One night stand with my president(chapter 107)

Chapter 107: Counting Sheep

After a while, Harrison replied to her message: [| can't sleep.]

Adeline wondered why it took him so long to type just three words.

Was he so drunk that he couldn't even type properly?

He should just go to sleep already.

Adeline, frustrated, left the guest room and walked towards the bedroom.

But as she reached the bedroom door, she hesitated.

What if what happened last time happened again?

She couldn't guarantee she'd have the self-control.

Besides, Harrison might already be undressed.

So, Adeline went back to the guest room and sent him a message: [If you can't sleep, close your eyes and count sheep.]

After a long while, Harrison replied: [But

makes me want to eat roast lamb.]

Adeline found herself getting hungry too.

Adeline coaxed: [Sleep well, and you can have roast lamb tomorrow.]

Harrison: [Really?)

Adeline: [Yes.)

After Adeline sent the message, Harrison didn't reply again.

Fearing he might go crazy again, Adeline waited nearly an hour, but he didn't send another message.

He must have fallen asleep.

Adeline finally relaxed.

After all the commotion that night, she was a bit tired.

But lying on the bed, she couldn't sleep.

Every time she closed her eyes, she pictured Harrison from tonight.

She vaguely sensed something but couldn't believe it.

Or rather, she wasn't sure if what he said and did tonight was just because of the alcohol.

She had been by his side for five years.

In those five years, she had seen firsthand how ruthless Harrison could be towards subordinates who had ulterior motives.

How could someone like that have any feelings for his secretary?

Adeline could believe Harrison saw her as a friend.

She wondered if Harrison would remember tonight's events tomorrow morning.

If he did, that would be too awkward.

Adeline prayed he would forget everything that happened tonight after he sobered up.

Slowly, she fell asleep too.

Harrison woke up at dawn.

He had a headache and his stomach felt queasy.

Struggling out of bed, he went to the bathroom and leaned over the sink, but the urge to vomit passed, so he washed his face with cold water.

As he reached for a towel, he noticed something odd.

The towel was pink.

And this bathroom wasn't his.

The counter was filled with various skincare products. It was clearly a woman's bathroom.

Harrison suddenly realized something.

He grabbed a few tissues to dry his face and walked out of the bathroom.

He hadn't been in Adeline's bedroom before.

But somehow, he knew immediately that this was her bedroom.

Harrison thought, "Did I sleep here last night? How did I end up in Adeline's house? Where is Adeline now?"

Harrison's headache worsened as he tried to remember last night. He recalled seeing Adeline with Russell and feeling very upset,

so he went to a bar to drink.

The alcohol content of the drink was very high, and he drank it quickly. He remembered calling his driver to pick him up.

But he couldn't remember what happened next at all.

Why didn't the driver take him home but brought him to Adeline's place?

Harrison struggled to recall but only fell dizzier. He lay back down on the bed and noticed the surrounding scent was all Adeline's.

This made his thoughts run wild.

When he came to Adeline's house last night, she must have been there.

Otherwise, he wouldn't be lying comfortably in her bed, and there was a half bowl of sobering soup next to him.

Harrison thought, "Did Adeline take care of me last night? I hope I didn't do anything inappropriate."

Thinking this, Harrison felt a bit panicked.

He picked up his phone and saw he had called her several times last night, but she didn't answer.

Then they exchanged messages.

The more he read, the more alarmed he became.

Roast lamb...

Harrison thought, "Why had I talked to Adeline about roast lamb? What nonsense was that?]

From the messages, Harrison realized he must have done something outrageous last night.

The thought of embarrassing himself in front of Adeline made him feel pain all over.

He wanted to go find Adeline and explain himself.

But seeing the time, he knew she was probably still asleep.

Since he had taken her bedroom, she must be sleeping in the guest room.

He had caused her enough trouble last night, so he decided not to disturb her sleep.

Harrison saw a message from Eleanor asking about Amber. He skimmed it and set his phone down.

His head still ached, and he quickly fell asleep again.

When he woke up, it was broad daylight.

After another sleep, he felt much better.

He turned and saw a complete set of new men's clothes beside the bed.

They hadn't been there when he woke up earlier.

It seemed Adeline had prepared them for him after she woke up.

Harrison felt warm and very happy.

He checked the time, and it was already past ten in the morning.

There was a new message from Adeline: [Mr. Thomson, I've gone to the office. I left clothes for you by the bed and new toiletries in the bathroom. I also baked some cookies. They're on the table.]

She had even baked cookies.

Harrison felt a burst of joy.

He got out of bed and went to the bathroom. There he found a full set of new toiletries, even new towels.

After a shower, Harrison came out of the bathroom and changed into the clothes Adeline had prepared.

Everything fit perfectly.

She knew him well.

Harrison's joy was almost overflowing. He wanted to call Sam and brag but reconsidered, remembering the foolish things he might have done last night.

Instead, he decided to go to the office and ask Adeline what happened.

He went to the living room and found a plate of cookies on the dining table, along with a thermos of Adeline's homemade fruit tea.

Sitting at the table, Harrison suddenly wondered what it would be like if he and Adeline got married.

The thought made him laugh out loud.

"Ms. Hensley, here are the documents I just finished," Amber said as she handed the freshly printed documents to Adeline.

Adeline took them and said, "Thank you."

But Amber didn't leave immediately.

Instead, she looked worried and asked, "Why hasn't Mr. Thomson come to the office yet? Is something wrong?"
