One night stand with my president(Chapter 96)

Chapter 96: I Didn't Take Her Money

Harrison's words left Adeline dumbfounded.

She immediately asked, "What the... When did I take Mrs. Thomson's money?"

She almost blurted out dirty words because she was so shocked.

At her words, a hint of strangeness flickered in Harrison's eyes.

He eagerly asked, "You didn't take it?"

"Of course not!" Adeline said. Calming herself, she added, "Previously, when Mrs. Thomson invited me out to meet, she gave me a bank card, but I didn't accept it."

She didn't want to stir up trouble between them, but she also couldn't bear to take the blame for something she didn't do!

Everything she said was true.

"You.." After Harrison's surprise subsided, he felt a surge of joy welling up inside.

So she hadn't taken Myra's money after all.

"Mr. Thomson, if you don't believe me, I can go talk to Mrs. Thomson in person," Adeline said.

She wanted to confront Myra face to face.

But she felt that would be too aggressive.

Having said that, Harrison understood.

Thinking that Myra had never liked Adeline, Harrison inwardly sighed.

He never expected that Myra, a noblewoman, would stoop so low for her own selfish desires.

And she was his mother.

Seeing him silent, Adeline grew anxious.

She seemed to have realized something and took a step forward, asking, "So, when you took me to the club that time, were you angry because you thought I had taken Mrs. Thomson's money?"

So, was that why he said those harsh things to her?

Adeline had mixed feelings.

Harrison thought she had taken Myra's money, which made her feel somewhat sad.

But upon reflection, he had trusted her in many other instances.

Yet this accusation came from his mother.

And at that time, she happened to be in need of money, so...

Sometimes, she didn't trust him either.

She felt he wouldn't care about what happened to her and certainly wouldn't lend a hand. In his eyes, she was just a useful

secretary.

But the truth seemed to be different.

He had stepped up when she was in danger and had taken care of her when she was sick.

Hearing Adeline's question, Harrison looked a bit awkward and nodded slightly after a while.

Adeline took a deep breath and looked at Harrison earnestly. "Mr. Thomson, I think there may have been too many misunderstandings between us. So, I hope that no matter what happens, we can

 communicate promptly, Okay?"

Harrison looked up at her.

At that moment, he suddenly felt like he was about to be lost in her eyes.

To conceal his own turmoil, Harrison said, "Are you trying to coax a child?"

Adeline smiled helplessly. "Mr. Thomson, I'm serious."

Of course, Harrison knew she was serious.

He just couldn't bear it. He was afraid he might hug her tightly.

But that would scare her.

Harrison coughed and said, "Okay, from now on, if anything happens, "I check with you first."

Then he added, "But you can't deceive me."

Adeline trembled.

Suddenly, she felt uncomfortable.

She almost forgot that she had deceived him, and it was a big lie.

She still hadn't told him that the woman from that night was her.

Just as she had said, they should communicate promptly, no matter what happened.

Now, if she continued to conceal this, wouldn't she be embarrassing herself?

Adeline started to hesitate.

Harrison didn't seem as cold-hearted as she had thought.

Perhaps telling him about that night wouldn't have any consequences.

After all, it was just a ridiculous accident.

Scenes from that night flashed through Adeline's mind.

Her face flushed slightly.

Harrison didn't wait for Adeline's response but noticed her blushing.

He asked in confusion, "What's wrong?"

Adeline replied dryly, "Nothing."

Taking a deep breath, she said, "Mr. Thomson, there's something l want to tell you."

"Go ahead."

At that moment, many thoughts flashed through Adeline's mind.

If she told Harrison, would he be furious and just kick her out of the company?

Then how would she repay Joyce's money?

That was Joyce's down payment.

But looking into Harrison's eyes, Adeline suddenly felt that maybe she could take a chance.

"Mr. Thomson, that night..."

Before Adeline could finish her sentence, Harrison's phone rang.

The abrupt ringtone interrupted

Adeline's words.

Harrison picked up the phone and saw it was Rowen calling.

"Just a moment," he said.

Adeline had no choice but to swallow the words she was about to say.

But just moments ago, she had been driven by impulse and courage to speak the truth.

Now, being interrupted like this diluted her impulsiveness and courage.

Adeline came to her senses and realized she was sweating profusely.

After answering the phone, Harrison asked, "What's the matter?"

"Are you serious?" His expression looked complicated.

"Understood, I'll be right there," Harrison said.

After hanging up, Adeline saw that his complexion didn't seem good and asked, "Mr. Thomson, what's wrong?"

Harrison moved his lips but didn't say anything.

"It's nothing. You should go home first," Harrison said.

But seeing his condition, Adeline was still worried.

"Mr. Thomson, are you going out? It's very cold outside, and you have not recovered yet. Can you handle it? Why does it have to be now?" Adeline asked.

Probably not wanting to hide it anymore, Harrison said, "They found the woman from that night."

At his words, Adeline's mind went blank.

They found her?

But the woman from that night was her.

So who was this woman suddenly appearing now?

Adeline forced herself to stay calm and asked, "Who is she?"

"Rowen didn't say much on the phone, just that she's currently arranged at a hotel under the Thomson Group. I'm going to check it out," Harrison said.

Saying this, Harrison felt uneasy.

Talking about this in front of the woman he liked made him feel uncomfortable.

But regardless, he couldn't ignore what happened that night.

Adeline's mind was still somewhat blank. She asked, "Can I come with you?"

Clearly, the woman from that night was Adeline.

So who was this woman?

Adeline wasn't jealous. She was just worried that this woman might have ulterior motives and could pose a threat to Harrison or the Thomson Group.
