One night stand with my president(Chapter 104)

Chapter 104: No Chance Between Us

Joyce nodded eagerly and said,"Of course, go ahead!"

She turned and left, winking at Adeline.

Being best friends for years, Adeline knew exactly what she meant.

Joyce was implying that this handsome guy seemed as good as Harrison.

Adeline felt helpless.

After Joyce left, Russell said, "Ms. Hensley, I know you don't have a boyfriend."

Adeline felt a chill run down her spine.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to invade your privacy. It's just that this concerns my lifelong happiness, and I need to be sure so I don't have any regrets," Russell said gently, looking into Adeline's eyes.

Adeline said awkwardly, "Mr.Hunter, it's true I don't have a boyfriend, but I'm not looking to start a relationship right now."

Russell mentioned "lifelong happiness," and she understood what he meant.

"I understand." Russell sighed softly. "Ms. Hensley, I do like you, but I never want my feelings to be a burden to you. I just hope you'll give me a chance to pursue you."

Adeline knew what he meant. She had the right not to like him, but she couldn't stop him from liking her.

However, she never gave false hope.

Since her school days, she had firmly rejected anyone who confessed to her because she knew it wasn't possible.

She didn't want to waste anyone's time.

"Mr. Hunter, thank you for liking me, but there's no chance between Us," Adeline said.

Hearing this, Russell felt sad.

He sighed lightly and gave a bitter smile, saying, "Ms. Hensley, I understand." Adeline felt a slight relief.

"Your friend is waiting for you, right?" Russell said. "It's late now. It's not safe for two ladies to be out. You should head home."

Just as Adeline was about to say goodbye to him, she suddenly felt a chill.

But before she could figure out what happened, she nodded and turned to leave.

Russell watched her back until she was out of sight.

Only after a while did he turn around.

Harrison was standing not far away, looking at Russell coldly.

Russell smiled at him.

Then he turned and left.

To Harrison, that smile was full of mockery.

Harrison felt a throbbing pain in his temples.

Adeline was with Russell again?

Harrison thought, 'So, when she said she had plans tonight, was it actually a date with Russell?'

Just the thought of it made Harrison feel insanely jealous.

"Harrison, why are you just standing here?" Eleanor had come up beside him at some point.

Her face had healed a lot, but since they were outside, she still wore a hat and mask.

"I'm fine," Harrison said coldly.

"You should go home."

Eleanor wanted to say something more, but then she noticed Amber standing quietly nearby and felt a surge of anger.

Eleanor thought angrily, 'Dealing with Ms. Hensley was one thing, but where did Amber come from?Harrison even brought her to such a private gathering. Have I been wrong all along? Is Amber, not Adeline, the real threat?'

Eleanor was confused and upset, but Harrison didn't seem to want to talk to her anymore. He turned to Amber and said, "I'll have someone take you home."

"Okay, Mr. Thomson," Amber replied obediently, not seeming to notice Eleanor's murderous glare.

Joyce was waiting for Adeline by the roadside.

Seeing Adeline approach, she quickly asked, "So, what did that handsome guy say to you? Did he confess? Don't lie to me, he

 definitely confessed!"

Adeline said, "How did you know?"

Joyce grinned and said, "Oh, I just knew."

"You tricked me, didn't you?" Adeline said.

"Well, it wasn't a trick. The way he looked at you was full of love! Anyone with eyes could see it," Joyce said. "Wait a minute, he looks kind of familiar. He must be some rich guy..."

"Alright. Let's go home," Adeline said, linking arms with her.

"No, come on, tell me..."

Joyce kept pestering Adeline with questions until her mother called her home, giving Adeline some peace.

Back at home, Adeline had just taken off her coat and was about to take a shower when she heard a knock at the door.

"Who is it?" Adeline asked.

There was no answer.

Adeline immediately became alert.

Despite the strong security in her building, there was always a chance something could happen.

She grabbed her phone in one hand and a fruit knife in the other, slowly walking to the door.

"Who is it?" she asked again.

Still no answer.

She looked through the peephole.

Although the person had his head down, she could tell immediately.

It was Harrison.

Adeline let out a long sigh of relief. She put the phone and knife down and opened the door.

"Mr. Thomson, what brings you here?" Adeline asked.

Besides, didn't Harrison know the door code?

Then she remembered that while he used the code when she was sick, he wouldn't just walk in unannounced otherwise.

Harrison didn't answer her question immediately. Instead, he walked into the apartment, his steps unsteady.

Adeline noticed he was staggering.

And then she smelled the overwhelming scent of alcohol.

"Mr. Thomson, have you been drinking?" Adeline was startled.

After closing the door, she instinctively reached out to support him.

But before she could touch him, Harrison suddenly grabbed her and pinned her against the wall.

"Mr. Thomson?" Adeline's eyes widened in shock as she stared at him.

He didn't say anything or make any further moves, just kept her pinned against the wall, his eyes intensely focused on her.

Being stared at like that, even Adeline, with her strong composure, couldn't help but blush and feel her heart race.

"Mr. Thomson, you're drunk. I'll make you some sobering soup," Adeline said.

Adeline tried to push Harrison away, but he remained as immovable as a rock.

Adeline said, "Please step aside,"

Harrison suddenly leaned in closer, startling Adeline.

"Mr. Thomson!"

They were now very close.

Adeline could feel his warm breath on her skin.

She was enveloped in the smell of his alcohol.

It was strong but not unpleasant.

In fact, Adeline felt like she might get drunk herself.

"Adeline..." Harrison finally spoke, calling her by her name, making her ears tingle.

But then he said, "You little heartless troublemaker..."
