One night stand with my president(chapter 153)

Chapter 153: Ronan Got Into a Fight

For someone like Kaylie, Adeline couldn't muster any sympathy.

So, after hearing Harrison's words, Adeline just nodded slightly.

However, speaking of Kaylie scheming against him, Adeline remembered that night.

And then she thought of Amber.

She gave Harrison a sidelong glance.

Although Harrison was driving and focused on the road, he still felt her gaze.

"Why do I feel like you just gave me a complex look?" Harrison asked.

"I didn't," Adeline flatly denied. "You must be imagining things."

Harrison chuckled and said, "Lately, you enjoy teasing me more and more."

"I wouldn't dare."

Adeline knew that once they returned, there would be many things waiting for them.

Given that, she decided not to bring up those matters for now.

Instead, she planned to enjoy her time with Harrison in Marifort City.

She slept dreamlessly through the night.

Adeline slept soundly, and when she woke up, she thought it was still nighttime because the curtains were drawn tightly, leaving the room pitch black.

But when she checked her phone, it was already almost nine in the morning.

She yawned, got out of bed, and then saw a message from Harrison, [Come to the hotel restaurant for breakfast after you wake up.]

After getting out of bed, washing up, and changing clothes, Adeline went to the hotel restaurant.

She didn't feel hungry when she first woke up, but the smell of breaktasts in the restaurant made her stomach growl.

As soon as she entered, she saw Harrison and Ronan sitting at a table by the window.

There was no food on the table, so it was unclear whether they had finished eating or not started yet.

Adeline walked over, and when Ronan saw her, his eyes lit up.

But then, he seemed to remember something, and the light in his eyes dimmed.

"When did you two get here?" Adeline asked cheerfully.

"Not long ago," Harrison replied.

"Then you haven't had breakfast yet?" Adeline asked.

"No, sit down," Harrison said.

The hotel's breakfast was self-service, but since Harrison was a VIP, the hotel had prepared three separate breakfasts for them.

After breakfast, Harrison and Adeline discussed where to go, while Ronan listened quietly.

He wanted to go with Adeline.

But, at a time like this, what's wrong with him following?

He would be the third wheel between Harrison and Adeline.

Ronan had long been prepared to pursue Adeline, but he didn't want to make a fool of himself.

So he listened quietly for a while, then said he hadn't slept enough and was going back to his room to rest.

"If you have nothing left to do in Marifort City, go home," Harrison said calmly. "Don't worry your grandfather and parents."

Ronan was silent for a moment, then said, "I'll go back when I feel like it. Harrison, I'm an adult now. You won't restrict my freedom, will you?"

Harrison gave him a cold look.

Ronan felt a bit intimidated, so he didn't dare to meet Harrison's gaze.

After a while, Harrison said coldly, "Do as you please."

Ronan sighed slightly in relief, glanced at Adeline, and left.

Adeline said helplessly, "You are really..."

However, when she was in the company, she could see that although Harrison appeared cold towards Ronan, he still cared about his brother deep down, often asking people in Ronan's department about his work.

He wanted Ronan to grow and improve.

But during these few days in Marifort City, the two men seemed to be at odds.

Of course, Ronan didn't dare to directly confront Harrison, so saying they were at odds might not be very accurate.

Anyway, their relationship seemed strained.

Harrison said, "Since he claims to be an adult, he should handle his own affairs. No need to worry about him."

"I hope so."

But Adeline still felt a vague unease.

Sure enough, events soon confirmed her unease.

During the day, she took Harrison to buy a few sets of clothes suitable for outings, and after shopping, they visited nearby tourist spots.

When they returned to the hotel in the evening, Harrison received a call from his subordinates.

Harrison listened quietly without saying much, only at the end did he sneer.

Harrison said, "So this is what he meant by 'being an adult!."

When Adeline heard this, she guessed something must have happened with Ronan.

After Harrison hung up the phone, she asked, "What happened to Mr. Ronan?"

"Got into a fight," Harrison said.

Adeline couldn't help but gasp.

"How could he get into a fight in Marifort City?" Adeline asked.

"They said he drank too much at a bar and got into a conflict."

Actually, for the Thomson family, this wasn't a big deal, but the person Ronan fought with was also a well-known figure in Marifort City.

The other side, relying on their numbers, immediately detained Ronan.

Even though Ronan mentioned Harrison, the other side refused to release him.

Now, Ronan's bodyguards were confronting the other side, but they couldn't rescue Ronan because the other side had more people, so they had to contact Harrison's subordinates.

Harrison would probably have to go personally.

After all, it was his brother, Harrison couldn't just ignore Ronan.

"I'll go take a look, you rest early," Harrison said.

"I'll go with you," Adeline immediately said.

Indeed, with the Thomson family's power, there was no need to fear anywhere.

But Adeline was still worried about him.

"No need, it's already late. You should rest,"

Harrison said.

Adeline was unwilling, and Harrison sighed, saying, "If there's another conflict, I'll have to take care of you."

Adeline was stunned.

What he said made sense.

If a bunch of men were fighting, she couldn't participate.

If she went, and there was a conflict, she might indeed become a liability for Harrison.

Adeline had to give up the idea.

"Be careful," Adeline reminded him.

Harrison smiled slightly.

He didn't think the other side could do anything to him, but he was happy to have her concern.

"Don't worry," Harrison said.

After Harrison left, Adeline returned to her room.

She was still worried and contacted someone to keep her updated on the situation.

After a while, there was a sudden knock on the door.

When Adeline opened the door, she saw a short-haired woman standing there, dressed in. sportswear, tall and sharp-eyed.

Adeline recognized her. This was Georgia Palmer, Rowen's sister and one of Harrison's bodyguards.

She was very skilled, even Rowen had to bow to her abilities.

But they rarely interacted, and Adeline only now knew she was also in Marifort City.

"Why are you here?" Adeline asked.
