Chapter 251: Lance's Brother
Harrison smirked and replied, [Tell Miss Monroe not to be too polite. Since she's your friend, she's my friend too.]
Adeline quickly replied, [Did you finish talking with Jamarion? Is everything alright?]
Harrison said, [Yes, the conversation is over.
Don't worry. Everything is fine. Let Miss
Monroe know that Jamarion should keep an eye on Callan. If he dares to bother her again, just let me know.]
Adeline relayed Harrison's message to Joyce.
Joyce had just taken a bite of the chicken when she heard this, and she patted her chest, looking thrilled.
"What's with that look?" Adeline asked.
"I just feel like I suddenly have a big shot looking out for me," Joyce said excitedly.
"That's Harrison! Adeline, thanks to you, I'm now even slightly connected to the Thomson family."
Adeline laughed and said, "Don't get so excited. You're making me nervous."
"Oh, I'm so happy that I feel like my illness is
improving," Joyce said.
"I hope that's true," Adeline said with a hint of resignation.
They continued eating, and Joyce kept glancing at her phone.
After a while, she suddenly said to Adeline, "I heard from a colleague that the eldest son of the Tillman family has suddenly come from Mugroaton to our city."
Adeline was taken aback and thought, "The Tillman family from Mugroaton? Isn't that the family behind Lance, whom Eleanor is involved with? Lance is the second child of the Tillman family. And his elder brother is here too? Could it be that he's here to help Lance and Eleanor?"
Adeline frowned and asked, "Is this news reliable?"
"I'm not sure. You know how it is with our magazine. We often get rumors, some true and some false," Joyce said.
Adeline thought for a moment and sent the news to Harrison.
She quickly received a reply from Harrison, [l've heard the same thing and am having it verified.]
Knowing she might be worried, Harrison added,(Don't worry. The eldest son of the Tillman family is different from Lance. Most of their power is in Mugroaton, so they won't cause too much trouble here.)
Though it was just a text, it provided Adeline with some reassurance.
Adeline breathed a sigh of relief, hoping that everything would be resolved perfectly and that their lives could return to normal without any more complications.
Eleanor had just finished a meal with a director.
Becoming the spokesperson for the Thomson Group's new product was indeed beneficial for her.
Now a director had given her a script, and he wanted her to play the lead role.
Eleanor had reviewed the script before. It was good, with potential for success, and the director was quite skilled.
During their meal, the director mentioned that she should come for an audition next week.
If Eleanor performed well at the audition, she would likely get the lead role.
After Eleanor had the meal with the director, her mood, which had been low for days, improved a bit.
Passing by a men's clothing store, Eleanor had her assistant pick out a jacket, planning to give it to Lance when she got home.
However, when she returned home, she saw a car she had never seen before parked outside.
"Whose car is that?" she asked her assistant.
The assistant glanced at it and said, "I don't know. I haven't seen it before."
Eleanor frowned and thought, "Could it be that Lance had a friend come here to find him?" She had clearly told him not to let anyone know he was staying at her place.
Eleanor got out of the car and walked into the house.
Sure enough, there were two people sitting on the sofa in the living room.
One was Lance, and the other...
When she saw the other person's face, Eleanor was taken aback.
It was Lance's brother, Benjamin Tillman, the eldest son and the heir of the Tillman family.
He was more handsome and had a stronger aura than Lance.
Eleanor had previously tried to pursue him but was coldly rejected.
Eleanor felt embarrassed seeing him again.
"Mr. Tillman, what are you doing here?" Eleanor asked with a forced smile.
Benjamin glanced at her and said coolly, "I'm here to take my irresponsible brother back home."
Lance, sitting nearby, clearly wasn't pleased.
Unable to keep his frustration in, he said,
"Benjamin, I'm grown up now. Can't I make my own decisions?"
"I don't think you have the capability to make your own decisions," Benjamin said coldly.
Lance was infuriated by this but dared not retort.
Eleanor hoped Benjamin would quickly take
Lance away but didn't dare say so in front of Lance, so she remained silent.
"I don't want to go back yet," Lance said.
"Eleanor is my lover. I will be wherever she is."
His words made Eleanor's skin crawl, sending shivers down her spine.
She had never expected Lance to call her his
"lover."
She felt it disgusting.
Hearing this, Benjamin smirked with a hint of sarcasm.
"I think you need to improve your judgment," Benjamin said bluntly, regardless of Eleanor's feelings.
Eleanor was irritated but dared not show it.
She thought, "What's so proud of that? Did he think Lance is such a great person?"
If it hadn't been for being from the Tillman family, Lance would have been nothing.
"I know my own judgment, and I know who want to be with," Lance said. "Are you the only one allowed to play with women? At least these years, l've only had Eleanor by my side. I'm much more loyal than you."
Benjamin's expression darkened as if he recalled something.
After a moment, he said, "I'll give you another week. You can take time to spend your last days with your 'partner! After a week, if you still refuse to come home with me, l'll take more forceful measures."
With that, Benjamin stood up and left.
As he passed by Eleanor, he suddenly stopped.
Eleanor held her breath.
Benjamin said to her, "Ms. Fraser, you should
learn to be content. You wanted to make a name for yourself in Mugroaton's entertainment industry, and Lance has already helped you. I hope you won't let him do any more nonsense. The Tillman family is not to be manipulated by you."
"I... I understand," Eleanor replied fearfully.
After Benjamin left, Lance swore in Mugroaton's dialect, furious.
Eleanor was still under the pressure Benjamin had put on her.
She took a few deep breaths, hoped to cheer Lance up, and quickly handed him the jacket she had just bought.
"Here's a new jacket I bought for you. Try it on," Eleanor said.
