Chapter 159: You’re Here Too
"Hmm," Adeline responded faintly, taking out her phone to arrange a hotel for Amber.
On their way to the hospital, Harrison had already arranged another hotel for them, and their luggage had been moved as well.
She simply arranged for Amber to stay at the same hotel.
After all, if Myra found out she had arranged for Amber somewhere else, she would definitely take advantage of the situation.
It was better to avoid unnecessary trouble.
Amber was completely unaware of Adeline's sense of crisis, which annoyed her greatly.
She had already caught Myra's attention, so why was Adeline still so confident?
After finishing her call, Amber added, "I don't know why, but Mrs. Thomson seems to feel a connection with me. She really likes me."
Hearing this, Adeline finally reacted.
Adeline glanced at her.
But Amber suddenly felt as though there was a hint of pity in Adelines eyes.
Amber thought, "What did she mean by that?"
Adeline truly thought Amber was foolish and pitiful.
She couldn't help but wonder who was pulling Amber's strings. If they knew they had sent such a fool to approach Harrison, they would surely regret it.
Amber was angered by her gaze and couldn't help but say, "Ms. Hensley, rest assured, I'll speak well of you in front of Mrs. Thomson from now on."
Adeline smirked slightly and replied, "Thank you so much."
Her indifferent attitude was like a slap in the face to Amber.
Amber was both angry and frustrated but couldn't fall out with Adeline.
"Let's go," Adeline said. "I'll take you to the hotel."
Amber had so much to say but couldn't bring herself to say anything, so she obediently followed Adeline out.
As they were about to leave the hospital, Amber looked back upstairs.
She smiled mysteriously, as if thinking of something.
Upon arriving at the hotel, someone immediately came to deliver their room keys.
"Here are your room keys, and this one is Mr.
Thomson's room key..."
Before Adeline could say anything, Amber interjected, "Give it to me."
Adeline glanced at her.
It seemed Amber hadn't learned her lesson from the last time.
Or perhaps she felt emboldened now that Myra was backing her.
However, the person handing them the keys
looked puzzled.
He glanced at Adeline and then at Amber, unable to help asking, "Who are you?"
Amber's expression faltered for a moment, but she smiled and said, "I'm from the Thomson Group's CEO Office."
She added quickly, "I'm someone who works closely with Mr. Thomson."
"Perhaps it's better if I give the room key to Ms. Hensley," the staff member said, knowing Adeline was essentially second only to Harrison in the CEO's office.
"You!"
Amber couldn't hide her frustration this time, glaring fiercely at the staff member as he handed Harrison's room key to Adeline.
After the staff member left, Amber followed Adeline towards the elevator, unable to resist sneering, "Ms. Hensley, now that you have Mr. Thomson's room key, it should make things much easier for you, shouldn't it?"
Adeline smiled and waved the room key in front of her. "Do you want it?"
Of course Amber wanted it, but she couldn't be so blunt in front of Adeline.
Even though Harrison had harshly rejected her last time, she wasn't ready to give up.
Initially, Amber had just wanted to enter the CEO's office and gradually make her move.
But last time, she had been reckless due to drinking too much.
However, she had Myra's support.
What did she have to fear?
"Adeline probably didn't know. When Amber first met Myra, Myra held her hand and said they got along well.
Amber had heard Myra didn't like Adeline very much.
Amber thought, "Adeline appeared calm on the surface, but maybe deep down, she is jealous of me!"
"It doesn't matter who got the key. As long as this room key safely reaches Mr. Thomson's hands." Amber almost gritted her teeth as she said this.
"Oh, I see," Adeline said with a smile. "Rest assured, I'll make sure this room key gets to Mr. Thomson intact."
After saying that, she ignored Amber.
Adeline didn't care to engage with someone like Amber for long. It was exhausting.
As they reached the elevator doors, they opened just in time.
Adeline froze when she saw who stepped out of the elevator.
"Mr. Hunter?"
How had Russell ended up at this hotel, too, even though they had switched hotels?
Russell also seemed surprised to see her.
"Ms. Hensley, what brings you over here?"
Adeline was stunned.
She twitched her lips, unsure how to respond.
Harrison had switched hotels because she had encountered Russell at their previous
one.
She hadn't expected Russell to move to this hotel as well.
"I have some matters to attend to over here,"
Adeline finally replied vaguely.
Russell smiled and said, "What a coincidence. The place I need to go is closer to this hotel, so l just moved here."
He was speaking the truth.
He had no idea Adeline would also move to this hotel.
So now, seeing Adeline here, he was quite pleased.
Just then, Amber spoke up again.
"Is this Mr. Hunter from the Hunter Group?" She smiled at Russell and extended her hand. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Hunter, I'm Amber from the Thomson Group CEO's office."
Russell furrowed his brow slightly.
While usually mild-mannered with a good temper, it didn't mean he would shake hands with just anyone.
Thus, he ignored Amber and simply said to Adeline, "Ms. Hensley, I'll be on my way."
"Alright, Mr. Hunter, take care."
Amber's outstretched hand was completely ignored.
Russell had already left, and her arm hung awkwardly in the air.
Adeline entered the elevator, leaving Amber standing there dumbfounded.
It wasn't until she heard Adeline cough lightly that Amber snapped out of it and hurriedly withdrew her hand, lowering her head as she entered the elevator.
Her face was now flushed red with embarrassment.
After all, she had just been so polite, only for Russell to completely ignore her.
She couldn't understand how Adeline could attract Russell's attention like this.
Amber took a deep breath, trying not to let Adeline see her embarrassment and awkwardness.
However, Adeline wasn't paying attention to her at all.
Once the elevator arrived, Adeline went straight back to her room.
Amber stared at the closed door of Adeline's room, her eyes filled with bitterness.
