that the caller was likely his brother, the eldest child of the Tillman family.
Actually, his brother was the heir of the Tillman family.
Lance, as the second child, would inherit a significant amount of wealth but would certainly receive far less than his brother.
At first, Eleanor had wanted to flirt with Lance's brother.
But he didn't even pay attention to her.
She didn't dare to be too bold, fearing that Lance would notice, so she gave up.
Now, she couldn't help but think that if she had ended up with Lance's brother, he would have done much more for her than Lance could.
After chatting for a while, Lance hung up the phone, looking even worse than before.
"Are you alright?" Eleanor asked boldly.
"My brother wants me to go back home," Lance said angrily. "He said he already knows everything I'm doing here. It's ridiculous. I came all the way here, and he could still find out so quickly what I was doing. When can I escape his control?"
"What? You're going back?" Eleanor exclaimed, "No, darling, I can't bear to part with you!"
Lance shot her a glance and coldly replied,
"Enough, you don't need to start acting now. He hasn't given me an ultimatum yet. I can still stay here for a while."
Eleanor awkwardly smiled.
She actually wanted Lance to leave.
After all, he was no longer able to help her.
His staying here would only restrict her.
But since Lance had said that, she would endure for a while longer.
She thought to herself, "Harrison, Adeline, just wait. I will definitely not let you two have it so easy, absolutely not..."
As quitting time approached, Harrison called Adeline into his office.
He had her sit on the sofa and then sat down beside her.
"I want to tell you two things," he said.
Adeline's heart raced at the thought of asking him to help with the paternity test.
"Yeah, go ahead."
