Chapter 103: The Photo

"Hey, guys. I'm Amber, an employee from the President's Office at the Thomson Group," Amber said with a smile.

Seeing all the people dressed in designer brands, Amber felt both nervous and excited.

Finally, she had made it into this circle.

The group snapped out of their shock and greeted her one after another.

Although they didn't know what was poing on since Harrison brought her with him, no one dared to neglect her.

Someone whispered to Sam, "What's wrong?"

Sam made a zip-your-lips gesture.

He dared not say anything about that matter.

But he didn't know why Harrison would bring Amber with him.

Sam thought, 'Could it be that Harrison felt he had to take responsibility for Amber? What about Ms. Hensley, then?'

Sam couldn't help but worry for him.

The group had already ordered their food, and they handed the menu to Harrison and Amber to let them order a few more dishes.

Amber only ordered two dishes, both of which Harrison liked.

"Looks like Ms. Lawson knows Harrison well," one man joked.

Amber looked surprised. "Mr. Thomson likes these dishes too? Seems like we have similar tastes."

Hearing this, many people glanced at Harrison.

Harrison's expression remained indifferent, showing neither joy nor anger.

"Harrison, what would you like to drink?" Sam asked.

"Anything," Harrison said.

Sam ordered a few bottles of wine, and at that moment, Amber picked up the teapot and poured tea into Harrison's cup.

"Mr. Thomson, drink less alcohol.

It's bad for your health," Amber said softly. "It's cold now, better to drink something warm."

Harrison smiled slightly and said, "Thank you."

Amber blushed again.

However, even after the tea had cooled, Harrison didn't drink it.

Halfway through the meal, a man suddenly said awkwardly, "Harrison, I posted on Instagram that you were treating us, and Eleanor saw it. She just messaged me asking where we are. What should I tell her?"

Everyone knew about Eleanor's feelings for Harrison.

But today, Harrison had brought Amber.

This was awkward.

Harrison said calmly, "Just tell the truth."

"Oh... Okay."

Sam whispered in Harrison's ear,"Are you crazy? I knew you didn't like Eleanor, so I didn't inform her. Besides, you brought Amber here today. If Eleanor shows up, I' m afraid she will make a scene. Have you forgotten that Kaylie slapped Eleanor last time?"

"No," Harrison said. "I just want to confirm something."

"What's it?" Sam asked, confused.

Harrison didn't answer. He just picked up his wine glass and took a sip.

Joyce hadn't lied to Adeline. The new restaurant was indeed offering great discounts, allowing them to enjoy a feast for a low price.

"How is it? Tasty, right?" Joyce said proudly. "Stick with me, and you won't go wrong!"

Adeline initially didn't have much appetite, but being with her close friend, she felt a bit better.

She ate a piece of sushi and said, "I saw the banner at the entrance. The promotion lasts for two months. Why is this place offering such big discounts?"

"Oh, you don't know. The second floor caters to super-rich clients with a different menu from ours," Joyce pointed upstairs.

"They make a lot of money from those clients, so they don't mind offering big discounts to attract more people and build their reputation."

Adeline nodded in understanding.

She followed Joyce's gaze and suddenly saw a tall figure by the second-floor railing.

It was Russell.

Adeline quickly looked away.

No matter where she was, Adeline didn't want any private interaction with Russell. So this time, she pretended not to see him.

"By the way, how are things with Mr. Thomson lately?" Joyce asked." Is Kaylie giving you any trouble?"

"No, she's been pretty quiet lately," Adeline said.

Joyce said, "That's good. You know what? At the auction, I saw her glaring at you fiercely. It scared me. l always felt she had bad intentions toward you."

While Joyce was speaking, Adeline received a text message from Millie.

She glanced at it casually and said with a smile, "With Kaylie's personality, she won't let things go easily."

"Actually, I took a photo last time. I had it developed and debated for days before deciding to give it to you."

Joyce took an envelope out of her bag and handed it to Adeline.

"What's in the envelope? A beautiful photo of me?" Adeline asked with a smile.

But when she opened the envelope and took out the photo, her eyes widened in shock.

It was a photo of her and Harrison.

It wasn't exactly a photo together, but just a shot of them sitting next to each other, taken by Joyce.

Staring at the photo, Adeline was lost in thought.

So, this was how they looked sitting together.

"Adeline, do you like it?" Joyce asked cautiously. "I wasn't sure if printing this photo was the right thing to do, but I thought it was beautiful, and you two look..."

They looked like a perfect match.

But she didn't dare say that now.

Everyone knew Harrison had someone else now.

She wasn't sure if saying that would upset Adeline or cause her trouble.

Adeline smiled and put the photo away. 

"There's nothing wrong with taking a photo. It's a good one."

But this photo must never be made public.

It was enough that only she and Joyce had seen it.

Seeing Adeline's calm reaction, Joyce sighed in relief.

She had thought long and hard before meeting Adeline today.

In the end, she decided to give the photo to Adeline.

Anyway, it could still serve as a memento.

After finishing their meal, they were discussing whether to catch a movie when they suddenly heard a gentle male voice behind them.

"Ms. Hensley." Adeline's back stiffened.

Joyce turned around first and her eyes lit up. 

She tugged at Adeline' s sleeve and whispered, "Handsome guy. He's hot."

Adeline gave her a look of exasperation, then turned around and smiled politely at the man.

"Mr. Hunter."

Russell walked up to her. Perhaps it was the streetlight, and his features seemed especially gentle.

"May I speak with her alone?"Russell asked Joyce.
