One night stand with my president(Chapter 115)

Chapter 115: Not Feeling Like Talking

Bianca glanced at Oliver approvingly.

Despite his usual air of goofiness, Oliver asked the right questions.

However, Adeline hesitated to respond.

"Adeline? Do you like him?" Bianca inquired.

Adeline took a deep breath and said, "He's my boss. There's no love. Besides, there's no possibility between us."

"Why?" Bianca protested incredulously.

"You're excellent. You're his chief secretary. Without you, he probably couldn't handle many things smoothly, right?"

Adeline chuckled wryly, "That's different."

"I know what you mean. In terms of looks and capabilities, you're a match for him. It's just that we don't have a good family background..."

Bianca halted abruptly after saying this.

Indeed, wasn't the biggest issue between Adeline and Harrison their family backgrounds?

They were from ordinary families, while the Thomson family was rich.

How could they easily marry into such a rich family?

"But I feel like if you truly love each other, you can overcome any difficulties..." Bianca persisted, unwilling to accept defeat.

Adeline affectionately patted her head and said, "Alright, enough about true love. I respect Mr. Thomson, but I don't like him, so stop overthinking it."

Her feelings for Harrison were buried deep inside.

There was no need for Bianca to know, to spare her from worrying about Adeline's affairs.

Just then, the door of the ward suddenly opened.

Harrison appeared at the doorway.

He glanced at Adeline and said, "Lacey said she's feeling a bit dizzy and wants to rest."

"Oliver, you stay with Mom. I'll see Mr. Thomson and Adeline off," Bianca said.

Oliver nodded and entered the room.

Harrison politely said to Bianca, "We can leave on our own. You should go in and rest."

Bianca hesitated for a moment, then nodded and said, "Okay, take care."

Harrison silently turned and walked away.

For some reason, Adeline felt that his departure seemed somewhat desolate.

Just after they finished speaking, the door to the ward opened.

Adeline wondered if Harrison had heard their conversation.

"You should go. My mom has Oliver and me here, so it's fine," Bianca nudged her. "I'll call you once we have the test results."

Adeline glanced back at the ward.

Lacey was lying in bed, seemingly asleep.

So she gave Bianca a few more instructions before turning around and catching up to Harrison.

She didn't speak to Harrison until they were out of the hospital.

"Mr. Thomson, what were you and Lacey talking about just now?" Adeline asked proactively.

"Nothing much, just some ordinary conversation," Harrison replied casually without even looking at Adeline.

Adeline felt she was right about his mood.

Harrison was not pleased.

Lacey surely wouldn't have provoked him, and Harrison wouldn't be mad with a sick elder, so why was he suddenly in a bad mood? Could it be because he heard what she had just said?

Adeline wanted to explain to him, but Harrison suddenly said, "I have some things to attend to. Can you get home by yourself?"

Her words stuck in her throat, and she could only nod in response.

Harrison got into the car and quickly drove away.

Adeline stood alone at the entrance.

She suddenly felt very cold.

It was winter now, and it was late at night.

She wrapped her coat tightly around her but still felt the chill.

Adeline wanted to explain to Harrison just now, but what could she explain?

Should she tell him that she had liked him for a long time?

But if she said that, what would happen next?

She didn't know, and she didn't dare to gamble.

Checking the time, Adeline realized there should still be a subway running.

As she was about to head to the subway station, she suddenly saw Harrison's car coming back, stopping in front of her.

The window rolled down, revealing Harrison's stern face.

"Get in," he said.

"Mr. Thomson, I thought you had something to do?" Adeline asked in surprise.

"It's nothing now," Harrison replied irritably. "Just get in."

Since he said so, Adeline didn't dare to delay any further and got into the car.

The car's heater was on full blast, and she didn't feel cold anymore.

However, Harrison, sitting in the driver's seat, still looked very unhappy. He remained silent, refusing to speak to Adeline.

Adeline thought for a moment and said, "Mr.

Thomson, I just..."

"Shut up," Harrison interrupted her. "I don't want to talk to you right now."

He felt ashamed of himself.

He was still angry and didn't want to drive her home, just leaving her alone at the hospital.

But just after driving for a short distance, he

regretted it and turned the car around.

Now Harrison felt pain in his heart.

He heard everything Adeline said to Bianca and Oliver.

He wasn't intentionally eavesdropping. He was about to open the door to leave when he heard Adeline's words.

She said she respected him but didn't like him.

What respect did he need from her?

Adeline was silent for a moment and then said again, "Mr. Thomson, don't be angry."

Harrison didn't respond, his face clearly showing that he was too angry to talk.

After some thought, Adeline said, "How about I treat you to a roasted lamb?"

Harrison was speechless.

Finally, he reacted, his voice tinged with sarcasm as he said, "Are you teasing me?"

"No, I'm not," Adeline said innocently. "You mentioned last night that you wanted to eat a roasted lamb, so I thought, maybe if you had some, you'd feel better."

Harrison's lips involuntarily curled up.

He was truly defeated by her.

It wasn't necessary to eat a roasted lamb now.

Just her words had already lifted his mood considerably.

"After eating so much tonight, can you still eat a roasted lamb?" Harrison said. "Next time."

"Alright then."

"But remember, you owe me a roasted lamb."

"Got "it," Adeline agreed.

Even though it was just about a meal, Harrison suddenly felt much happier.

He thought that it didn't matter even if Adeline didn't like him now.

They still had plenty of time.

He would persevere.

The car stopped in front of Adeline's building.

Adeline bid farewell to Harrison, but as she was about to get out of the car, he suddenly grabbed her wrist.

When Adeline turned around, she was met with his intense gaze.
