One night stand with my president (chapter 243)

Chapter 243: Where Is She?

The Mendoza family immigrated to Yewhaina decades ago, so their current influence was mostly in Yewhaina.

If the opponent had been someone else, it would have been one thing, but if it had been Harrison, that was a different story.

Moreover, although this middle-aged man said Alberto was his "nephew," he was actually just a distant relative from Alberto's mother's side.

After finishing business in Marifort City, Alberto went to another city for more negotiations. He was planning to return to Yewhaina but received a call from his mother insisting he come over.

Alberto thought, "Is it worth opposing the Thomson family for a distant relative?"

Seeing Alberto's expression, the middle-aged man knew he was weighing his options.

He quickly said, "By the way, I heard you have a sister who has been missing for over twenty years. Haven't you found her yet?"

Alberto immediately asked, "Do you know where she is?"

"Not yet," the middle-aged man replied, "but if you're willing to help me, I promise I'll do everything I can to find her. Your family has always been in Yewhaina, and dealing with things domestically isn't that convenient, right? I don't know if your sister is currently in the country, but I can assure you that if you help me, I'll thoroughly search within the country and provide you with an answer within a year. If she's not in the country, you can save some time and focus on other places."

A hint of disappointment flashed across Alberto's face when he heard that.

Alberto had hoped this man might have news about his sister.

For over twenty years, the Mendoza family had been searching for their lost girl all over the world, but it was like looking for a needle in a haystack, with no results.

Even though the Mendoza family was strong in Yewhaina, finding a person who was sent away over twenty years ago globally was still very challenging.

Alberto's previous trip to Marifort City was due to a lead that someone there had spotted a lady who might be his sister.

But after a paternity test with that lady, he found they were not related.

Fortunately, Alberto hadn't told his parents about this, or they would have been disappointed again.

Alberto thought, "Where did my aunt send my sister all those years ago?"

"Alberto, please help me," the man said.

Alberto was silent for a moment before saying, "I can help, but you need to explain what exactly you did to offend Harrison. I feel like if nothing serious had happened, he wouldn't be so determined to go after you."

The middle-aged man hesitated and said,

"Actually, it's not a big deal... It was just that the Aprico Group got hold of internal secrets about the Thomson Group's new product and then copied their new product, releasing it first. That's why Harrison is angry. He's been targeting the Aprico Group recently."

Alberto looked at him with disgust.

No wonder Harrison was so determined to go after him. It turned out it was such a despicable act.

If it had been Alberto, he would have been just as relentless as Harrison.

"I realize my mistake now. A few days ago, I tried to contact him to apologize and offer compensation to the Thomson Group, but he refused to accept."

"Do you think the Thomson family needs your compensation?" Alberto said flatly.

"I... So now I'm left with no choice but to ask for your help.”

Alberto said, "Here's what I'll do. I'll find a way to invite him for a meal and talk to him."

"Alright." The middle-aged man quickly nodded.

Alberto stood up and prepared to leave. As he reached the door, he turned back and said, "Don't forget what you promised me."

"Don't worry. As long as you help me get through this, I will thoroughly search for your sister within the country."

Alberto nodded and then left the ward.

After walking a short distance, his phone rang.

He glanced at the caller ID and answered.

"Mom."

"Alberto, how is it? Did you see your uncle?"

"Yes, I saw him.”

"Well, even though we haven't been in touch for years, he's still my relative. If you can help, please do.”

"Don't worry, I'll do my best."

"Speaking of which, when I was pregnant with your sister, I was still in the country and stayed at their home for a few days. I remember your aunt was with me, but she couldn't stay still and was always out and about, making a lot of friends."

As she reflected on the past, her mother's voice was filled with nostalgia and soon became more sorrowful. "But now, your aunt is gone, and we don't know where your sister is. Alberto, do you think your sister is still alive?" Alberto felt a pang of sadness.

No one could guarantee that.

But they had never given up searching for over twenty years.

As long as there was no confirmed death, they couldn't abandon hope.

"Mom, she must still be alive," Alberto said.

"We will find her."

"Let's hope so."

After Lacey's surgery was completed, Adeline felt a significant weight lift from her heart.

Moreover, Lacey was recovering well post-surgery, and the doctor said the chance of recurrence was very small, almost zero.

Adeline was very happy.

Thinking about how Harrison had helped bring in experts for Lacey's surgery, Adeline wanted to invite Harrison to dinner after work to express her gratitude.

She went to Harrison's office door and knocked.

"Come in."

Adeline pushed the door open.

Harrison was sitting at his desk. The setting sun cast a golden light over him through the window.

The scene was as beautiful as a painting.

Adeline looked at Harrison, mesmerized for a moment.

Harrison looked up and gave her a warm smile, asking, "What are you thinking about?"

Adeline snapped back to reality.

She walked up to the desk and said, "I'd like to invite you to dinner tonight."

"Invite me to dinner? Why?"

If she had said "ask him out," he would have been pleased.

But since she said "invite," it felt different.

"You helped us a lot with Lacey's surgery.

I want to thank you," Adeline said.

Before she could finish, she saw Harrison's brow furrow.

She suddenly remembered he had mentioned not wanting to hear her say "thank you" again.

So Adeline added, "It's not me thank you, but Bianca and Oliver want to thank you.

They're a bit afraid of you, so they asked me to do it for them."

Harrison made a soft sound of acknowledgment.

However, he would never miss an opportunity to spend more time with Adeline, so he didn't say much more and just asked, "What do you want to eat?"

"What do you want to eat?" Adeline asked back.
