One night stand with my president (chapter 232)

Chapter 232: There Is a Lead

In the morning, Harrison still came to pick up Adeline.

Adeline had a good night's sleep and even baked some cookies in the morning.

As soon as she got in the car, she handed the box of cookies to Harrison.

"Let's just have this for breakfast today," she said.

Adeline was afraid that if she went out to breakfast with Harrison again, her coworkers might see them.

If that happened, all sorts of gossip would spread.

Harrison smiled as he took the box. "It's been a long time since I had your cookies."

Adeline replied. "It hasn't been that long."

In truth, it hadn't been that long, but with everything that had happened, it felt like ages to Harrison.

As he started the car, he told Adeline about running into Joyce at the hospital the night before.

"Joyce went to the hospital again?" Adeline sighed. "She takes Sam seriously."

"It's just a shame her feelings are for Sam," Harrison said. "That guy... well, you know what he's like."

"Yeah..."

"But let's not talk about him." Harrison continued, "You should find a way to remind Miss Monroe to keep her distance from Callan."

Adeline perked up and asked, "Do you know something?"

Harrison then told her about Daphne being

Jamarion's daughter.

"Jamarion's son is named Callan," Harrison said.

"So, it looks like he's the one responsible for Sam getting hurt."

"So it is really him." Adeline's face turned cold, Just the thought of Joyce knowing someone like that for years made her feel uneasy.

Callan still liked Joyce now.

But with his personality, if something upset him in the future, he might hurt Joyce too.

The more Adeline thought about it, the more worried she became.

"But Sam doesn't want Miss Monroe to know about this," Harrison said. "He's afraid she'll blame herself."

Adeline thought about it and thought it made sense. With Joyce's personality, if she found out about this, she would definitely feel responsible for what happened to Sam.

"Alright, I'll find a gentle way to tell her," Adeline said.

"Oh, by the way, after I got home last night, I received some news," Harrison said.

"There's a lead on the hotel fire in Marifort City back then."

Ronan and his family were currently on the Thomson family's private jet.

Ronan looked excited, constantly chatting away.

"You stayed a few more days at the hospital in Marifort City," Milania said helplessly.

"Why are you in such a rush to get home?"

"Mom, the doctors said I'm fine to fly home and rest. You don't need to worry," Ronan said.

"Yeah, let him do what he wants," Ashton added.

Milania snorted and looked over at Isaline, who sat to the side.

It was one thing for Ronan to insist on returning home, but he had to bring Isaline along.

Milania had always thought that Isaline was the reason Ronan got hurt.

No matter how she looked at Isaline, Milania couldn't stand her.

Sensing her gaze, Isaline glanced over and cautiously gave her a smile.

Milania's face darkened as she quickly looked away.

Isaline awkwardly rubbed her nose.

Just then, Milania's phone lit up.

Someone was calling her.

When she saw who it was, she almost cursed.

Milania thought, "Why call me again? I'm with my son and husband."

Luckily, her phone was on silent.

Milania quickly got up, slipped into the plane's restroom, and answered the call in a low voice, "What's wrong now? What's so urgent that you had to call me?"

"There's trouble." The man's voice trembled with panic. "Harrison's tracking me down."

"What did you say?" Milania's expression changed. "How did that happen? Didn't you say everything was foolproof? You promised that you wouldn't get caught."

"I know, but I didn't expect Harrison to be so capable," the man stammered. "I... I have to run now. I need to get out of the country. If Harrison catches me, it's all over."

Compared to him, Milania was a little calmer and asked, "Where are you now?"

"I'm hiding in a safe place for the time being."

"Okay, don't go to the airport. Harrison's people might be waiting for you there. Don't go to the train station either. I'll figure out a way to smuggle you out of Marifort City. Just stay put and wait for my instructions."

"Alright."

After hanging up, Milania looked stern and thought, "Useless. He has been so confident before, claiming he wouldn't get caught. And yet now, Harrison has tracked him down. If Harrison follows the trail to me..."

The thought sent a shiver down Milania's spine.

"How had that fire failed to kill him?" Milania thought angrily.

But she had to deal with that man quickly. She couldn't let him fall into Harrison's hands.

Harrison's methods would break him, and sooner or later, that man would reveal everything about her.

A flash of ruthlessness appeared in Milania's

eyes.

Milania quickly picked up her phone and began typing a message.

Just then, someone knocked on the restroom door.,Milania was so startled she dropped her phone.

"Milania, why have you been in there so long? Are you Okay? The plane's about to take off." Ashton's concerned voice came from outside.

Milania took a few deep breaths and replied calmly, "I'm fine. Don't worry. I'll be out in a minute."

"If something's wrong, you have to tell me. We're husband and wife, and we should share our burdens."

An unusual feeling passed through Milania's heart.

She thought, "Could Ashton have discovered something? No... he probably just thought I was acting a bit off."

After all, they had been married for so many

years. It was normal for a couple to notice each other's feelings.

To be fair, Ashton had been good to her.

Milania thought, "If only he were a bit more capable, then I wouldn't have to scheme so much."

In the afternoon, Lorenzo called Harrison and said Ronan and his family had returned from Marifort City. He invited Harrison to bring Adeline over for dinner.

Harrison agreed and asked for Adeline's opinion.

Adeline thought that since Ronan was back from Marifort City, it would be appropriate to visit.

Besides, it was Lorenzo's idea, so of course, she wouldn't refuse.

After leaving the office, the two of them headed to the Thomson family together.

Ronan had been talking to Lorenzo when he heard Harrison and Adeline had arrived. He immediately wanted to wheel himself out to greet them.

So good Ronan came back with Saline, and now his recuperating from his injury and he is a good guy.
I love Lorenzo's car for Adeline and Harrison, and also willing to help talk to his daughter Myra.
