One night stand with my president(chapter 97)

Chapter 97: Crescent-Shaped Birthmark

Harrison nodded slightly, agreeing to take her along.

He went back inside to grab a coat and brought down a thick one.

"The temperature will keep dropping tonight.

Your coat isn't thick enough. You should change into this one," Harrison said.

Adeline looked at the coat in his hand.

It was his, large and thick, sure to keep her warm.

Considering she had just recovered from an illness, Adeline didn't refuse and simply thanked him before taking it.

Both of them were burdened with thoughts as they left together.

As Harrison's illness wasn't completely cured yet and calling the driver would waste too much time, Adeline took the wheel.

On the way, Harrison remarked, "You drive quite steadily."

Adeline forced a smile, saying,"Of course, I'm confident in my driving skills."

Although she didn't drive often, she didn't feel rusty when she did.

"I don't recall seeing you drive when you lived far away," Harrison said.

"You know about my family situation. With a father like mine, how would I have extra money to buy a car?" Adeline replied.

After saying this, Adeline felt like she was playing the sympathy card with Harrison, so she quickly added, "But during rush hour, traffic jams are common. Taking the subway is convenient. Now that I live close to the company, I don’t have to drive”

"Hmm."

After a brief silence, Harrison suddenly said, "Ms. Hensley."

"Yes?"

"I was drugged that night."

Adeline was puzzled. She knew about this, and she had found out that Kaylie was behind it.

Why was Harrison repeating it to her?

"I know, Mr. Thomson."

"If I had been sober, nothing would have happened to that woman," Harrison continued.

He wanted Adeline to know that he wasn't that kind of person.

Adeline's heart suddenly ached.

Yes, if he had been sober, nothing would have happened between them.

It was just that she carried a torch for Harrison.

After a while, she softly said, "I know."

She said this, but Harrison still felt uneasy.

Both of them fell silent until the car stopped at the hotel entrance.

Rowen was already waiting there.

Seeing Harrison and Adeline getting out of the car together surprised him.

And he was more surprised when he saw Adeline wearing Harrison's clothes.

Rowen had seen Harrison wearing that coat before, so he knew it was Harrison's.

Rowen thought, "Mr. Thomson actually let others take his coat?"

However, Rowen quickly regained his composure from the surprise.

He approached Harrison and said, "Mr. Thomson, the woman is waiting in the room."

Harrison simply grunted in response and walked towards the hotel.

Rowen followed him to report.

"This woman's name is Amber Lawson, a waitress at the hotel. She's only twenty-one years old and was originally in college, but for some reason, she dropped out and started working as a waitress at the Crown Hotel," Rowen said. "She claims that on that night, she heard unusual noises outside your room and knocked to check if everything was fine. When you opened the door, you pulled her in, and then..."

Even Rowen, who had seen much, didn't know how to continue at this point.

If it were anyone else, he could have calmly recounted the incident.

But this was Harrison.

After pausing for a moment, Rowen continued, "After the incident, she was too scared. And she left without waking you up in the morning. But later, she saw your photo online and recognized you. At first, she was afraid to come forward, hoping to bury the incident. However, when I was investigating this matter recently, every time I asked the hotel staff, Amber always avoided me.

Sensing something was wrong, I questioned her, and she probably felt she couldn't hide it any longer, so she confessed."

"Does she have any evidence?" Harrison asked flatly.

The hotel's surveillance from that night was damaged.

Amber would need evidence to prove she entered his room that night.

However, based on his understanding of Rowen, if there was no evidence to confirm Amber's claims, Rowen wouldn't have contacted him.

"I've been cautious during the investigation and didn't mention that night's events. But she was able to recall them. There's one more thing..."

Rowen lowered his voice. "She mentioned a crescent-shaped red birthmark on the inner side of your thigh."

Harrison's fingers tightened suddenly.

He did have that birthmark, which he had since birth.

But few people knew about it.

Since Amber did, it meant she was very likely the woman who entered his room that night.

Because of the intimate encounter, she could see the birthmark on his thigh.

Harrison had mixed feelings.

On one hand, he knew the woman from that night had saved his life.

He had the medication investigated.

If not for her antidote, he would have died from drugs.

But...

He glanced at Adeline, who had been silently following behind them.

Rowen naturally noticed his gaze.

After some thought, Rowen suggested, "Mr. Thomson, it seems Amber comes from a poor background and is in need of money. If you were to offer her a substantial amount, perhaps this matter could be settled."

Harrison had already considered the suggestion.

Even if Amber wasn't in financial need, resolving her would be easy if he wished.

But his upbringing forbade such actions.

Perhaps he could be cold at times, but he wouldn't shirk his responsibilities.

"Let's see what she has to say first." Harrison said.

Adeline had been trailing behind the two of them all along, so she caught the gist of their conversation.

She was too confused.

Where had Amber come from?

Why was she impersonating the woman from that night?

If it were just for money, that would be one thing.

But what if she had other motives?

Adeline's temples throbbed.

Soon, they arrived at the door of Amber's room.

Rowen pushed open the door.

Adeline followed Harrison into the room and saw a young lady sitting on the edge of the bed, looking timid.

This lady was very beautiful, with a pair of big eyes full of vulnerability and fear, making people want to pity her.

There were also two female bodyguards in the room. They were Rowen's subordinates accompanying Amber.

Rowen gestured to them, and the two female bodyguards left the room.

Amber looked at Harrison, her face flushing with embarrassment.
