One night stand with my president (chapter 252)

Chapter 252: He Must Have Her

When he heard her words, Lance's expression softened a little.

But when he took the jacket and saw the size on the label, his face instantly darkened.

"Is this the jacket you bought for me? This is not even my size," Lance shouted angrily and threw the jacket on the floor.

Eleanor was startled and quickly picked it up to check.

Indeed, it was not the size Lance would wear.

She cursed her assistant in her heart.

Eleanor had clearly instructed her, yet her assistant still bought the wrong size.

Seeing Lance's grim expression, Eleanor was terrified. She knew she was about to face his anger again.

After leaving Eleanor's home, Benjamin got into the car parked outside.

"Mr. Tillman, Lance still refuses to go home with you?" asked the subordinate in the passenger seat.

Benjamin did not answer, only leaning back in the seat and closing his eyes.

The subordinate continued, "Eleanor has stirred up trouble with the Thomson Group, which means she has offended Harrison. If Harrison finds out, he will definitely make things difficult for Lance."

"Eleanor..." Benjamin said coldly, "She is something. She keeps Lance hanging while also entangling Harrison."

"But from what we know, Harrison doesn't seem to like her much. He's more attentive to his secretary," the subordinate said as he handed Benjamin a tablet.

On the tablet was a photo of Adeline.

Benjamin took it and lazily opened his eyes.

However, when he saw Adeline's photo, his pupils instantly constricted, and he blurted out, "Whitney?"

The subordinate sighed, "When I saw Miss Hensley's photo, I also thought she looked very much like Whitney."

Benjamin stared at the photo of Adeline, his finger gently tracing her face.

The image of a girl's smiling face appeared in his mind.

She was his one true love.

She was so wonderful and pure, and Benjamin loved her so much, but in the end, she was gone.

For a moment, when he saw Adeline's photo, Benjamin thought that Whitney had returned.

But now, coming back to his senses, he realized that the woman in the photo was not his Whitney.

Benjamin thought, "This woman does resemble Whitney quite a bit, but she's not Whitney,"

Even though he knew this, a strong desire still arose in his heart.

He wanted to meet Adeline.

He thought, "It must be fate taking pity on me for losing my true love, bringing a woman who closely resembles Whitney into my life."

The subordinate, who had followed Benjamin for many years and knew him well, immediately understood his thoughts upon seeing his expression.

After hesitating, the subordinate reminded Benjamin, "Mr. Tillman, this woman is Harrison's secretary, and Harrison seems particularly attentive to her. I think there might be..."

"I want to see her." Benjamin seemed to not hear him. "I must meet this woman."

He not only wanted to see her but also to have her.

Regardless of who her boss was or what her position was, Benjamin had to have her.

The weekend passed, and Joyce's illness had improved significantly.

On Monday morning, Adeline and Joyce were getting ready to go to work.

Harrison called Adeline, saying he was already downstairs at Joyce's place.

"You and Miss Monroe should come down together. I'll drop her off at her workplace on the way," Harrison said.

Adeline hung up and told Joyce that Harrison was waiting downstairs.

Joyce was astonished and gasped in surprise.

"How could I deserve Mr. Thomson's ride to work?" Joyce said, clutching her chest.

"Why don't you go down first, and I'll take the subway to work."

"He's already downstairs, so let's just go together," Adeline said. "Anyway, your magazine and the Thomson Group are on the same way."

Joyce went down with Adeline, feeling both nervous and excited.

She never expected that in her lifetime, not only would Harrison treat her to a meal, but he'd also give her a ride to work, even if she was just the tag-along.

If word got out, she could brag about this for the rest of her life.

The two of them went downstairs and got into the car.

Harrison was driving himself, without a chauffeur.

Adeline originally wanted to sit in the back with Joyce, but Joyce insisted that Adeline sit in the front passenger seat.

Joyce knew that Adeline wanted to consider her feelings, but if they both sat in the back, it would make Harrison look like a driver.

Joyce wouldn't be that thoughtless.

Adeline wanted to say that Harrison wouldn't care about that at all.

But Joyce insisted, so Adeline didn't say much more and opened the passenger door to take a seat.

After Joyce got in, she politely said, "Mr.

Thomson, thank you so much for this trouble."

"It's nothing," Harrison said with a faint smile.

"Since you're Miss Hensley's friend, you're my friend too."

Hearing Harrison say this, Joyce was even more thrilled.

But she managed to maintain her composure on the surface.

Her mind was blank, and she didn't know how to respond.

Luckily, Harrison didn't mind her lack of response and soon started the car.

"Have you had breakfast?" Harrison asked.

"Yes, I had some noodles after I woke up," Adeline said. "What about you?"

"I haven't eaten yet."

"Then I'll order breakfast for you later," Adeline said.

The two of them chatted naturally in the front.

Joyce watched from the back, increasingly feeling that they seemed like a married couple with many years together.

Their conversation was so natural.

Sometimes, those involved were too close to see the obvious, but outsiders could clearly see it.

Soon, the car stopped in front of Joyce's

magazine office.

Joyce bid farewell to the couple and got out of the car.

As soon as the car drove away, Joyce turned around and saw a colleague standing nearby, eyes wide open.

"What's wrong with you?" Joyce waved her hand in front of her colleague.

"Joyce, that car..."

Her colleague was stunned for a while before finally completing her sentence. "The license plate number... I didn't mistake it, did I? That was Mr. Thomson's car!"

"Yes, that was Mr. Thomson's car," Joyce said calmly.

"How did you get out of Mr. Thomson's car? You, you two..."

"Oh, don't misunderstand," Joyce hurriedly said.

"I don't have any special relationship with Mr. Thomson. I'm just benefiting from my friend's connection."

"Who's your friend? What's her relationship with Mr. Thomson?"

"I can't disclose that. It's personal," Joyce said, flipping her hair and walking into the office.

"Wow, Joyce, I never would have guessed you had such connections. You must cover for me in the future," her colleague said.

"I'm the one being covered, not the other way around."

Hearing her colleague's words, Joyce felt a bit of vanity. She mentally was really grateful to Adeline.

After all, without Adeline, Joyce would never have met Harrison.

  1. Joyce is a friend indeed. And also being sincere to Adeline has brought he further into protection from Harrison. It pays to be a good friend.
