Chapter 134: Watching a Movie Together
Harrison never drank this kind of thing.
But looking at Adeline's bright, expectant eyes, he couldn't refuse.
"Alright," he said.
Adeline had been ready for Harrison to decline, but she didn't expect him to agree so quickly.
They left the restaurant and walked to the coffee shop across the street.
Harrison said, "Since we're getting coffee, why don't we watch a movie afterward?"
He seemed calm as he spoke, but his heart was pounding.
He had never drunk coffee or watched a movie with another woman before.
The entertainment company under the Thomson Group had once produced a drama, and he had seen the protagonists do such things in it.
Adeline asked in surprise, "You want to watch a movie?"
She had been with Harrison for five years and had never seen him go to the cinema.
"Yes, recently the Thomson Group's entertainment company released a new movie, and I want to see how it turned out on the big screen."
"I see." Adeline nodded understandingly.
"Then I'll check the tickets after we get the coffee."
Although it was a bit unbelievable that the two of them would watch a movie in Marifort City, it wasn't the most unbelievable thing recently.
Inside the coffee shop, Adeline chose her drink, then picked a milder one for Harrison.
After getting the coffee, she inserted a straw into Harrison's cup first and handed it to him.
Harrison took it and took a sip.
"How is it?" Adeline asked, full of anticipation.
She loved coffee, and Harrison hadn't had much before. It felt like she was recommending her favorite thing to someone
else, eagerly hoping they would like it too.
"Not bad," Harrison said.
Adeline's eyes curved into a smile.
"I'll check the movie tickets now."
She took out her phone and opened the ticketing app.
"There's a cinema in a nearby mall with a show starting in half an hour," Adeline said.
"It'll take about five minutes to walk there. Shall we go?"
"Sure," Harrison said.
"Then let's go.”
They walked side by side on the street.
Adeline found the scene quite surreal. She was actually walking to the mall with Harrison, both holding coffee, and their purpose was to watch a movie.
It felt almost like they were a couple.
Adeline quickly shook her head.
She was going crazy for thinking so.
Adeline thought, "Harrison wants to see the movie produced by the Thomson Group's entertainment company, so it's for work, and I'm working."
She couldn't overthink it.
"What are you doing?" Harrison asked curiously, "Do you have a headache?"
"No," Adeline said awkwardly. "Maybe I'm just not used to the air here."
He didn't believe her at all.
As they talked, they entered the mall. The cinema was on the fourth floor.
Since it was a workday, there weren't many people in the cinema.
Their outstanding appearance attracted attention as soon as they entered.
"Look at those two! Are they celebrities?"
"No way, what celebrities would come to the
movies so openly without hats or masks?"
"But they're so good-looking! And they look so well-matched! Are they a couple?"
"Definitely, didn't you see the handsome guy looking at the pretty woman with so much love in his eyes?"
"I didn't expect to see such a perfect couple while coming to watch a movie!"
Adeline and Harrison didn't know about the whispered comments.
Adeline was watching the previews for popular movies on the cinema's hall screen.
Harrison was watching her.
Once inside the cinema, Harrison had no intention of watching the movie.
His gaze just wanted to stay on her.
Adeline seemed to sense his gaze and turned slightly to look at him.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
Just then, the lights in the theater dimmed.
The urge to kiss her almost overwhelmed
Harrison, but he forced himself to hold back.
If he really kissed her impulsively, it would only push her further away.
"Nothing," Harrison said, forcing himself not to look at her. "The movie is starting, just watch it."
Adeline thought he was acting strange.
But the movie had started, so she didn't think too much.
As expected from the Thomson Group's entertainment company, the movie was of high quality.
It was a romantic suspense film, and in the end, the protagonists caught the villain and kissed on the beach.
The scene was very romantic.
In their theater, a few couples had already started kissing passionately.
Although there weren't many people, and they were spaced out, they could still see.
Adeline felt a bit embarrassed.
She wanted to suggest to Harrison that they leave since the movie was over, but when she turned, she saw Harrison sweating.
She was startled.
"Mr. Thomson, are you feeling unwell?"
Harrison gave her a long look.
He was indeed very uncomfortable.
God knows how strong his self-control had to be to stop himself from kissing her.
"Nothing. let's go," Harrison said.
After leaving the mall and feeling the cold air outside, Harrison's urge subsided a lot.
"Mr. Thomson, where to next?" Adeline asked.
"Let's go back to the hotel to rest," Harrison said.
"We have a dinner engagement tonight."
"Okay."
Adeline made a call, and soon a driver pulled up in front of them.
Shortly after getting into the car, Adeline felt
sleepy.
Seeing her drowsy look, Harrison asked, "Didn't sleep well last night?"
"I was already asleep when you called last night," Adeline said faintly.
If he hadn't suddenly called with such a random topic, would she have lost sleep?
"Really?" Harrison showed no remorse. "You reminded me, I told you not to hang up, but you still hung up without hesitation."
Adeline said, "Mr. Thomson, I didn't mean it."
Harrison glanced at her.
She was resting her head against the window, seemingly unable to keep her eyes open.
Seeing her like this, Harrison didn't feel like arguing about last night's call.
After all, he had interrupted her sleep by calling.
And today, he had made her fly all the way here.
A wave of guilt surged in him, and he said softly, "Wait until we get to the hotel to sleep. Sleeping in the car might make you catch a cold when you get out."
