Chapter 145: You Must Be Mistaken
Eleanor was very happy now.
She heard that Adeline had gone to Marifort City to find Harrison, and she called Harrison back with just one phone call.
Eleanor wanted Adeline to know that in Harrison's heart, she was the most important person.
Even if it was fake, so what?
Eleanor was willing to immerse herself in this false illusion.
She looked affectionately at the man sitting opposite her.
Even though he showed little expression and occasionally looked down at his phone, as long as she could see him, she felt content.
"Harrison, I'm sorry. It's all my fault for suddenly fainting and making you come all the way back from Marifort City," Eleanor said with a smile.
"Did it interrupt your work?"
Without looking up, Harrison said, "Work wasn't interrupted, but fainting frequently is not a good habit."
Eleanor looked embarrassed.
While serving soup to Harrison, she said, "It's my fault. I insisted on dieting for no good reason. But I'm about to shoot endorsement photos, and I wanted to look better on camera."
With that, she placed the soup in front of Harrison.
"You haven't eaten much. Have some soup," Eleanor said.
"No need." Harrison didn't touch it.
"Remember, this is the last time."
Eleanor's expression stiffened.
After a while, she asked, looking hurt, "Harrison, does it have to be like this? It wasn't like this five years ago. What's wrong with me now? Tell me, and I'll change.
Okay?"
After she said this, Harrison finally glanced at her.
"Five years ago?"
Seeing his reaction, Eleanor hurriedly nodded.
"Yes, five years ago! Back then, you were very good to me, and things weren't like this between us."
Harrison looked at her quietly.
After a while, he asked, "Are you sure you're not mistaken?"
"What?"
"You must be mistaken," Harrison said.
In an instant, Eleanor felt as if she had been struck by lightning.
What did he mean by that?
When he said she misremembered, was he trying to say that they were like this five years ago?
No way, she clearly remembers him being nice to her back in the day ......
Eleanor suddenly realized that perhaps, over these five years, she had gradually confused
reality and fantasy.
It was impossible.
Could it be that all the kindness Harrison showed her was just her own fantasy that she believed to be real?
Eleanor's hands began to tremble slowly.
Eleanor said, "But five years ago, they all said we were a perfect match."
Harrison thought for a moment and said, "I don't remember. Maybe someone did make that joke, but it was just a joke."
After speaking, he looked at his watch.
Although he didn't say it, Eleanor could see that he was anxious to leave.
Was it so hard for him to stay with her?
At that moment, Harrison's phone suddenly rang.
Eleanor clearly saw his eyes light up when he saw the caller ID.
Eleanor thought, "Who is calling?"
"Hello?"
Harrison answered the call.
His voice seemed to carry a bit of cheerfulness.
Adeline calmly conveyed everything
Rowen had just told her to Harrison.
"Alright, I see," Harrison said.
After conveying the message, Adeline was about to hang up.
But she suddenly heard Harrison ask, "Besides this, is there anything else you want to tell me?"
Adeline paused for a moment and said, "The business here has been negotiated smoothly."
"Hmm, anything else?" Harrison said.
"No."
Harrison's eyes dimmed slightly.
At that moment, he suddenly heard a man's voice on the other end of the call.
"Adeline, we seem to be almost there."
That voice was Ronan.
Harrison's expression changed as he thought,"Adeline is with Ronan now? And Ronan had just said they were almost there. Where are they going?"
"Mr. Thomson, if there's nothing else, I have to go," Adeline said.
Before Harrison could say anything, Adeline hung up the phone.
His heart sank.
Harrison thought, "Where exactly are Ronan and Adeline going?"
"Harrison, what's wrong?" Eleanor asked with concern. "Is something wrong? Who was on the phone just now?"
"Nothing" Harrison didn't want to discuss his matters with her.
After thinking for a moment, he called back.
By this time, Ronan's car had already parked near Roscier Lake.
Just as Adeline was about to get out of the car, she saw Harrison calling again.
She thought something had happened and quickly answered.
"Mr. Thomson, what's the matter?"
"Are you with Ronan?" Harrison asked.
Adeline was taken aback. She didn't expect Harrison to ask this.
Adeline said, "Yes, he's right beside me. Do you need to talk to him?"
"What are you two doing together?"
Harrison asked in a deep voice.
Adeline answered honestly, "We are at Roscier Lake, planning to take a walk."
"You mean, you two are going out together?"
Harrison's face darkened.
Adeline could tell his tone wasn't right.
She chuckled and said, "Since Mr. Ronan and I are both in Marifort City and know each other, isn't it normal to go sightseeing together? Mr. Thomson, you're not unhappy, are you?"
Initially, it was Harrison who said he would take her around the various attractions in Marifort City, but he had broken his promise.
Eleanor called him, and he left.
Since that was the case, why couldn't she go out with someone else?
Hearing her words, Harrison remained silent for a long time.
Then he said, "Have fun."
"Hmm, don't worry, Mr. Thomson."
After that, Adeline hung up the phone.
As she held her phone, Adeline's eyes were slightly red.
"Was it Harrison calling again just now?" Ronan asked.
"Yes."
"What did he say?"
Adeline composed herself and said, "Nothing, he told us to have fun."
Hearing this, Ronan breathed a sigh of relief.
He had been worried that Harrison would ask Adeline to go back immediately.
"Adeline, with me around, you'll definitely have a great time."
Adeline smiled and said, "Don't worry about me."
"How could I not? Going out with a beauty like you is my pleasure."
Ronan noticed that Adeline was not in a good mood, so he kept trying to cheer her up.
She had to admit Ronan was good at making people happy. On the way to the ticket office, Adeline laughed a few times at his jokes.
Ronan thought, he could make Adeline smile, whereas Harrison only made her unhappy.
In this aspect, he should be slightly better.
After buying the tickets, they walked into the
Scenic area together and strolled by the lake.
