One night stand with my president( Chapter 164)

Chapter 164: Aren’t You Guilty?

"Um, I will just sit down, alright? Please stop crying," Georgia said awkwardly, then sat down on the sofa. Seeing Georgia like this made Adeline unable to hold back a smile through her tears.

"I'm not crying because of you," Adeline said as she took a tissue and wiped her eyes.

Hearing this, Georgia breathed a sigh of relief.

She had never made a woman cry before.

She had only beaten men to tears.

If Adeline had cried because of her, Georgia wouldn't have known what to do.

Adeline sat down next to Georgia.

Georgia noticed she still held tissues and asked nervously, "Are you going to cry again?"

"No," Adeline said.

Actually, she wasn't someone who cried often.

It was just that occasionally, she couldn't hold it in.

Georgia looked at her and suddenly asked, "Did you cry because you had a fight with Mr. Thomson?"

After asking, Georgia was stunned.

She had never been one to gossip.

Why was she asking Adeline this question?

Perhaps Adeline's tears had confused her...

Adeline didn't know how to answer.

After hesitating for a moment, she nodded. "Yes, I suppose."

Although they hadn't argued openly, it was almost like they had.

Now that the topic had been broached, Georgia continued, "Since you both still care about each other, why did you fight?"

"Because of a misunderstanding," Adeline said softly.

"If there's a misunderstanding, then clear it up,"

Georgia said seriously. "Whether he misunderstood you or you misunderstood him, just explain it to each other, right?"

Adeline hesitated slightly.

She still hadn't explained to Harrison that she and Russell were not what he thought.

Perhaps it was his indifferent and mocking demeanor that made her unsure how to

approach it.

Or maybe she felt that even if she explained, it wouldn't make a difference.

Could she and Harrison be together?

If not, why bother explaining?

But Georgia's words ignited hope in Adeline's heart.

Her thoughts became clearer.

She wanted to clarify things with him.

She didn't want him to continue misunderstanding.

Regardless of his reaction or whether it mattered, all she wanted was for him to know that there was nothing between her and Russell.

Adeline suddenly stood up from the sofa.

She needed to go back and find Harrison right now.

"What's the matter?" Georgia was startled by her sudden movement.

"I need to go back."

After saying this, Adeline picked up her phone and started booking the next available flight.

After booking the flight, she still felt it was too slow, so she directly called Harrison.

At this time, Harrison should have been off the plane for some time.

The call was quickly answered.

However, it was Myra's voice that came through.

"Ms. Hensley, do you need something?"

Myra asked coldly.

Adeline hadn't expected Myra to answer the call.

But she quickly composed herself and said to Myra, "Mrs. Thomson, I need to speak to Mr. Thomson about something."

She heard Myra chuckle.

"Ms. Hensley, what do you want to say to Harrison? You want to tell him that there's nothing between you and Russell and that everything today was just a misunderstanding?"

Adeline fell silent.

Myra hit the nail on the head.

"Ms. Hensley, I think you've forgotten everything I told you before." Myra's tone turned colder. "I absolutely will not allow you to be with Harrison. You two are not meant to be together. Do I need to spell it out for you?"

It was like a bucket of cold water being poured over her.

Adeline felt a chill run from head to toe.

She knew. How could she not?

But Harrison's closeness always made her lose her mind.

"Mrs. Thomson," Adeline's tone was somewhat bitter as she continued, "do Mr. Thomson's feelings not matter to you?"

"Of course they matter. He's my son," Myra said.

"I know he may like you a bit now, but do you think this liking can last a lifetime? It's just because you've been around him for a while, he has some feelings for you. When he has to choose a lifelong partner, he'll understand that you and him can't be together."

It felt like Adeline's chest was being squeezed.

If it were anyone else, Adeline would have no problem arguing back, but unfortunately, the person saying this was Harrison's mother.

"Maybe you're thinking that even if I oppose it, you can still rely on Harrison. If so, you'll be the one who breaks our relationship. Ms. Hensley, do you feel at ease doing this?" Myra said.

After saying this, without waiting for Adeline to answer, Myra hung up the phone.

And then, she deleted the call record.

At that moment, Harrison walked down from the second floor and happened to see Myra holding his phone.

"Mom, why do you have my phone?" Harrison frowned slightly.

"Oh, I took the wrong one," Myra said without changing her expression.

She put down Harrison's phone and picked up her own from the side.

Harrison felt something was off.

He had just returned to the house and was summoned by his grandfather to the study to inquire about Ronan's condition.

He had left his phone in the living room.

Myra said she took the wrong one, but their phones weren't the same model. How could she have taken the wrong one?

Harrison picked up his phone and checked it.

There were a few new messages, all work-related, and Sam asked when he would return.

There were no messages from Adeline. Nor any missed calls.

Harrison's gaze dimmed slightly.

He replied to Sam's message, [Meet for drinks, same place.]

After sending it, he grabbed his coat and prepared to leave.

"It's late. Where are you going?" Myra asked hurriedly, "Are you not staying at the house?"

"No, I'm going to see Sam."

Upon hearing this, Myra breathed a sigh of relief.

She feared Harrison would go back to Marifort City to find Adeline again.

As long as he wasn't going to find Adeline now, it was fine.

"Go ahead, take care."

Before Harrison left, he looked at Myra again and asked, "Mom, are you sure you just took the wrong phone?"

Myra calmly replied, "What else could it be?

Why, do you suspect even your mother?"

Hearing this, Harrison didn't say anything else and turned to leave.

Meanwhile, after Myra hung up the phone on Adeline's end, Adeline put down her phone and slumped back on the sofa.

Georgia watched her from the side, unsure of what to say.

She had just heard Adeline refer to the person on the phone as "Mrs. Thomson."

Georgia wasn't stupid and knew what had happened.
