Chapter 233: Find That Man
"What's the rush? Calm down, kid," Milania scolded, holding Ronan back. "No need to be so eager to see Harrison, right?"
Ronan was actually eager to see Adeline, but since Milania had spoken, he didn't argue.
He just looked toward the entrance, filled with anticipation.
Soon enough, Harrison and Adeline walked in together.
The moment Ronan saw Adeline, his eyes lit up instantly.
"Miss Hensley!" he called out excitedly.
Milania's lips twitched slightly.
She felt that Ronan truly had no composure, completely losing his sense whenever Adeline was around, not even thinking to restrain himself in front of Lorenzo and Harrison.
"Mr. Ronan," Adeline smiled and nodded.
"How are you feeling?"
"Much better," Ronan quickly replied. "Miss
Hensley, you...“
Before he could finish, Harrison shot him a calm glance, and Ronan instinctively closed his mouth.
Adeline greeted the elders of the Thomson family, though Myra wasn't present.
Likely due to what happened with Amber, Myra had been in a foul mood for days and didn't want to come over.
"Please, Miss Hensley, have a seat." Milania warmly invited.
As always, Milania was kind, but just as she reached out to take Adeline's hand, Harrison suddenly pulled Adeline closer to his side.
Milania's hand awkwardly froze mid-air.
She thought, "What was Harrison doing? Could it be that they have discovered something?"
"Thank you, Ms. Barrera," Adeline smiled politely, her beautiful face betraying no hint of anything unusual.
Her reaction made Milania relax a little.
She thought, "Perhaps I have overthought things."
Just then, Adeline noticed a young woman she had never seen before walking over with a tray of fruit.
The woman smiled at them as she approached.
Ronan seized the moment and introduced her.
"This is Isaline, the lady I rescued at the bar in Marifort City. Isaline, this is my brother and Miss Hensley."
Adeline had heard that Ronan got into a fight at the bar while rescuing a lady, but she didn't expect him to bring her home.
Still, it was Ronan's personal matter, so while Adeline found it odd, she didn't dwell on it.
Isaline greeted them politely, placed the fruit on the table, and quietly stood by Ronan's side.
The scene made Milania's blood boil.
She had no idea why Ronan had brought Isaline home in the first place.
"Since Harrison and Miss Hensley are here, it's time to serve dinner,' Lorenzo instructed the butler.
"Yes, sir."
Because today was meant to celebrate Ronan's return from Marifort City, the family dined together, with Isaline joining them at Lorenzo's request, though she had initially been hesitant due to her awkward position.
Throughout the meal, Isaline noticed that Ronan's attention was entirely on Adeline. It was obvious he liked her.
But that wasn't surprising. Given who Harrison was, Adeline must be exceptionally capable to be his chief assistant.
A beautiful and competent woman like Adeline was bound to attract attention.
Isaline had no ulterior motives, though. She had followed Ronan home simply to repay her debt to him.
After all, she owed him a great deal, and until she repaid him, she wouldn't be at peace.
Perhaps because Adeline was present, Ronan had a great appetite, eating a lot.
Meanwhile, Milania couldn't shake her sense of unease.
She couldn't pinpoint exactly why, but something about Harrison and Adeline seemed off today.
After dinner, the servants cleared the table.
Still feeling uneasy, Milania excused herself, claiming she was tired and wanted to rest.
Just as she spoke, Harrison's cold voice interrupted her, "No need to rush off, Milania. There's someone you need to see."
Milania's heart sank.
Ashton and Ronan both turned to Harrison in confusion.
"Harrison, who do you want me to meet?" Milania forced a smile. "Did you bring another guest with you today?"
Harrison didn't answer right away. Instead, he turned to Lorenzo and said, "Grandfather, a few days ago, someone hacked
into Miss Hensley's phone in the middle of the night, planting a virus and playing some rather disturbing tricks."
Lorenzo's brows furrowed deeply.
Before he could speak, Ronan angrily asked,
"Who would do such a thing? Why?"
Isaline muttered softly, "If someone hacked into my phone in the middle of the night and pulled a stunt like that, l'd be scared."
Her words made Ronan realize that while it seemed like a prank. If Adeline had been easily frightened, she would have been seriously harmed.
"Whoever did this has bad intentions," Ronan thought.
He growled, clenching his fists, "If I find out who it is, I won't let it off!"
"Look at yourself. You're in no condition to fight anyone," Ashton said helplessly.
He then turned to Harrison and asked, "Have you found out who did it?"
Ashton hadn't seen much of Harrison recently, but he'd heard enough to know that
Adeline held a special place in Harrison's heart.
Since Harrison was bringing this up at the family dinner, it probably meant the culprit had ties to someone in the Thomson family.
"Yes, I've identified the person," Harrison replied.
"And I had him brought here. He's waiting outside."
"Bring him in," Lorenzo ordered.
Everyone was curious to see who it was, except Milania, who was now visibly anxious.
She thought, "Has Harrison found out? And brought the person here? How could this be?
That man is a top-tier hacker. He has sworn no one could track him down."
Soon, Rowen entered, followed by two bodyguards, with a panicked-looking man between them.
Milania's mind went blank when she saw the man's face.
Milania's face turned pale, and her hands tightly gripped the arrests of her chair.
"Was it you who planted the virus in Miss Hensley's phone?" Ronan demanded furiously.
"Who are you? Why did you do it? Or was someone else behind it?""
