Chapter 105: Harrison Plays Coquettish
Adeline was speechless and thought,
'Is he cursing at me or acting spoiled?'
Compared to the idea of Harrison acting spoiled, she was more inclined to believe he was cursing.
Not wanting to argue with a drunk man, she played along and said,"Alright, I'm heartless. Now, can you let go of me?"
"No," Harrison said. "First, tell me why you're heartless."
Adeline felt a surge of frustration and couldn't help but look at Harrison as if he were an idiot.
"You call me heartless and then ask why?"
As soon as she said it, she regretted it. Why was she arguing with a drunk man?
But Harrison didn't get mad.
Instead, he started thinking seriously about her question.
After a while, he said in a daze,". Oh right, I was the one who called you heartless."
Adeline couldn't help but burst into laughter.
She should have recorded this with her phone and shown him when he sobered up to see what he was like when drunk.
The last time he got drunk, he spent most of the time asleep.
Now, he was both drunk and awake and was exhausted.
"You're laughing at me?" Harrison frowned, trying to look intimidating.
Normally, Adeline might be nervous, but not now. She even felt like pinching his cheek.
Before she could reach out, Harrison called her again, "Adeline..."
Adeline couldn't stand him saying her name in this state.
She was about to push him away when she saw his hand moving closer to her chest.
She immediately slapped his hand away.
"What are you doing?"
Harrison looked a bit aggrieved and asked, "Why did you hit me?"
"Because you're being a pervert!" Adeline glared at him. "Even if you're drunk, you can't take advantage of others. Do you understand?"
Harrison protested and said, "I'm not being a pervert!"
"Then what were you just doing?" Adeline asked, blushing.
"I just wanted to feel if you still have a heart! Why could you be so heartless?" Harrison said righteously.
Adeline was stunned by his words.
But Harrison's expression was sincere, without any hint of lying or ulterior motives.
He genuinely wanted to feel for her heart, not anything else.
Adeline felt completely defeated by him.
She had just resolved not to argue with a drunk, yet here she was seriously talking to him.
She realized she was being quite childish too.
Seeing Harrison's dazed expression,
Adeline felt this was her chance. She said in a coaxing tone, "That's not the most important now. You've had too much to drink and need to rest. How about you sitting on the couch? I'll make you some soup."
"My head hurts," Harrison said, frowning.
"Drinking some soup will help,” Adeline continued coaxing.
Harrison was quite easy to get along with in his current state.
He obediently let go of Adeline, turned around, and walked to the couch to sit down.
Adeline breathed a sigh of relief.
She carefully removed anything from around the couch that he might hurt himself with, then went into the kitchen to make the
soup.
While cooking, she kept checking on Harrison from the kitchen.
Seeing Harrison still sitting on the couch reassured her.
But what happened to him tonight?
He suddenly got so drunk and then came to her place to act up.
Wasn't he having dinner with Amber tonight?
Adeline couldn't figure out what had happened.
When the soup was ready, she turned around with a bowl and noticed the couch was empty.
Startled, she called out, "Harrison!"
At this moment, she didn't even bother to call him "Mr. Thomson."
Now that Harrison was drunk, if he wandered off, she was afraid Harrison would be in danger.
Adeline quickly put down the soup and ran out.
But as she reached the door, she saw out of the corner of her eye that her bedroom door was open.
She suddenly realized something.
Adeline turned and walked to her bedroom.
The lights were off in the bedroom.
But as she reached the door, Adeline could see by the light from the living room that Harrison was lying on her bed.
Adeline let out a sigh of relief.
She had intended to be angry but found she couldn't be.
What good was it to be angry with a drunk?
She walked to the bed, bent slightly, and said softly, "Mr. Thomson? Mr. Thomson?”
Harrison's arm seemed to move, but he didn't get up.
Seeing he wasn't completely asleep, Adeline said, "Mr. Thomson, the soup is ready. Have some, and your head won't hurt in the morning."
But Harrison didn't respond. It was unclear if he understood her.
"Mr. Thomson?" Adeline called out to him.
After calling him a few more times without a response, Adeline guessed he might be too drunk to wake up. She decided not to force him to drink the soup and reached out to remove his jacket.
Just as she touched him, Harrison suddenly grabbed her wrist.
"What are you doing?" he asked in a low voice.
Adeline was taken aback. Harrison didn't seem drunk at all. But the smell of alcohol was still strong.
"Mr. Thomson, I thought you were asleep and wanted to help you take off your jacket," Adeline explained.
"No," Harrison said.
"What?"
"You must want to take advantage of me," Harrison said faintly.
Adeline was speechless. He was still drunk!
Adeline resisted the urge to hit him and tried to pull her arm from his grip.
But Harrison suddenly pulled hard.
Adeline found herself spinning and then pinned beneath Harrison.
Their position was extremely intimate.
"Mr. Thomson, get up!"
Adeline's voice was trembling with nervousness.
This situation reminded her of that night in the hotel.
If it happened again, she wouldn't be able to handle that...
Instead of getting up, Harrison buried his head in her neck.
Although he made no further moves, his hot breath made Adeline shiver.
"Why should I get up?" Harrison asked in a hoarse voice. "Do you dislike being close to me?"
Adeline said, "Mr. Thomson, you're drunk. Please get up..."
"You don't want me near you, but you can laugh and chat with Russell. I just don't get it. How am I worse than him?" Harrison asked.
