Chapter 227 :Reluctance
It was not that Harrison didn't want to help Russell, nor that he didn't want Adeline to continue watching over Russell, but he didn't want Russell to know that they saw that scene.
For Russell, knowing that Harrison saw him like that would definitely make him feel uncomfortable and embarrassed.
After all, the two of them were rivals in love now.
No one would want their romantic rival to see them in such a pathetic state.
Even if Harrison went to help Russell, it wouldn't have been helping him. It would only make Russell feel worse.
Adeline understood Harrison's meaning.
She whispered, "Let's pretend we didn't see anything in the opposite private room today."
Harrison nodded and served her a piece of sea cucumber.
"Eat up. I heard the braised sea cucumber here is good. You should try it."
"Okay."
Although Adeline didn't have much of an appetite now, she still needed to eat enough to have the energy to face everything that was happening.
In the opposite private room, Russell looked at his father and his aunt, the two people whom his mother once deeply loved, and his heart was numb from the pain.
He stood up to leave, but Jasmine called out to him.
"Russell, I know you resent me, but right now, what's in my belly is your brother or sister, and you'll need to support each other in the future. If you're upset, just take it out on me. I won't say a word more, but you won't harm the child in my belly, will you?"
No matter how much Russell was suffering, he wouldn't harm an unborn child.
But he didn't have the mood to explain this to Jasmine and directly walked out.
"Russell, your hand needs to be bandaged quickly." A relative anxiously followed him.
Jasmine leaned on Rogelio, crying, "What should we do? Russell resents us and hates us. Will he harm our child? I'm scared."
"He won't. Russell isn't that kind of person,"
Rogelio reassured her.
"Maybe I should just get rid of this child?"
Jasmine suggested. "That way, perhaps Russell will feel better."
"Jasmine, don't talk nonsense," Rogelio hurriedly said. "We finally made the decision to have a child of our own. How can we just get rid of it? Just focus on taking care of the baby. I'll talk to Russell about it. After all, it's his brother or sister. He can't deny that."
Jasmine wiped her tears and said, "But I still feel very uneasy. How about we let Russell go abroad for a while? Once I give birth, he can come back..."
Hearing her words, Rogelio fell silent.
He didn't oppose Jasmine's suggestion, but now he couldn't do that.
On the surface, he was still the head of the
Hunter family and the chairman of the Hunter Group.
But the one truly in control was Russell.
In the business world, Russell actually held more prestige than Rogelio did.
Rogelio could not control Russell's life.
Seeing him silent, Jasmine guessed his thoughts and her eyes darkened as she reached to touch her belly.
.
After dinner, Harrison drove Adeline home.
The car stopped at the entrance of Adeline's house.
After she got out of the car, Harrison said to her,"Although I haven't found out who planted the virus in your phone yet, l've added a security system to it, so no one can implant another virus in your phone. You can rest assured."
Adeline nodded.
Since Harrison dared to say this, it showed that he was quite skilled in this area.
His previous claim of "I know a little" was certainly modesty.
"Get a good night's sleep and don't think too much," Harrison continued. "If you get sick, you won't be able to do anything."
"Don't worry. I know."
After Adeline said this, she prepared to open the car door to get out.
But Harrison suddenly grasped her wrist.
"What's wrong?" Adeline turned back, looking at him in confusion.
Harrison's lips moved slightly, but he said, "It's nothing."
He couldn't exactly say that he suddenly felt reluctant to let her go.
He had to let her go back and rest well.
Although Harrison didn't say anything, Adeline seemed to sense something.
A slight smile appeared at the corners of her mouth as she raised her hand to touch his head.
"See you tomorrow."
Harrison couldn't help but smile back."Okay, see you tomorrow."
After watching the lights in Adeline's house turn on, Harrison finally drove away.
He drove to the hospital to visit Sam.
Before getting out of the car, he received a phone call.
It was from Ayden.
*Harrison, we've been inquiring about this for the past couple of days and have actually found out a bit of information," Ayden said mysteriously. "It turns out that Callan is actually Jamarion's illegitimate son."
Harrison raised an eyebrow.
"Jamarion has an illegitimate son?"
"I just found out too. No wonder he dared to
hurt Mr. Juarez for Callan.Even if he didn't regard the Juarez family highly, everyone knew that Sam was Harrison's childhood friend. Jamarion could risk offending the Thomson family to do such a thing, which showed that Callan was indeed something special to him. I heard that Callan's mother was Jamarion's mistress when she was young." Ayden continued.
"Later, she had some conflict with Jamarion and ran away secretly. But when she ran away, she was already pregnant with Jamarion's child. Later, she found another man, got married, and gave birth to a child. Jamarion didn't even know he had a son until this son came looking for him two years ago. However, we haven't been able to find out what Callan's exact name or what he looks like, as Jamarion's people are keeping that very tight-lipped."
Harrison said, "Okay, thanks for your hard work."
"You don't have to be so polite with us. We wouldn't be having such a good life today without you."
After chatting with Ayden, Harrison got out of the car and walked into the hospital.
As soon as he entered, he just happened to run into Russell.
Russell's hand was wrapped in bandages.
He must have just had a doctor attend to it.
At this moment, Russell's face was douded with anger, completely devoid of his previous gentile demeanor.
Upon seeing Harrison, he pressed his lips together and instinctively looked behind Harrison.
Seeing that there was no one behind Harrison, he finally relaxed.
When he saw the bandages on Russell's hand, Harrison's gaze dimmed.
Soon, Harrison scoffed, "Mr. Hunter, did you get into a fight? Is the injury serious?"
Russell felt a bit better upon hearing this question.
He would rather be misunderstood as having gotten into a fight t has n talk about his family issues.
He leisurely adjusted his cuffs and lightly said, “Thank you for your concern, Mr. Thomson. It’s not serious.”

I like the way Harrison approach Russell about the matter he doesn't want him to know that he saw what happened
