One night stand with my president(chapter 175)

Chapter 175: Offer Herself in Gratitude

Sam instinctively looked at Harrison.

Seeing the dim look in his friend's eyes, Sam sighed inwardly.

To be honest, he never imagined that Harrison would ever face setbacks in matters of the heart, especially with such caution and trepidation.

But considering that the person in question was Adeline, it made sense.

If he had spent five years in close quarters with Adeline, Sam might have...

Sam thought, "Oh, dear. What am I thinking?"

Sam quickly dismissed the thought.

If Harrison found out what he was thinking, he'd never hear the end of it.

The conversation didn't continue, and with Daphne and Sam around, the atmosphere quickly became lively again. Adeline also kept a slight smile on her face.

"Ms. Hensley, I'm heading back now." After dinner, Daphne took Adeline's hand and said, "I feel like we've hit it off. We should get together more often in the future. I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities."

She then winked at Harrison.

Harrison's face darkened as he thought, "Is Daphne not satisfied with causing me enough . trouble already?"

To prevent Daphne from saying anything else inappropriate, Harrison said indifferently, "It's getting late. You should head back and rest. I'll have someone take you."

He glanced at Sam.

The latter immediately understood and stepped forward with a smile, saying, "Let's go."

"Alright, I'll stop bothering Mr. Thomson,"

Daphne teased again before leaving with Sam.

Now, only Harrison and Adeline were left in the room.

"I'll take you home," Harrison said.

Adeline subtly took a step back.

"No need, Mr. Thomson. I can manage on my own."

Harrison's gaze darkened.

After a moment, he replied, "Alright."

At Marifort City Hospital.

Milania looked at her son lying in the hospital bed, her face full of concern and reproach.

"Ronan, why couldn't you just stay out of trouble? Why did you have to play the hero?

Now look at you, all covered in injuries..."

"Mom," Ronan said helplessly, "You've been saying that for days. I'm getting tired of hearing it."

"Well, I have to keep saying it, or you won't learn your lesson." Milania frowned. "And sometimes, good intentions don't always pay off. How long has it been since you were injured? Has that lady you saved even come to see you?"

Just as Milania finished speaking, there was a sudden knock on the door.

"Who could it be at this hour?"

A trace of impatience flashed in Milania's eyes as she walked over to open the door.

Standing outside was a young lady in a light blue dress, her hair neatly tied back, and her face glowing with a grateful and respectful smile.

She was holding a fruit basket, filled with fresh fruits and adorned with notes that read "Get Well Soon" and other similar messages.

"Who are you?" Milania asked, slightly taken aback as she looked at the unfamiliar lady.

"Ma'am, may I ask if Mr. Ronan Thomson is staying in this room?" the young lady asked cautiously.

"Yes, but why are you looking for my son?" Milania's face held a smile, but her eyes grew cold

From the lady's modest dress and the simple fruit basket, Milania could tell she came from a poor family, so Milania didn't think much of her.

"Ma'am, I came to thank him," the lady said.

"A few days ago, when I was nearly harassed, Mr. Ronan stepped in and saved me."

Upon learning the lady's identity, Milania looked even colder.

She thought, "This is the woman responsible for my son's injuries. And she still has the nerve to show up in front of me."

"There's no need," Milania said coolly. "He needs rest now, so you can leave. Also, young lady, it's important to behave properly to avoid causing trouble for others and yourself."

The lady's face flushed red at Milania's words.

She hadn't expected such hostility from Milania.

For a moment, she was unsure whether to go in or just leave.

"Mom, don't say that. It's not like she wanted to be harassed." Fortunately, Ronan spoke up in her defense. "Besides, didn't you just complain that she hadn't come to see me? Now that she's here, you're still not happy?"

"I... fine. I don't want to argue with you," Milania sighed, but her attitude toward the lady didn't improve.

She had only wanted to find an excuse to keep Ronan from getting involved in such things again.

But she never thought the lady would show up right after.

Milania wished the lady would never appear again.

The lady quickly walked to Ronan's bedside and said, "Mr. Ronan, thank you so much for saving me the other day. I don't even know how to repay you."

"It was nothing. Don't put it to heart," Ronan said with a light laugh as he picked up a glass of water and took a sip.

"Mr. Ronan, it's such a big favor.." The lady bit her lip, her face suddenly turning shy and determined. "If you don't mind, I'm willing to offer myself in gratitude."

Ronan spat out his water in shock.

Milania's expression also changed, her anger rising.

But before she could say anything, Ronan quickly responded, "No need. It was just a small favor. Offering yourself is way too much. Seriously, it's not necessary."

At Ronan's words, Milania's expression finally softened Milania thought, "Fortunately, he isn't entirely foolish."

"But.." The lady's eyes reddened. "You were so badly injured."
