One night stand with my president(chapter 135)

Chapter 135: Taking You Somewhere

Now it was cold, and the temperature in Marifort City was even lower.

Adeline thought Harrison made sense. She didn't want to get sick just after arriving in Marifort City, so she had to hold on and wait until they reached the hotel to sleep.

Harrison, to keep her from falling asleep, started to find topics to chat about.

"How's your aunt lately?" Harrison asked.

"She's doing well. She'll have surgery in a few days. Thanks to you for helping find an expert, she's not as anxious now," Adeline said.

"It was nothing, just a small effort," Harrison said.

"I'll visit her when I get back."

Adeline hesitated and said, "There's no need, Mr. Thomson. You're very busy, and it's not necessary to take time out."

"It is necessary," Harrison said.

Adeline's heart skipped a beat.

He was saying those easily misunderstood words again.

Sometimes she really wanted to ask him if his actions were out of a boss's concern for a subordinate or something else.

After reaching the hotel, they took the elevator upstairs directly.

Harrison had already had a new room prepared for Adeline, just opposite his room.

Before entering her room, Adeline asked, "Mr. Thomson, what time is the dinner meeting tonight?"

Harrison's lips moved slightly as he said, "Nine o'clock."

"So late?" Adeline asked in confusion.

"Yes," Harrison said without changing his expression. "Perhaps people in Marifort City have dinner later."

Adeline had never been to Marifort City before, so she didn't doubt it and asked, "Is the restaurant nearby?"

"Yes, it's about ten minutes away."

"Okay."

Adeline nodded and entered her room.

She first took a quick shower, then set an alarm for eight o'clock in the evening.

It was a little past five now, so she could sleep for more than two hours.

She lay down on the bed and soon fell asleep.

When the alarm woke her, the room was already dark.

Adeline turned off the alarm, stretched, and sat up in bed.

She felt quite refreshed after the nap.

Adeline picked up her phone and saw a message from Harrison, which read, [Call me when you wake up.)

Adeline's heart skipped a beat as she thought, "Could it be something urgent with Harrison?"

But her phone wasn't on silent. If it were urgent, he could have called and woken her

up.

Thinking this, Adeline felt a bit relieved and called Harrison back.

Harrison answered quickly.

"Awake?"

"Yes," Adeline replied, hearing some noise on his end.

"Mr. Thomson, where are you?"

"At the dinner meeting," Harrison said.

"What?" Adeline jumped out of bed.

"The dinner has started? Didn't you say it was at nine?" Adeline asked.

"Yes, but the other party called to say they wanted to start earlier. Since I was free, I went," Harrison said.

He said this, but Adeline was full of doubt.

Harrison valued punctuality. If the other party changed the time at the last minute, he would typically be angry. How could he be so agreeable?

"Why didn't you wake me up?"

Harrison chuckled softly, "Why should I? Instead of having you force yourself to stay awake for this dinner, it's better for you to get more rest."

After all, he was just a guest at the dinner.

Whether someone accompanied him or not didn't really matter.

Although he did want Adeline by his side.

But her resting well was more important.

"Then I'll come over now. Send me the address."

"It's almost over. Why would you come?"

Harrison said.

Adeline was speechless.

As a secretary who wanted to do her job well, she felt very conflicted.

Harrison probably guessed what she was

thinking.

He chuckled softly and said, "It's just dinner. Your absence doesn't mean you're irresponsible. Don't overthink it."

"Then shall i come to pick you up later?" Adeline asked. She felt she should do something.

Harrison thought for a moment and said, "No need. Wait for me at the hotel. I'll take you somewhere."

Just as she was about to ask where, Harrison hung up.

Adeline looked at the dimming phone screen and sighed.

She quickly freshened up, changed clothes, and waited for a while before receiving Harrison's call.

"Come out. I'm at the hotel entrance."

Adeline left the hotel and indeed saw Harrison's car parked there.

He was leaning against the car, looking down at his phone.

But as soon as she came out, he looked up and smiled at her.

Although it was very cold, Adeline felt a wave of warmth from the bottom of her heart when she saw his smile.

"Mr. Thomson, it's so cold. Why don't you wait in the car?" she asked worriedly as she approached.

"It's fine. I'm not cold," Harrison said as he opened the passenger door for her. "Get in."

Adeline glanced inside the car. There was no driver.

"Is the driver not here?" Adeline asked.

"No, I'm driving," Harrison said.

After they both got in, Harrison handed Adeline a cup of coffee.

Adeline instinctively took it and realized it was still warm.

"Did you just buy this?"

"Yes," Harrison said as he started the car.

"It's cold, and you like this stuff, don't you?"

Thinking of Harrison going to buy coffee, Adeline couldn't help but laugh.

She thought her laugh was subtle, but Harrison noticed it.

"Are you laughing at me?"

"No," Adeline immediately straightened up.

"I just think you're a considerate boss."

Harrison chuckled.

Did she really think he would treat every subordinate like this?

"Mr. Thomson, where are we going?" Adeline asked, holding the coffee.

"You'll know when we get there," Harrison said.

"I need to know what kind of work it is so I can prepare," Adeline said.

Harrison frowned slightly and said, "I didn't say it was work. Can't I take you out for something other than work?"

Adeline was slightly stunned.

But weren't they in Marifort City for business?

They had dinner and watched a movie in the afternoon, and she didn't attend the dinner meeting in the evening. Now he was taking her out for something unrelated to work.

What was he planning?

Adeline wanted to ask, but seeing Harrison's stern face, she swallowed her words.

Adeline thought, "Forget it, wherever he was taking me, I'll just go with him."

She took a sip of the coffee he bought.

It wasn't the same as what she had in the afternoon, but it was a flavor she often drank.

How did Harrison know she liked this flavor?

Had he been observing what she drank at the office?
