Chapter 217: ls Mr. Thomson Pursuing You?
As soon as they entered, several employees from the president's office started gossiping in their chat group.
"Did you all see that? They just came in together."
"It seems they had breakfast together."
"Maybe Mr. Thomson went to Ms. Hensley's place to pick her up."
"I just heard Mr. Thomson tell Ms. Hensley to go to the office to help her check her phone?"
"What does that mean? Is Mr. Thomson going to buy Ms. Hensley a new phone?"
"Whatever it means, I'm about to explode from the excitement."
This news quickly spread from the chat group.
Now, everyone in the company was even more confused that Harrison was pursuing Adeline.
After Adeline handed her phone to Harrison in the office, Harrison connected the phone to the computer and began checking it.
Not long after, he said, "Your phone has definitely been infected with a virus, and it's a professional job. This type of virus won't be removed even if you restore to factory settings."
Adeline nodded and said, "I suspected as much."
After all, someone tampered with her phone without even having physical access to it.
What she felt relieved about was that fortunately, there was no important company information on her phone.
Otherwise, it might have already been leaked.
Harrison's fingers flew over the keyboard again.
After a while, he said, "I've cleared all the viruses from your phone. You can use it now.
I still need to trace the source of the virus, so your phone will stay with me for now."
Adeline was surprised.
He cleared the virus so quickly and was going to trace its source.
She suddenly started to doubt the truthfulness of Harrison's "I know a little."
"Don't worry, I won't check your privacy. If anyone calls, I'll let you know," Harrison added.
Adeline came back to her senses, shook her head, and said, "I'm not worried about that. I am just curious that... Do you just know a little about fixing the phone?"
"Maybe I know a bit more than just a little,"
Harrison said with a smile.
Adeline thought to herself that he was being too modest.
She exited Harrison's office, just sat down at her own desk, and opened her computer when Anna suddenly sneaked over.
"Ms. Hensley..."
"You came at the right time. I was just about to ask you something," Adeline said. "Why does everyone seem so strange today? Did something happen?"
"Well, Ms. Hensley, did you have breakfast with Mr. Thomson this morning?"
Adeline nodded.
Anna's eyes lit up when she saw Adeline nod.
"So, is Mr. Thomson pursuing you?"
Hearing this, Adeline gasped in surprise.
"Who told you that?"
"A lot of people saw you at the breakfast shop this morning," Anna said excitedly. "Someone said that Mr. Thomson took special care of you and looked at you with deep affection."
Adeline's scalp tingled, and she didn't know how to explain because what Anna said was true.
"Also, I heard that your attention was entirely on your food, and you didn't even glance at Mr. Thomson. So, people in the company speculate that Mr. Thomson likes you, but you don't like him, which is why he's pursuing you." Adeline was speechless.
"Something seems off. But it seems to be the case," she thought.
Adeline regretted it immensely. Had she known, she wouldn't have eaten at the breakfast shop near the company this morning.
"Ms. Hensley, what's going on between you and Mr. Thomson? I want to know. Can you tell me? I promise I won't tell anyone."
Adeline helplessly said, "Stop gossiping and get back to work. If Mr. Thomson finds out, he'll definitely be angry."
"Come on, if you don't say anything, how would Mr. Thomson know?"
Anna's curiosity was piqued. Seeing Adeline at a loss for words, she asked, "Then let me ask one question. Are you two together?"
Adeline thought for a moment and said, "No."
She and Harrison hadn't officially established their relationship.
"Oh, well."
Anna looked quite disappointed as she sulked back to her seat.
She was now consumed with thoughts of when the couple she shipped would become a real couple.
Meanwhile, Harrison in the office was still tracing the source of the virus.
He wanted to find out the other party's IP address.
But the other party was clearly an expert in this field, so it might take some effort.
Just then, Adeline's phone rang.
He turned to glance at Adeline's phone screen.
His gaze then fixated on it because the caller ID showed "Mr. Hunter."
The one marked as "Mr. Hunter" by Adeline was most likely referred to Russell.
Harrison thought, "What is this guy calling Adeline for?"
After all, Russell was Harrison's rival, and Harrison immediately became alert.
He wanted to answer the call directly and tell Russell to stop contacting Adeline from now on.
But after thinking it over, he called Adeline in instead.
After all, this was Adeline's privacy.
Since he liked her, Harrison had to respect her.
After Adeline came in, the phone rang.
Harrison thought to himself that Russell was persistent.
"Who's calling?" Adeline asked casually while walking to his desk.
"I don't know," Harrison said with a stern face.
Adeline froze and wondered, "What is going on? Why is he suddenly upset?"
In a flash, she seemed to realize something.
She walked to the desk, picked up her phone, and indeed saw that the caller was Russell.
No wonder Harrison was unhappy.
After thinking it over, she gently ruffled Harrison's hair and then answered the call in front of him.
"Mr. Hunter."
"Ms. Hensley, how have you been lately?" Russell asked gently.
"Pretty good," Adeline said.
Actually, she was not very well.
But she didn't need to complain to Russell.
Although she agreed to be friends, she still needed to maintain some distance since she
didn't like Russell.
Russell was silent for a moment and said, “I've heard about what happened recently."
First Sam got injured, and then an employee from the Thomson Group was murdered.
Since Sam was Harrison's friend and Adeline was Harrison's chief secretary, Russell was worried that there might be some connection with Adeline.
As for Amber, it was even more related to Adeline.
So Russell wanted to ask Adeline if she needed any help.
Most importantly, he hadn't contacted Adeline since returning from Marifort City.
He wanted to know how she had been doing lately.
He had to have a reason to contact her.
"Yeah. Pretty much has happened lately."
"If you need my help, just let me know," Russell said.
Before Adeline could say anything, she heard Harrison hiss, and then saw him rubbing his wrist with a blank expression.
