Chapter 138: Couple’s Outfits
After breakfast, the two of them went to a nearby mall.
Adeline said to Harrison, "Mr. Thomson, why don't you find a place to rest while you wait for me?"
She was reluctant to have Harrison accompany her shopping for clothes.
After all, choosing and trying on clothes took time.
If Harrison got impatient, she would have to appease him.
"No worries," Harrison said calmly. "I'II accompany you and give you some advice."
"Are you sure?" Adeline said with a smile, "You can't get impatient later."
Harrison thought to himself, "How could I ever get impatient with anything related to her?"
Despite this thought, he said, "We'll see."
Adeline pouted.
She took Harrison to a clothing store in the mall.
Not wanting to make Harrison wait, she quickly picked a casual outfit and went to the fitting room to try it on.
After changing, she came out and stood in front of the mirror.
The sales assistant complimented her, "Miss, you're so beautiful and have a great figure. Everything looks good on you. And this is our latest collection. Not many people have it yet, so you won't have to worry about matching with anyone else."
Adeline turned to Harrison and asked, "What do you think?"
Harrison nodded. "It looks nice."
However, he then thought that anything would look good on Adeline in his eyes.
So he added, "No rush, you can try a few more. If you like them all, just buy them all."
"No need." Adeline didn't want Harrison to wait too long. "I'll iust get this one."
"I'm not in a hurry," Harrison said. "Try some more."
With Harrison's encouragement, Adeline picked another outfit and went to try it on.
The one she had just tried on wasn't to her liking after all.
After Adeline went into the fitting room, the sales assistant smiled at Harrison and said, "Is she your girlfriend? She's really pretty. By the way, we have a matching men's outfit for what she just tried on. Would you like to try it?"
Harrison was tempted and said, "Sure, bring it over."
When Adeline finished changing and came out of the fitting room, she didn't see Harrison where he had been sitting.
She found it odd until she saw another fitting room door open.
Harrison walked out from there.
"You're buying clothes too?" Adeline asked in shock.
Harrison usually wore custom-made clothes or high-end brands.
Would he really buy clothes from this store?
"Why not?" Harrison walked to the mirror and said, "I think this outfit looks pretty good."
Adeline walked to the mirror too.
Then she noticed that their outfits seemed to match.
Was this couple's clothing?
Her face felt a bit hot.
Was she overthinking it?
Harrison seemed unbothered. He looked at himself in the mirror seriously, then said, "It really is nice. I'll buy it."
"What? I..."
Before Adeline could finish her sentence,
Harrison said, "You look good in yours too, let's buy it."
"Alright," Adeline said.
The sales assistant came over with a smile and asked, "Would you like to change back or wear these out?"
"We'll wear these out," Harrison said.
"Okay, I'll pack your previous clothes."
At checkout, Adeline was about to pay when Harrison handed over his card.
Harrison said, "Use mine."
"Let me..."
Before Adeline could finish, Harrison had already handed over his card.
"'m not your kept man," Harrison said coolly.
Adeline was speechless.
She thought for a moment, then whispered to Harrison, "Actually, you have the qualifications for that."
Harrison glanced at her.
Adeline saw the words "Do you want to die?" in his eyes.
But she pretended not to see it.
After paying, Adeline told the staff, "Please keep our previous clothes here. Someone will come to pick them up later."
"Alright."
They walked out of the store together.
Adeline's heart was pounding.
She had never been this nervous while walking with Harrison before.
But this time felt different.
Harrison wasn't as calm as he appeared either.
He really wanted to hold her hand but was afraid of scaring her.
With each of them lost in their own thoughts, they walked to the mall's entrance.
The car was parked in a nearby parking lot, so they had to walk a bit further.
Just then, a man suddenly appeared and blocked their way.
"Wow, you two look so perfect together!"
The man's eyes lit up as he looked at them.
"Our fashion brand is in desperate need of models for our couple's clothing line. The pay is excellent. Would you be interested?"
Adeline was so shocked her hair almost stood on end.
This must be the first time Harrison was asked to model for a clothing brand.
She was really afraid Harrison would lose his temper, so she quickly stepped in front of him and said, "No, thank you."
"Are you sure?" The man looked disappointed and tried to persuade them further, "The pay is really good! We can discuss any terms you want! You two are so well-matched, a beautiful couple."
Adeline said, "Sorry, we have other plans."
With that, she quickly pulled Harrison away.
Harrison's gaze shifted downwards.
She was holding his wrist.
Although through the sleeve, he seemed to feel the warmth of her palm.
Adeline was still worried that Harrison might be angry, so she didn't notice anything else until they reached the car, where she let go of his wrist.
"Mr. Thomson, don't be mad," she consoled.
"That person didn't know who you were. He only invited you because you're so handsome."
"Why would I be mad?" Harrison said nonchalantly.
He was actually feeling quite happy because the man said they looked perfect together.
Harrison even wanted to thank that man.
"You're really not mad?" Adeline looked at him in surprise and said, "How could you not be mad about something like this?"
"Why, do I often get mad?" Harrison raised an eyebrow.
"Not really," Adeline said.
But wasn't this sort of thing offensive to Harrison?
"We're going out to have fun. No need to get upset over such trivial matters," Harrison said.
"Get in the car and think about where we should go."
