Chapter 150: Your Boyfriend Treats You Well
"Do you still want to cover for him?"
Harrison's face darkened. "Do you care about him that much?"
"What's your logic?" Adeline said with amusement, "That's so unreasonable."
In the bustling hotel lobby, Adeline didn't want to argue with Harrison there, so she tugged on his sleeve and softened her tone, saying, "Let's think about what to eat quickly. I'm so hungry."
Harrison couldn't resist her like this and immediately softened.
"What do you want to eat?" Harrison asked.
"I heard Marifort City has a great night market street. How about we go there?"
"Alright," Harrison said.
Adeline picked up her phone to look up the location of the night market street.
Seeing her with her phone, Harrison knew what she wanted to do and said, "No need, I know where it is."
"Hmm?" Adeline looked at him puzzled.
"How do you know?"
"After visiting the zoo, I checked out all the fun places in Marifort City," Harrison said casually.
Adeline was moved.
Did he look this up to go out with her?
She thought she might be overthinking, but she couldn't stop herself.
Harrison started walking, noticing out of the corner of his eye that Adeline was still standing there. He asked, "Why are you still standing there? Aren't you hungry?"
Adeline snapped out of it and quickly caught up.
Harrison's car was parked at the hotel entrance.
There was no driver. Harrison was driving, and Adeline sat in the passenger seat.
"Are you sure you know the way? Do you need to use navigation?" Adeline asked.
"No need," Harrison said. "I've looked at the map before."
"Even if you've seen the map, you can't remember it all at once, right?"
Harrison smiled and started the car.
Adeline thought for a moment.
If it were someone else, they may not remember it, but he was Harrison...
Harrison indeed drove the whole way without using navigation and parked the car near the night market.
As soon as Adeline got out of the car, she heard the noisy sounds of the night market and smelled the various food scents.
Here, she could feel the vibrant atmosphere.
"So many people here. This night market must be really good." Adeline eagerly said, "I want to eat a lot."
She hadn't had much appetite all day, but now she suddenly felt extremely hungry.
The night market was crowded, and the many steaming food stalls made it feel not so cold.
They each bought a cup of hot coffee at the entrance of the night market.
The first thing Adeline noticed was the steaming baked sweet potatoes.
"One roast sweet potato, please," Adeline said eagerly.
"Sure!" said the stall owner.
"Do you want one?" Adeline turned to ask
Harrison, "It's really good!"
"No, thanks."
Seeing he wasn't interested, Adeline didn't insist.
When the stall owner handed her the baked sweet potato, Adeline was about to pay, but Harrison beat her to it.
"Young lady, your boyfriend treats you so well!" the stall owner said with a smile.
Adeline, holding the sweet potato, shivered and quickly said, "He's not...”
"It's just a baked sweet potato," Harrison said calmly, "There will be many more times I'll treat her well in the future.”
Adeline looked at him in surprise.
"Good lad! Handsome and thoughtful, no wonder you have such a beautiful girlfriend!" the stall owner said.
Adeline didn't know how to respond, so she forced a smile and left the sweet potato stall.
She held the coffee in one hand, making it inconvenient to eat the sweet potato.
Harrison noticed immediately and said, "Give me your coffee. I'll hold it for you."
Adeline was still in a daze, but he had already taken her coffee.
"Eat it while it's hot. It's better that way."
"Okay, thank you."
The stall owner gave Adeline a small spoon just now.
As Adeline scooped the sweet potato, she thought about what Harrison had said.
She thought, "Did he just imply he is my boyfriend?"
If Adeline had any doubts before, now she felt certain. Harrison liked her.
Even now, she was still shocked by this conclusion.
He was Harrison, after all. How could he like her, his subordinate?
Besides, their relationship was more complicated than just "boss and subordinate."
He was the head of the Thomson Group, born into a rich family, while she was just a humble secretary.
As her thoughts were jumbled, she suddenly heard Harrison ask, "Is it good?"
Adeline nodded instinctively and said, "Yes, it's delicious."
The sweet potato was indeed tasty, fragrant, and sweet.
"Let me try it."
Hearing him say this, Adeline didn't think much and scooped a bite, offering it to him.
Harrison took the bite directly from her spoon.
"Hmm, it is good."
Adeline said, "I should have bought two, one for you.."
Adeline stopped mid-sentence, suddenly feeling a bit nervous.
Their earlier actions were too intimate, weren't they? But neither of them felt anything was off, and it all felt so natural, as if they were supposed to be like this.
"No need, one bite is enough." Harrison hadn't noticed her change.
"Okay."
Adeline quietly agreed, continuing to eat her sweet potato.
"What else do you want to eat?"
Just then, the aroma of barbecue wafted through the air.
"I want some barbecue!" Adeline said.
"Okay, let's get some," Harrison said.
They walked a bit further and found a skewer stall.
There were a few tables and chairs set up beside the stall.
Several men were sitting there, drinking and eating barbecue.
"Do you want to eat here? There's an empty table over there," Adeline said.
"Up to you."
Adeline hesitated and said, "Let's not."
It seemed a bit out of place for Harrison to sit at such a roadside stall.
Since they decided not to eat there, Adeline didn't order much, just picked a few skewers and asked the boss to grill them.
While waiting for the skewers to be ready, one of the men who was drinking and eating came over and stopped beside Adeline.
"Hey, beauty."
Harrison's face turned cold, and he stepped in front of Adeline immediately.
"What do you want?" he asked coldly.
Harrison was tall and clearly not someone to mess with.
The man was momentarily frightened but then remembered his buddies were nearby and regained his courage.
"Why so fierce? We were playing a dare over there, and I lost. My punishment is to get this beautiful lady's contact information," the man said.
