One night stand with my president(chapter 147)

Chapter 147: Can’t I Be Here?

His voice sounded like that of a venomous snake, hissing and trying to burrow into her mind, leaving behind its terrifying poison.

Eleanor said, "I just wanted to return to my homeland."

"Really? How come I never noticed before that you had such a strong longing for home?" The man sneered, "Are you really doing it for your homeland, or for Harrison?"

"Let go of me first. We can talk properly. You're hurting my hair."

"But I want you to hurt," the man said cruelly.

"Only when you're in pain will you understand how much pain I'm in!"

With that, the man pulled her hair and dragged her towards the bed in the bedroom.

"Lance, let go of me!" Eleanor cried out in pain.

Lance Tillman ignored her suffering. Only when they reached the bed did he finally let go of her hair, roughly throwing her onto the bed.

Eleanor felt dizzy.

Fortunately, after throwing her onto the bed,

Lance made no further moves, just stood by the bed, coldly staring at her.

She struggled to sit up and forced a smile as she said, "Lance, you misunderstood me. There's nothing between Harrison and me.

Think about it, if I really had feelings for him, why would I have gone abroad?"

"Is that so?"

Lance leaned down slightly, staring into her eyes.

Lance said, "Then tell me, in your heart, who is more important, him or me?"

Eleanor immediately said, "Of course it's you! In my heart, he can't even compare to a strand of your hair."

She didn't want to say such insincere things, but she knew very well that Lance was a madman.

If she didn't say things he wanted to hear, he would torment her.

"My Eleanor, you truly are the big star I made famous." Lance's fingers lightly caressed her cheek. "Your acting skills have improved so much that sometimes even I can't tell if you're speaking the truth or lying."

"Everything I say is true, Lance. You have to believe me!" Eleanor grabbed his hand, urgently pleading.

"Is that so? Then prove it to me," Lance said.

Eleanor's expression stiffened.

She knew what he meant.

He wanted her to please him, just as she had done countless times before.

She slowly stood up and began to undress.

Once she had removed all her clothes, she reached out to unbutton his shirt.

She had done this countless times and was very skilled at it.

But this time, she felt an unprecedented sadness and humiliation.

As her trembling fingers unbuttoned Lance's shirt, all she could think of was the recent moments she had spent with Harrison.

Even though his attitude to her was always indifferent, at least he was someone she liked.

Being by his side made her happy.

If Harrison knew she was doing this with another man, he would surely despise her.

She could only blame herself for not resisting Lance's temptation back then and compromising for what she wanted.

She was too slow, and Lance, perhaps growing impatient, suddenly pushed her onto the bed and climbed on top of her.

The sunlight shimmered on the lake's surface.

At Roscier Lake, there was a boating activity.

Ronan rented a small boat and went boating on the lake with Adeline.

He didn't have any staff accompanying them, so it was iust the two of them on the boat.

"Adeline, Roscier Lake is so beautiful," Ronan said as he rowed.

"Yes, it's very beautiful," Adeline responded, then asked him, "Are you tired? Should we switch to the electric boat?"

"No, it's fine. I'm not tired at all," Ronan replied with a smile.

Adeline smiled too. "Young people are different."

"Adeline, you're still very young," Ronan said.

"Why do you sound like you're describing yourself as an old person?"

"I'm a few years older than you," Adeline said.

"Not by much. Besides, Adeline, you're so beautiful and have such fair skin. If you told people you were eighteen, they'd believe you."

When he said this, Ronan's face was full of sincerity.

Adeline laughed.

"It's not about looks. It's about

the state of mind. I can't go back to how I felt at eighteen."

Time always leaves marks on everyone's mind.

"If I could, I wish I could always stay by your side, Adeline."

When he said this, Ronan didn't dare look at her.

He didn't know what expression was on Adeline's face. Summoning his courage, he continued, "I want to help you forget all the things that trouble you and help you find your previous state of mind. Wherever you go, let me stay with you, Okay?"

He kept his head down, watching the oar in his hands, creating ripples on the lake.

After a while, he heard Adeline's gentle voice.

"Thank you, but we're not suited for each other."

Ronan's heart trembled.

Even though he had anticipated this outcome, it still hurt when the moment arrived.

"Besides, rather than looking back, I prefer to think more about the future," Adeline said.

"What's past is past, and the future is still waiting for me."

Ronan finally looked up at her.

His eyes were red.

"Can't I be part of your future?"

Adeline didn't avoid his gaze.

She looked at him and said, "I'm sorry."

They stared at each other until Ronan finally gave in.

He smiled bitterly, "Adeline, you don't have to feel sorry for me. You not liking me isn't something you need to apologize for."

Adeline said, "You're still young. You'll meet a better girl in the future."

"But Adeline, no one else is you," Ronan said, his voice trembling.

The boat slowly reached the shore.

Adeline and Ronan got off and walked to the shore.

It was as if nothing had happened on the boat.

Ronan checked the time and asked Adeline,

"We've been out for so long, it's getting dark. Adeline, do you want to get something to eat or go back to the hotel?"

"Let's go back to the hotel," Adeline said.

"I'm a bit tired."

"Okay."

After returning to her room, Adeline sat on the sofa, opened the cola she had just bought, and took a few sips.

Actually, she wasn't very tired, but she didn't feel like going out to eat with Ronan and she wasn't hungry.

Halfway through her cola, she heard a knock at the door.

Without thinking much, she walked to the door.

Due to the recent hotel fire, the security at this hotel was very tight, and with Ronan there, many of the Thomson family's bodyguards were secretly guarding, so there shouldn't be any problems.

When Adeline opened the door and saw who was standing there, she was instantly stunned.
