One night stand with my president (chapter 261)

Chapter 261: Be Enemy with Benjamin

At this moment, Benjamin noticed something was off with Adeline.

He stood up again and walked over to Adeline, taking her by the arm.

"What's wrong?"

"Don't touch me!" Adeline jerked her arm away from him.

She was uncertain whether Hannah or Benjamin had drugged her.

But regardless, Benjamin was dangerous.

Benjamin, still unfazed by her reaction, asked with concern, "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

Adeline felt her head spinning. She raised a hand to her forehead, looking pained.

Benjamin's expression changed, and he asked urgently, "What's happening? Did someone drug you?"

He turned abruptly to look at Hannah.

Hannah shivered under his gaze and stammered, "I... I just wanted to help..."

"Who gave you the right to make decisions on your own?" Benjamin's voice was icy.

He couldn't bear to see Adeline suffering, and he didn't expect Hannah to drug her.

"I was afraid she wouldn't listen, so..."

Hannah's face turned pale with fear as she said so.

It seemed she had overstepped.

Benjamin might be considering killing her.

"What harm does this drug cause?" Benjamin shouted angrily.

"None, it... it just makes her unconscious for a while. She'll wake up with no side effects," Hannah said in terror. "Believe me. It's true."

When he heard this, Benjamin's expression softened slightly.

He no longer cared about Hannah and reached out to support Adeline.

"Don't touch me..."

Adeline's strength was waning, but she

gritted her teeth and held on.

She absolutely couldn't pass out here. She didn't know what might happen.

At that moment, Adeline's gaze fell on a bottle of liquor on the coffee table.

She grabbed the bottle with all her might and threw it to the floor.

Then, she tried to pick up the broken pieces, but she fumbled, and the shards fell to the ground again.

"What are you trying to do? Are you crazy?" Benjamin exclaimed, quickly stopping her.

He realized that Adeline was trying to use the broken pieces to hurt herself to stay awake.

Benjamin suddenly felt that, aside from their physical resemblance, Adeline and Whitney were completely different.

Whitney was gentle and fragile.

But Adeline, though appearing weak, had a very strong will.

"Get away!" Adeline tried to push

Benjamin away.

Just then, there was a loud bang at the door.

The two men outside were startled, almost letting the intruder kick the door open.

Seizing the opportunity, Adeline shouted towards the door, "Help!"

After shouting, she was completely drained of energy and slumped into a nearby chair.

The person outside continued to kick the door, and the force was growing stronger.

The two men could no longer hold them back and eventually let the door be kicked open.

Seeing the one burst in, Benjamin frowned in confusion.

After having his men close the door, he asked, "Are you... Alberto? What are you doing here?"

Alberto immediately spotted Adeline slumped in the chair.

His face darkened as he asked, "What have you done to her?"

Benjamin glanced at Adeline and asked Alberto, "Do you know her?"

He had not heard of any connection between Adeline and the Mendoza family.

Actually, Alberto had learned that Adeline would be at this reunion today, so he came to see her.

After reaching the top floor, he happened to encounter Jason and Abbie fleeing in a panic.

Sensing something was wrong and worried it might involve Adeline, he stopped them and asked if they knew where Adeline was.

When they heard he knew Adeline, they immediately told him the room number, urging him to rescue her.

Alberto didn't even know why, but despite not knowing Adeline well, the thought of her being in danger made him both alarmed and frightened.

Without a second thought, he rushed here.

Although Alberto didn't know what Adeline looked like, he deduced that the woman sitting in the chair, looking disoriented, must be her.

And beside her was Benjamin.

Though they had no direct dealings, they recognized each other from photos.

"Whether I know her or not isn't important," Alberto said. "What matters is, do you take satisfaction in bullying a lady?"

With that, Alberto moved towards Adeline.

Benjamin stepped directly between him and Adeline.

"My issues with her have nothing to do with you," Benjamin said. "She is my woman. You'd better stay out of this."

Hearing this, Alberto sneered, "Your woman?

Since when did she become yours?"

He had investigated Adeline's background when trying to enlist her help.

Even a simple check would have revealed if Adeline was involved with someone of Benjamin's stature.

Benjamin's face darkened.

He thought his only rival was Harrison, but it seemed Alberto was also involved.

Benjamin thought, "Why haven't I discovered Adeline's connection to Alberto?"

"She is mine," Benjamin repeated firmly. "If you insist on taking her, you're making an enemy of me and the Tillman family."

Alberto was aware of this but was undeterred.

With the strength of the Mendoza family, Alberto wasn't afraid of the Tillman family.

Besides, the two families were in different countries.

And in his mind, a persistent voice kept telling him he must save Adeline and protect

her.

He didn't know why, but his instincts told him to follow his heart.

"So now I'm telling you, I will take her, even if it means opposing the Tillman family," Alberto said.

With that, he reached out to push Benjamin aside.

Benjamin refused to yield, and the two were at an impasse.

"Alberto, I don't want to fight you," Benjamin said coldly. "Don't force my hand."

Alberto was alone here.

Unless necessary, Benjamin didn't want to fight him and create more trouble.

But he couldn't let Adeline go.

Alberto smirked and rolled up his sleeves, revealing his muscular forearms.

"You can try," he said.

Benjamin's fingers tightened.

Just as he was about to signal his men to act, the door to the room was kicked open once again.
