One night stand with my president(chapter 84)

Chapter 84: Heartless

Harrison sighed in his heart.

Adeline placed a spoon in front of him again.

"Mr. Thomson, let's eat."

Harrison cooked vegetable oatmeal with just a little salt, and to Adeline's surprise, it tasted quite good.

Few people in the world would ever taste a meal cooked by Harrison.

Vegetable oatmeal with fried eggs was quite simple for Harrison, but he didn't seem to mind it. He finished his own oatmeal and ate quite a few eggs.

After they both finished eating, Harrison asked, "Feeling better now?"

Seeing Adeline's complexion before dinner, he knew she should be fine now.

Nevertheless, it was safer to ask.

"Yes, much better," Adeline said, " I'll be able to go to work tomorrow."

Harrison was a bit speechless.

He didn't ask because he was worried she couldn't go to work tomorrow.

Why couldn't she recognize kindness?

But when Harrison looked at Adeline's innocent eyes, his heart softened.

Oh well, it was his fault that he was too harsh on her before.

Thinking about what happened today,

Harrison said, "I owe you one for today."

Adeline knew he was referring to Eleanor's matter.

"It's nothing," Adeline said softly. "The matter has been cleared up."

In fact, she wanted to know if Harrison would believe her if she hadn't found evidence today.

Perhaps because Harrison was very approachable today, Adeline blurted out the question.

Just after asking, she saw Harrison frown slightly.

Adeline's heart sank.

"Ms. Hensley, don't you think it's ridiculous to ask such a question?" Harrison said.

Adeline's head drooped inch by inch.

She said, "I understand."

Then, Harrison said, "You are with the Thomson Group. Eleanor is about to cooperate with the Thomson Group. What benefit would ruining her face bring to you?

Unless you're a fool, it's impossible for you to do such a thing."

Adeline looked up at Harrison.

Did this mean he believed her?

"Of course, if you were to take money from the opposing company, that might be a different story,"

Harrison joked.

Adeline could tell he was joking, so she smiled and said, "I'm not someone who would take money to betray the company."

But suddenly, Harrison remembered that Adeline had taken money from Myra...

Didn't she think that taking money from his mother was a betrayal to him?

However, this reflected something indirectly.

She hadn't thought about being with him.

But Harrison was still unwilling to accept this.

Maybe she was in desperate need of money.

After all, she had such a gambling father.

Harrison asked, "But you have..."

He didn't finish his words.

"What?" Adeline looked at him in confusion.

"Nothing."

Harrison originally wanted to ask her, but he was afraid of hurting her feelings and embarrassing her.

Forget it. Anyway, it was all in the past now.

Pausing for a moment, Harrison said again, "If there's any trouble with Eleanor in the future, don't bother with her."

Adeline's fingers tightened and then relaxed, and she whispered, "Okay, I understand."

Eleanor was indeed Harrison's sweetheart.

Harrison was worried she might start something with Eleanor again, so he was giving Adeline a warning in advance.

It seemed he could see through today's events.

But he cared about Eleanor, so naturally he wouldn't do anything to her.

Adeline didn't want to hear any more about Eleanor from Harrison, so she got up to tidy up the dishes.

"Let me do it." Harrison rolled up his sleeves. "You just recovered from illness and should rest more."

"No, let me do it," Adeline said hurriedly.

But as soon as she said that, she saw Harrison gazing at her gently. She had no choice but to put down the dishes and say, "Okay, you will take care of it."

There was a dishwasher in the kitchen.

Harrison put the dishes in it and then walked out of the kitchen, only to see Adeline sitting on the sofa in a daze.

He looked at her, his Adam's apple rolling slightly.

It was late now.

The two of them were alone together in the house.

He was a normal man after all.

It was impossible not to have some thoughts.

But he would never force her.

"I'm leaving. Get some rest."

Harrison picked up the coat beside the sofa.

Adeline came to her senses and quickly got up, saying, "Alright. I'll see you off downstairs."

"You don't need to." Harrison frowned. "It's very cold outside. If you go out now, you might catch a cold again."

Adeline wanted to say something, but Harrison continued, "Remember to take the medicine."

"Yeah."

Harrison looked at her deeply again before leaving.

Adeline still insisted on seeing him off at the elevator.

While waiting for the elevator, Adeline said, "Mr. Thomson, thank you for buying me medicine and cooking oatmeal for me today."

Harrison glanced at her and joked, "So, are you planning to bring me cookies tomorrow?"

Adeline's face blushed a little.

She did think about it.

"What else would you like to eat?

I can make it for you," Adeline asked.

As soon as she finished speaking, the elevator arrived.

The elevator door opened, and Harrison stepped in. Before the door closed, he said, "Nothing else. Cookies are just fine."

Standing downstairs, Harrison braved the cold wind and glanced at the windows of Adeline's house.

The lights were still on. It seemed she hadn't slept yet.

Harrison thought, "This heartless woman. It's so late, and she let me leave like this."

There was a guest room in her house.

But according to Adeline's personality, she would never ask him to stay.

She always kept her distance from him.

Even though he had cooked oatmeal for her at her house and they had eaten together face to face, there was still a long distance between them.

Harrison smiled helplessly and turned to his car.

He didn't call the driver but sat in the driver's seat alone.

However, he didn't immediately drive away. Instead, he sat there for a while, then picked up his phone and called Sam.

Sam hadn't slept yet, probably playing games because Harrison could hear game sounds in the background.

"Hey, Harrison, you're still up?" Sam asked.

"Yeah," Harrison replied. "I just left Ms. Hensley's place."

Sam suddenly perked up. "Ms. Hensley? You're leaving her place at this hour? Why? What did you guys do?"

"Don't think wild," Harrison said expressionlessly. "She was sick today, and I took care of her for a bit."

"Wow! This is a great chance to bond!" Sam exclaimed excitedly.

"How did you take care of her? What did she say? Was she moved?"

Moved? Harrison pondered for a moment.

She was more surprised and nervous than moved.
