One night stand with my president(chapter 213)

 Chapter 213: Paternity Test

Just now, Adeline suddenly learned the fact that she was not her mother's child, and for a moment, she found it hard to accept.

However, she had now calmed down.

Harrison held Adeline's hand and softly said,

"Even though she is not your biological mother, her love for you is real."

"Yeah, I know," Adeline replied.

Her fingers gently traced the photo.

If only her mother were still alive, then her childhood wouldn't have been filled with so much hardship.

"Can you do me a favor?" Adeline asked.

Harrison smiled and said, "Do we still need to say such things? What do you want me to help you with?"

"I want to do a paternity test with Mateo," Adeline said.

Harrison raised his eyebrows in surprise. "Do you suspect that Mateo is not your biological father?"

"That's right." Adeline said.

She felt that Mateo's words couldn't be fully trusted.

She had always wondered how a father could treat his daughter this way.

After Adeline just learned that she wasn't her mother's biological child, a thought suddenly popped into her mind.

Adeline thought, "Could it be that Mateo also has no blood relation to me?"

Perhaps the reason Mateo only mentioned

Adeline's mother was that he was afraid she would care less about him if she knew they were not related by blood.

"I understand." Harrison nodded. "You give me a hair, and I'll have someone collect his hair for the test."

Adeline nodded and instinctively pulled a hair from her head, yanking it out completely, and gasped at the sudden pain.

Harrison was heartbroken and quickly rubbed her head gently.

"Are you silly?" He couldn't help but say.

"Can't you just look in the bathroom?"

"I didn't think of that at the moment,"

Adeline defended herself. "Besides, I always keep the bathroom clean, so I can't find any hair."

Harrison helplessly shook his head, unwilling to scold her further, and asked, "Does it still hurt?"

"Much better."

Adeline took another bag and put the hair inside, handing it to Harrison.

To be honest, she hoped that Mateo was not her biological father.

That way, she would have no ties to Mateo anymore.

Harrison took it and said to her, You should rest well. Don't think about anything else. I'm here."

The simple three words, "I'm here," inexplicably reassured Adeline a lot.

"I know," she replied.

After Harrison left, Adeline took a shower and then curled up on her big bed looking through the album.

It recorded many happy moments she had with her mother.

As Adeline looked through it, her eyes turned red again.

She really missed her mother.

After leaving Adeline's house, Harrison immediately handed Adeline's hair to Rowen and asked him to collect Mateo's hair for the paternity test.

"It needs to be expedited. The sooner, the better," he told Rowen.

"Got it.”

After giving the instructions, Harrison sat in the car, tapping his index finger lightly on the steering wheel.

Amber's death was too sudden. The person behind her must be caught off guard now.

Soon, that person should surface.

In the hospital, Ronan lay half-reclined on the hospital bed eating an apple, while Milania sat by the bed, her expression darkened as she stared at her phone.

"Mom, is something wrong?" Ronan couldn't help but ask. "I've noticed you've looked unwell."

Milania came back to her senses and quickly put away her phone, smiling as she said, "It's nothing.

I just heard that Sam had an accident, and I thought Harrison would be worried since they are close friends."

Ronan was taken aback and quickly asked, "Sam? What happened to him?"

"What are you rushing for? Someone tried to hurt him, but he's fine, just sustained some injuries, and is out of danger now," Milania explained.

• "Your injury isn't fully healed yet, and you're already worried about others."

"It's not a big deal," Ronan replied nonchalantly.

"How is it not a big deal?" Milania said unhappily.

"How can you not care about your own health and only think about others?"

"I..."

Before Ronan could say anything, the door to the ward was suddenly pushed open.

A middle-aged man walked in. It was Ashton Thomson, Ronan's father.

"Dad," Ronan called out happily.

Ashton responded and walked to the bedside, his face filled with concern. "Look at you, how did you end up like this?"

"Oh, I'm fine," Ronan said. "Just some minor scrapes."

Milania snorted, saying, "Your son has been hurt for several days, and you only just show up? Is this how a father behaves?"

Ashton rubbed his temples and said helplessly, "There have been issues at work lately. I've been too busy. I just found the time today to come."

"How big can that broken branch office be? What could possibly be so urgent?" Milania said with a stern face.

Ashton fell silent and did not respond.

To outsiders, Milania always appeared gentle and kind, but after living with her for so many years, Ashton understood her temperament well.

In truth, she had always looked down on him for not being ambitious enough to manage anything more than a branch office.

But he felt that he was doing well now. He knew his limits and that if the Thomson Group were handed to him, he wouldn't manage it well.

All he wanted was for the three of them to be together, living a stable life.

Ronan tried to mediate. "Mom, don't say that.

Dad's branch office has been doing well. If there's an issue, it should be handled promptly. Dad, you must bé tired from coming all this way. Sit for a while."

Ashton sat down beside Milania.

He intentionally wanted to ease the tension with Milania, smiling at her and asking, "Have you eaten dinner yet?"

"No, with my son like this, how could I have the heart to eat?"

"Then I'll go out and get you something to eat."

Ashton immediately stood up.

Just then, Milania's phone suddenly rang.

When she saw the caller ID, her expression changed, and she quickly declined the call.

"Why aren't you answering?" Ashton casually asked.

"Just an advertisement call. Why do you care so much?" Milania snapped.

Ashton was taken aback.

He didn't expect his casual question would upset Milania so much.

Milania seemed to realize that she had overreacted.

Her tone and demeanor softened as she stood up and said, "You must be tired after just arriving; just rest. I'll go out and get something to eat."

"But..."

"No buts. just sit down."

After saying this, Milania left.

The door to the ward slammed shut with a bang, and Ashton couldn't help but ask Ronan, "Why do I feel like your mom is acting strange? Did something happen in Marifort City again recently?"
