Chapter 165: He Can't Have Such Thoughts
After a while, Georgia gently patted Adeline on the shoulder and said, "If you're feeling down, I can accompany you for a drink."
Adeline shook her head and said, "Thank you, but I have to catch a flight soon."
Georgia looked puzzled and asked, "Are you still planning to go back tonight?"
"Yeah, there's nothing much for me to do here," Adeline said. "Do you want to come back with me?"
"Yes."
Georgia originally thought she could wait until tomorrow to leave.
But there was nothing pressing in Marifort City, so she might as well go back with Adeline.
"Then I'll help you book a flight ticket."
"No need, I can handle it myself, and besides, it s reimbursable."
"Alright."
The two packed their luggage and headed to the airport.
The car stopped at a red light.
Adeline casually turned her head to look out the window.
There was a bar on the side of the road, and at that moment, a man and a woman were walking towards it.
When Adeline saw the woman, she was stunned.
Adeline thought, "Could that be Milania?"
But she only saw the person's back and thought it looked a lot like Milania.
But why would Milania be at the bar?
And who was the man next to her?
Judging by their posture, they seemed close.
The green light came on, and the car continued forward.
Adeline frowned slightly.
She thought, "Did I see wrong? Or was that really Milania?"
"Did you see the people at the bar entrance just now?" she turned to ask Georgia.
Georgia was Harrison's bodyguard and had been with Harrison for several years, so she should know Milania.
"I didn't," Georgia answered truthfully.
Adeline looked back again, but by now, she couldn't see those two anymore.
Milania didn't return to the hospital until the morning.
She was still holding breakfast in her hands.
Originally, she thought Ronan wouldn't be awake yet, but when she quietly opened the door to the ward, she found Ronan wide awake in bed.
"Why are you awake so early?" Milania asked with a smile. "This doesn't seem like your style." Ronan didn't say anything, so Milania continued, "Since you're awake, let's have breakfast."
"Mom, where did you go last night?" Ronan
suddenly asked.
Milania's movements paused briefly, then she smiled and said, "Where did I go last night? I was sleeping in the hospital all night and only went out in the morning."
"That's not true," Ronan said. "You did go out last night and didn't come back all night."
Hearing this, Milania frowned. "Who told you that?"
"That's not important," Ronan said. "Where did you go?"
It was one of Ronan's college friends who told him.
This friend was from Marifort City and had returned there after graduating from college.
Last night, he went to a bar and happened to see Milania.
Of course, Milania quickly went upstairs, and his friend only saw her when she went upstairs.
His friend had seen a photo of Ronan with
Milania on Ronan's phone before, so he called Ronan to say he saw his mother at the bar.
Initially, his friend just remembered Ronan after seeing Milania and wanted to call and ask how he was doing lately. During the conversation, he casually mentioned seeing Milania at the bar.
Ronan was still half-asleep at the time, but when he heard that Milania was at the bar, he suddenly felt something was wrong.
As far as he knew, Milania hated places like bars.
Why would she go to a bar in Marifort City?
So he asked a few more questions and learned from his friend that there was a man with Milania.
Ronan suddenly felt uneasy.
He hardly slept all night.
He had the night guard at the hospital watch to see when Milania would return and tell him immediately.
Milania didn't return until morning.
Who did she go to the bar with last night, staying out all night?
Seeing Ronan's serious expression, Milania knew she couldn't brush this off any more and smiled, "Some friends heard I came to Marifort City and insisted on meeting up. I couldn't refuse, so l went for a drink, drank a bit too much, and fell asleep there."
"You have friends in Marifort City? Why didn't know?" Ronan asked.
"You brat, you think you know all my friends?" Milania teased, "It's not surprising to have friends anywhere, right?"
Hearing this, Ronan felt like it made sense.
"So the man with you last night is your friend?"
"Who else could he be?" Milania replied frankly, "We just happened to meet at the entrance and went in together."
This brat even knew there was a man with her.
Fortunately, they didn't do anything too excessive in public. It was only in the private area on the second floor that they acted intimately.
Seeing Milania so straightforward, Ronan finally relaxed.
At the same time, he felt a little guilty.
How could he doubt his mother like that?
From childhood to adulthood, Milania had always been loving and considerate towards him.
Sometimes, even his father would envy him, saying that in this world, Milania loved him the most.
How could he have such thoughts? Ronan was filled with remorse.
Milania knew Ronan very well. Seeing his expression, she knew he must be feeling guilty.
She breathed a sigh of relief in her heart.
"Alright child, why so many questions today? You look like you didn't sleep well last night.
Eat your breakfast and get some more sleep," Milania said.
With a weight lifted off his heart, Ronan naturally felt sleepy.
After eating something, he fell asleep.
Milania watched him sleep, a hint of determination flickering in her eyes.
Ronan was still in a cast, so he couldn't leave the hospital.
He wouldn't have someone track her for no reason.
It seemed someone inadvertently saw her at the bar or nearby and informed Ronan.
Milania thought, "It's despicable."
Taking advantage of Ronan still sleeping, Milania left the ward and made a phone call.
Milania said, "Check if anyone related to me or Ronan appeared at the bar or near the bar I visited last night!"
Adeline didn't get home until late at night.
But in the morning, she arrived at the office on time.
"Ms. Hensley, you're back!"
Her colleagues in the president's office were all pleased to see her.
In fact, aside from Amber, everyone in the president's office was highly capable.
Having Adeline there made everyone feel more at ease.
Adeline greeted her colleagues with a smile.
"Ms. Hensley, Eleanor will be coming to the company today to shoot the spokesperson photos." Anna handed her a document and said, "The location and photographer are all arranged. Take a look."
