One night stand with my president(chapter 148)

Chapter 148: Call My Name

The man at the door was wearing a long black trench coat, with the winter chill from outside still clinging to him.

He gazed at her, his eyes seeming to hold a thousand unspoken words.

"Mr. Thomson, why are you here?"

Adeline had never expected Harrison to suddenly appear in Marifart City, right at her doorstep.

Wasn't he supposed to be with Eleanor?

He had been having lunch with Eleanor just this afternoon.

But now, he was here.

"Can I come in first?" Harrison rubbed his temples. "I'm a bit tired."

Adeline was silent for a moment, then said, "Mr.Thomson, you can ask the hotel to prepare a new room for you to rest."

Seeing her tense expression, Harrison smiled.

He said, "Hmm, that makes sense."

Just as Adeline was about to close the door, she heard Harrison say, "But I don't want to."

Adeline was speechless.

Harrison simply turned sideways and walked into the room.

Seeing the cola Adeline had just been drinking on the table, he frowned slightly.

"Drinking cola behind my back again?"

Adeline replied confidently, "I was drinking it openly."

"If I didn't see it, then it's not open," Harrison said.

"It's not my fault you didn't see it," Adeline muttered under her breath.

It was he who left abruptly.

Seeing her muttering, Harrison found it both amusing and endearing.

"Are you mad at me?" he asked, his tone laced with a teasing charm.

Adeline gave a forced smile.

She said, "Mr. Thomson, you're overthinking. Why would I be mad at you? There's no reason."

"If you're not mad at me, why are you calling me'Mr. Thomson' and using such formal terms?"

Harrison raised his hand, reaching past her to close the door.

Adeline looked down and said, "I just think this kind of state suits us better."

"You say you're not mad, but that's clearly an angry remark," Harrison said with a smile.

Adeline felt a bit frustrated, annoyed that he had come to Marifort City without reason, and annoyed that he saw through her so easily.

Even if she was making angry remarks, so what?

Wouldn't it be best for both of them to continue like this?

Harrison glanced at the cola and asked, "We agreed you'd drink less cola. Did you forget our agreement?"

Adeline said, "Does it still matter?" Harrison said, "Of course, it does."

Adeline didn't want to discuss this any further.

"Mr. Thomson, you should leave now. I want to rest."

"Hmm, playing with Ronan this afternoon must have been tiring, huh?" Harrison's tone was tinged with jealousy.

Adeline bluntly said, "Yes, it was tiring but also quite enjoyable. It's no wonder many female colleagues at the company like being around him."

"What about you?" Harrison's eyes darkened.

"Do you like him too?"

Adeline didn't want to drag innocent Ronan into this.

So she didn't lie.

"I don't like him," Adeline said. "But it's true I had fun with him."

"And you don't have fun with me?" Harrison asked coldly.

"It's just not bad," Adeline said perfunctorily.

"Just not bad?" Harrison's eyes narrowed.

Adeline felt a dangerous aura approaching.

Her scalp tingled slightly. Harrison's oppressive presence wasn't something easily ignored.

Harrison leaned in slightly, looking at her.

Their faces were very close, as if they would touch in the next second.

Adeline's heart pounded. She wanted to evade, but Harrison suddenly embraced her waist, holding her tightly.

"Mr. Thomson! You..."

"Call my name," he said.

Adeline felt dizzy, though she had only had cola, it now felt as if she were drunk.

"Har... Harrison."

"Hmm, that's better." Harrison smiled with

satisfaction.

As he held her slim waist, his heart was in turmoil.

But he suppressed the desire within him, coaxing her. "Don't be mad. There's nothing between Eleanor and me."

Hearing Eleanor's name, Adeline suddenly sobered up.

It was like a bucket of cold water had been poured over her, quelling all her emotions.

"Yeah, I know," she said woodenly.

"You don't believe me," Harrison observed her reaction and said.

It wasn't a question, but a statement.

The way she looked clearly showed she didn't believe his words.

Adeline smiled and said, "You don't need to explain this to me. Besides..."

Eleanor's call had made him leave Marifort City in the middle of the night.

How was that nothing?

But she was too tired to argue about it.

It seemed meaningless.

She had already decided to return to the simple boss-employee relationship with Harrison.

She tried to step out of Harrison's embrace, but he wouldn't let go.

"I think it's very necessary to explain," Harrison said. "The reason I left as soon as she called was because I promised her not to refuse five of her requests."

"What?" Adeline frowned, puzzled. "Five requests? Why can't you refuse?".

Why would Harrison agree to something like that for Eleanor?

"Because she provided me with a clue," Harrison said. "It's related to something I've been investigating for a long time."

"What is it?" Adeline asked.

"Something from many years ago. It's a long story. I'll explain it to you later," Harrison said.

"Eleanor gave me a clue, and in exchange, I

promised not to refuse her five requests."

After a pause, Harrison added, "Of course, the requests must be acceptable to me, such as visiting her in the hospital when she's sick, picking her up from the hospital, and having a meal with her. This time was the last one."

Eleanor wanted to use this to blackmail him into an engagement, but that was wishful thinking.

After hearing his explanation, Adeline thought about the recent events between him and Eleanor.

Everything seemed to make sense.

"So that's how it is. Now can you believe me?" Harrison's lips curved into a smile. "I don't like her, and I never have."

"She's not your unrequited love?" Adeline asked, puzzled.

"I don't have such a thing," Harrison said without hesitation.

Adeline's heart started to pound again. She felt pathetic, just hearing him say these

things made her so happy.

"I... I understand," Adeline said softly. "Now, let go of me."

However, Harrison had no intention of letting her go. Instead, he continued. "I've finished explaining my side. Now, it's your turn."
