Chapter 176: Isaline Bonner
Ronan felt embarrassed.
He quickly said, "Miss... please, don't say that. My injuries may look serious, but they're not that bad. Even if I were seriously injured, you don't need to offer yourself in gratitude. Please, don't say such things again."
"Exactly," Milania chimed in, "The doctor has already mentioned that he needs plenty of rest. You've visited him and shown your gratitude, which is enough. You can leave now."
The only reason Milania was still speaking calmly to this lady was because of the acting skills she had honed over the years.
Otherwise, her sheer anger would have driven her to strangle the lady.
Not only did this lady cause Ronan to be hospitalized, but now she wanted to marry him.
What a pipe dream.
The lady's face flushed, and she stammered.
"I... I may have been a bit impulsive earlier, but my desire to repay you is genuine. By the way, I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Isaline Bonner.."
Ronan was slightly taken aback.
"Isaline?" He repeated the name.
Isaline nodded slightly.
Ronan fell silent again, lost in thought.
Milania glanced at him, feeling a sense of unease, and she urged Isaline again, "You can leave now."
After being asked to leave so many times, Isaline couldn't hold on any longer. She could only say to Ronan, "I'll go for now, but I'll visit you again if I get the chance."
"There's no need," Milania said coldly.
"We're not from Marifort City. Once he's feeling better, we'll be leaving, and you won't see each other again."
Disappointment flashed across Isaline's face.
She was truly grateful to Ronan, and to be honest, she also felt a bit guilty.
When Ronan had stepped in to rescue her from that bully, Isaline had been so frightened that she had run away.
Later, when she inquired about Ronan, she learned that Ronan had been seriously injured while saving her and was hospitalized.
She quickly found out which hospital he was in and came to visit.
Although staying behind wouldn't have changed anything, she still felt uneasy.
Isaline took a deep breath and said, "I'll go now. Take care of yourself."
With that, she left, turning back to look several times as she walked away.
Ronan lowered his head slightly, muttering to himself, "Isaline... Isaline..."
Milania watched as Isaline left, then looked at Ronan, who was muttering to himself on the bed, and couldn't help but laugh.
"You like Ms. Hensley that much? Just because her name shares a syllable with Adeline, you're this affected?"
Ronan snapped back to reality and smiled awkwardly. "No, it's nothing like that. Don't overthink it."
"Alright, I'm your mother. Do you think I don't know you?"
Just then, Milania's phone rang.
She glanced at the caller ID and said to Ronan, "Get some rest. I'm going to take this call."
She left the room and went to a secluded spot before answering the phone.
Milania asked, "What's the matter?"
"I've found what you asked me to investigate."
Milania chuckled, "I knew I could count on you. You work so efficiently."
"I reviewed the surveillance footage from the bar entrance and some nearby shops," the person on the other end of the line said. "I saw that when we were entering the bar, a car from the Thomson family happened to pass by."
"What did you say? The Thomson family?" Milania was shocked. "Who... Who was in the car?”
