One night stand with my president(Chapter 181)

Chapter 181: Thinking About Him

Adeline, fearing Harrison might be genuinely upset, decided to break the silence, saying, "Mr. Thomson, have you had dinner yet?"

Her voice, slightly slurred from the alcohol, sounded softer and more vulnerable than usual.

Harrison's heart softened in response.

She had been drinking, and it seemed she forgot they had already had dinner together earlier.

His tone became gentler as he said, "No, have you planned to treat me to a meal?"

"Well... what would you like to eat?" Adeline asked.

"The restaurant you treated me to before was quite good."

Adeline, still a bit tipsy, took some time to remember that. Before she moved, Harrison had taken her home, and she had invited him to a nearby restaurant.

"Alright, let's go there then."

Adeline rolled down the car window, instructed the driver to get in, and provided the address.

Once the driver was inside, he drove in silence.

Harrison remained quiet as well.

After a while, Adeline suddenly recalled something.

"Wait, didn't we already have dinner together?"

"Is that so?" Harrison replied nonchalantly, "I don't remember."

Adeline laughed and said, "How can you forget something that happened just a few hours ago?"

"Weren't you just saying you didn't remember?"

Adeline was speechless.

It seemed to be the case.

She cleared her throat and said, "In that case, let's consider it a late-night snack treat from me."

"Alright."

Harrison responded with a seemingly indifferent tone, but a slight smile tugged at his lips.

The car soon stopped in front of the noodle shop.

They got out and walked into the shop.

At this time, the shop was nearly empty except for two people eating quickly.

The owner greeted them with a smile as soon as they walked in. "You're here! It's been a while since l've seen you."

"Yes, I moved recently," Adeline replied with a smile. "But I kept thinking about the taste of your noodles, so I came back."

"I thought so," the owner said. "I missed seeing you. Oh, your friend is here too."

Harrison had only visited once, and although Adeline had mentioned he was her boss, the owner had forgotten.

The owner cheerfully seated them, noted their noodle order, and went to the kitchen.

This was the second time they had come to this noodle shop together.

But their mood was entirely different this time.

Adeline recalled that the last time she was here with Harrison, she had treated him as just a boss.

Although she had liked him, she hadn't dared to entertain any romantic thoughts then.

But with Harrison's increasing proximity, she found herself slowly falling for him.

Although she knew the gap between them hadn't disappeared, as Joyce said, feelings were uncontrollable.

Perhaps only after leaving Harrison would she be able to let go of her feelings for him.

"What are you thinking about?" Harrison suddenly asked.

Adeline snapped out of her reverie, realizing she had been spacing out.

"Nothing," she said, lowering her gaze, unable to meet his intense eyes.

"You're not thinking about Russell, are you?"

Harrison's voice was cool.

Adeline frowned lightly, She honestly replied, "No, you're overthinking.

Have you been thinking about him all this time?"

Adeline wasn't sure if it was the lighting, but Harrison's face seemed a bit pale.

"Well, I need to use the restroom. I'll be right back."

Saying that, Adeline quickly got up and headed for the restroom.

Harrison watched her retreating figure and sighed helplessly.

At that moment, his gaze fell upon the wish wall.

The wall was covered with colorful stickers.

Driven by an inexplicable impulse, he stood up and walked over to it.

Although Adeline had said she hadn't written any wishes on it, Harrison couldn't shake the feeling that she might have done so years ago.

He reached the wish wall.

The colorful stickers were filled with various, unsigned wishes in different hand-writings.

Amidst the many wishes, Harrison immediately spotted Adeline's handwriting.

In fact, it was Adeline's handwriting from five years ago.

Over the years, her handwriting had matured significantly.

Yet, Harrison recognized it immediately.
