Chapter 157: Better Off Not Meeting
Harrison didn't want to listen to their insincere pleasantries. He was anxious to go see Adeline.
Now the Mclean family realized it was their failure to manage things at home. When Tommy was causing trouble and bullying others, why didn't they notice?
Only after offending a big shot did they regret it.
Harrison walked away directly. These people wanted to catch up, but his bodyguards stopped them.
"Mr. Thomson doesn't want to be disturbed."
"Then what should we do?" one person asked with a mournful face. "We can't let the entire Mclean family be ruined because of Tommy, can we?"
"Mr. Thomson doesn't deal in collective punishment," another bodyguard said coldly, "but Tommy is already on the Thomson family's blacklist, so handle it yourselves."
The group looked at each other in dismay.
After Harrison's bodyguards left, they discussed worriedly for a while and finally decided they couldn't afford to make enemies with the Thomson family over Tommy.
Although the Mclean family was not weak, if they clashed with the Thomson family, it wouldn't end well.
So, they decided to expel Tommy from the Mclean family.
After returning to his floor, Harrison first went to see Adeline.
Adeline was already struggling to keep her eyes open.
After chatting for a few moments, Adeline went to sleep.
Georgia finally left Adeline's room.
"Mr. Thomson, nothing happened to Ms. Hensley last night. She was just very worried about you," Georgia reported truthfully.
A slight smile curved Harrison's lips.
"How did she tell you?" he asked.
Georgia repeated Adeline's words verbatim.
Her memory was excellent, so she remembered everything Adeline said.
After he heard Georgia's words, Harrison's smile became even more pronounced.
She was genuinely concerned about him.
"Did she say anything else?" Harrison asked.
"About you?" Georgia inquired.
"Yes, about me."
Georgia thought for a moment and said, "No."
Harrison sighed softly.
Well, Georgia and Adeline weren't close. How could Adeline have told her much?
"If you want to know more, I can ask her right now," Georgia said straightforwardly.
Harrison immediately said, "No need."
He knew from working with her for a long time that if he didn't clarify things, Georgia would indeed go ask Adeline.
If possible, Harrison would want to ask Adeline himself.
"Go rest," he said.
"Okay."
In the morning, Adeline woke up a bit earlier.
Originally, she wanted to continue sleeping, but after seeing Anna's message about work, she lost her sleepiness.
Feeling her stomach grumble, Adeline sent a message to Harrison.
Ten minutes passed, and Harrison hadn't replied.
Adeline thought Harrison must still be sleeping, considering he stayed up late last night.
In that case, she decided not to disturb him and let him sleep a little longer.
Adeline came to the hotel restaurant alone for breakfast.
Just as she entered, she suddenly saw a slightly familiar figure.
It was Russell.
Adeline thought, "How did he end up in Marifort City?"
Russell had been here for a while. His plate and cup were already empty, and he was now looking down at his phone.
As if sensing something, he looked up and saw Adeline.
Russell's eyes lit up, and he walked to her.
In this situation, Adeline couldn't just turn and leave, so she took a few steps forward as well.
"Good morning, Mr. Hunter." Adeline greeted him first. "What brings you to Marifort City?"
Adeline wondered, "Did the Hunter Group have a business to conduct here too?"
"Personal matters," Russell said gently "I didn't expect to meet you here."
He knew Adeline was in Marifort City.
However, he hadn't deliberately investigated anything and didn't know she was staying at this hotel.
He was happy to meet her here.
Adeline nodded. Just as she was about to say something, Russell's phone rang.
He answered and spoke for a few moments.
After he hung up, Adeline inadvertently saw his phone's screensaver.
It seemed to be the photo they took next to the snowman after they finished building it that day.
Adeline was surprised.
She had only glanced at it briefly and wasn't sure if she had seen it correctly.
If it really was that photo, then Russell still...
Russell said, "Ms. Hensley, I have something to attend to. I'll be going now."
Despite being glad to see her here, he had very important matters to handle.
"Alright, Mr. Hunter, take care," Adeline said politely.
Russell could sense her politeness and distance.
His eyes dimmed slightly, but he didn't say anything more. He nodded slightly and left.
Watching his departing figure, Adeline sighed softly.
It was indeed pleasant to meet familiar faces in a foreign place.
But she knew Russell's feelings for her and couldn't respond to him.
In this case, it would have been better not to have met at all.
Adeline was halfway through breakfast when
Harrison arrived.
He looked like he had just woken up, sitting at the table with sleepy eyes.
She found this fresh and couldn't resist teasing him, saying, "Since you're still so sleepy, why not sleep a bit more? Is the hotel breakfast that good?"
Harrison took a sip of coffee and said, "Heartless. I'm here to take you to the hospital to see Ronan."
"Huh?" Adeline was momentarily stunned.
Why was Harrison suddenly so proactive about her to see Ronan?
"After seeing him, we can continue our sightseeing," he added.
"Oh?" Adeline raised an eyebrow.
So that was Harrison's real reason for being proactive.
Nevertheless, she enjoyed the feeling of going sightseeing with Harrison.
Because she didn't know if they would have the chance again, or what might happen when they returned.
Therefore, their time in Marifort City was particularly precious.
Harrison finished eating quickly, almost finishing at the same time as Adeline.
Before leaving the restaurant, Adeline hesitated but told Harrison, "I ran into Mr. Hunter here just now."
"Russell?"
Harrison's expression didn't change, but his voice held a hint of seriousness. "What's he doing here?"
"I don't know. He mentioned something personal, and I didn't ask," Adeline replied truthfully.
"Hmph." Harrison chuckled coldly. "Is his
'personal matter' about seeing you?"
"Of course not! What are you thinking?"
Adeline quickly retorted. "He hardly said anything to me before leaving."
Even though that was the case, Harrison still felt a bit uneasy.
After all, it wasn't pleasant for anyone to hear about their beloved meeting their rival, especially since they were staying in the same hotel.
It meant they might bump into each other frequently in the coming days.

Hmmm, I think the same way as Harrison over Russel's visit to Mari fort city. Not really good for Russel to bump into Adeline all the time in the hotel. So, that means a change of hotel will be expedient for Russel not bunming into Adeline always as not to spoil their ROMANCE together.
ReplyDeleteRonan's mom, is becoming a suspect over the happenings in Harrison's life. Due to her dubious attitude at the hospital. This story is getting interested once again, as it was before.
Every enemy of Harrison will be searched out and how will it be for Ronan's mom getting involved all these while in Harrison's life ooooo.
Adeline should be careful with Russell not to spoil her Union with Harrison and who is that man
