One night stand with my president(chapter 127)

Chapter 127: What Broke

Sam was currently sitting in the private room of the clubhouse with Harrison.

He sighed deeply as he looked at Harrison's gloomy expression.

"Alas, don't be upset." He poured a glass of wine for Harrison and said, "Have some wine and calm down."

Just as Harrison took the glass, he suddenly remembered what Adeline had said to him before.

"Well then, let's make a deal. I'll drink less Cola, and you drink less wine, Okay?"

After a moment of thought, Harrison set the glass down.

"What's wrong?" Sam asked, puzzled.

"Don't like this wine?"

"No," Harrison said with a tense face. "I need to drink less wine."

"Huh?" Sam chuckled, amused. "Harrison, what's going on? Quitting alcohol? Why?"

Harrison didn't respond, and Sam suddenly had a realization. "Oh, I see. Could it be that Ms. Hensley asked you to drink less wine?"

Harrison wanted to deny it.

But the fact was just that. How could he deny it?

"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Harrison, you're done for," Sam said with a solemn tone. "It hasn't even started, and you're already listening to her. If you end up together, you'll be completely under Ms. Hensley's control, won't you?"

At his words, Harrison suddenly let out a bitter laugh.

"Together?" He said mockingly, "Most likely, it's just wishful thinking on my part."

"Look at you, getting upset over such a small matter. From what I see, they just happened to meet at the hospital. It was snowing heavily, so Russell, being a gentleman, offered to drive her home. Isn't that reasonable?"

When Harrison arrived, Sam had already heard from Harrison what had happened.

"And she agreed to that?" Harrison asked.

Sam shrugged and said, "With such heavy snow and inconvenient transportation home, it's only logical to accept a ride when there's a car available. Besides, they're both unmarried. Did Ms. Hensley do anything morally wrong?"

Sam's words only added to Harrison's agitation.

Unable to hold back, he asked, "Whose side are you on?"

"Of course, I'm on your side," Sam said with a grin. "It's because we're friends that I'm telling you the truth. I think Ms. Hensley probably doesn't have any feelings for Russell, so you can relax about that. But Russell is clearly interested in Ms. Hensley, just like you. Now, it's a race to see who makes the first move. Frankly, Russell's not inferior in any aspect. If Ms. Hensley ends up choosing him, I wouldn't be surprised at all."

Harrison wanted to sew his mouth shut.

"But you still have a chance now. Wait a moment I have to take a call" Sam said.

When he heard his phone ring, Sam took it out.

"What's up?" he asked.

"Sam, you gotta check the message I sent you!"

"What message? Is it worth interrupting me for a call? Alright, I'll check right away," Sam said.

Sam hung up the phone, and sure enough, there were several new messages.

He opened the conversation, and his eyes widened instantly.

Sam thought, "Wasn't that Russell and Adeline in the photo? Did I see it wrong?"

Moreover, judging by the background, it seemed to be at Shurford Residence.

Russell was with Adeline, building a snowman at Adeline's house.

Sam thought, "No way, did things progress so quickly between them?"

Just a moment ago, he had confidently stated that Adeline probably wasn't interested in Russell.

But now, seeing this photo, Sam wasn't so sure anymore.

"What's with that expression?" Harrison couldn't help but ask.

Sam wanted to say, "Something terrible."

He was conflicted. Should he show Harrison this photo?

If he did, Harrison would surely be angry.

But if he didn't, wouldn't it be like keeping this from him?

They were good friends, after all. How could Sam bear to keep Harrison in the dark?

Harrison looked at him, eyebrows slightly furrowed.

They had grown up together, and he knew Sam better than anyone.

The way Sam was acting now was odd.

"Who sent you something?" Harrison asked.

"Well.."

Harrison reached out his hand towards him.

"Let me see," he said.

Sam knew he couldn't refuse.

And this was something Harrison needed to know about.

So Sam handed over his phone.

When Harrison saw the photo, there was no expression on his face.

But Sam seemed to hear something break.

What broke?

Oh, it was Harrison's heart.

Adeline and Russell had finished building a chubby snowman together.

Russell even had someone buy a woolen hat to put on the snowman's head.

He looked at the snowman, feeling very happy, wishing he could have it transported to his home's freezer and keep it forever

But Adeline would definitely not agree to that, He had to dismiss that thought.

"Ms. Hensley, thank you," he said.

"Thank me for what?" Adeline asked, puzzled.

"Thank you for building this snowman with me."

He looked at her, his eyes full of tenderness.

Adeline smiled and said, "Well then, I should thank you too."

Russell felt like he hadn't been this happy in a long time.

This was his first time spending such a long time alone with Adeline.

He thought Adeline must be in a good mood, so he tentatively asked, "Ms. Hensley, do you want to take a photo with this snowman?"

"Sure," Adeline nodded.

She thought Russell meant to help her and the snowman take a photo together.

But she saw Russell going to the nearby children playing, handing his phone to the biggest one, asking him to take a photo of them with the snowman.

Seeing Russell already walking back, Adeline didn't have time to refuse.

Forget it, anyway, they had built this snowman together, and taking a photo with it wasn't a big deal.

The two of them stood on either side of the snowman.

The child with the phone took several photos of them, then ran back to Russell with the phone.

"Sir, how did the photos turn out?" he asked.

"They are great," Russell said.

Actually, kids didn't understand anything about photography techniques, but these photos, nevertheless, were pictures of him and Adeline together.

Moreover, both of them looked good, so no matter how the photos were taken, they would turn out great.

"Thank you," Russell said to the child. "What would you like to eat? I'll have someone bring it over for you."

"Really? Thank you, sir! We want hamburgers!"

"Okay, you guys go play. They will be here soon."

"Yay!"

The children continued to play, running and jumping around, while Russell made a call to have some hamburgers and fried chicken brought over.

After hanging up the phone, he asked Adeline, "Ms. Hensley, are you hungry?"
