One night stand with my president(chapter 67)

Chapter 67: Eleanor Is Left Alone

"Harrison, what are you thinking?" Eleanor tugged at his sleeve. "Hurry up and apply the ointment. My face hurts."

Harrison's fingers tightened.

Then he gently pushed Eleanor away, saying, "Have someone else help you."

With that, he strode away.

But when he reached outside the clubhouse, he saw that Adeline had already boarded a taxi and left.

Russell stood silently beside his car.

It seemed he wanted to send Adeline back but was rejected.

When he saw Harrison come out, Russell's eyes held significant meaning. Then he got into his car and drove away.

After Harrison left, Eleanor sat alone on the sofa, looking lost.

Sam wandered over with a smile, asking, "Eleanor, what's wrong?"

"Sam, I feel like Harrison has changed," Eleanor sighed. "In the past, he would never leave me like this."

Sam pondered for a moment then said, "But I feel like Harrison hasn't changed much."

Wasn't Harrison like this five years ago?

Forget it. If Eleanor said Harrison had changed, then he had changed. Sam didn't want to argue with a woman.

Sam scratched his head and said, "After all, it's been five years. No matter what happened between you and Harrison five years ago, the past is the past. We should move on. Besides, Eleanor, now that you've become a big star and achieved your dreams, what else is there to be dissatisfied with?"

Eleanor frowned slightly, looking at Sam.

He was smiling at her, but his eyes held a deeper meaning.

She suddenly had a terrible thought.

Since Adeline came, Sam had been trying to make Adeline stay. Was it because he wanted Eleanor to see how much Harrison cared about Adeline and make her give up on Harrison?

Now, Eleanor had indeed seen it clearly.

But she wouldn't give up.

Eleanor's fingers tightened as she said, "I know it's hard for me to make up for my absence for the past five years. But now that I'm back with Harrison, as long as I'm by his side, he'll know that l' m the one who cares most about him and the one who should be by his side."

"Why bother?" Sam said helplessly.

"You should know Harrison's temperament. If you're like Kaylie, I'm afraid you won't even be friends."

Eleanor smiled, "I won't be like that crazy woman."

After leaving the clubhouse, Kaylie immediately called Millie once she got in the car.

"When will you finish what I asked you to do?" Kaylie asked coldly.

Millie was somewhat speechless.

"Ms. Hickman, didn't I tell you Adeline won't easily trust me? If I'm too eager, she'll become suspicious."

Kaylie knew, but she was impatient.

She no longer cared if Harrison wanted to be with her or not.

She just wanted to deal with Adeline to make up for all the suffering she had endured.

Although Harrison had just warned her, Kaylie could let Millie be the scapegoat.

"I'll give you another half month," Kaylie said impatiently.

"Understood, Ms. Hickman" Millie replied. "Rest assured, I'm even more eager than you for Adeline's demise."

Kaylie hung up and then contacted Carla.

"You should have gotten the things I asked you to get, right?"

Carla replied, "Don't worry. Don't you know my sources? But who are you planning to use this against? You failed last time. You should be careful this time."

"I know," Kaylie said. "This time, make sure you're more careful. Don't let anyone trace back that you imported them from abroad."

"Rest assured. They won't find a thing."

"Good," Kaylie said.

After hanging up, Millie looked out the window at the scenery flying by with hate in her eyes.

Kaylie thought, "Harrison, don't you care about Adeline? Since that is the case, I will destroy her!"

After returning to the company, Adeline finished up her work and left.

After packing up, she looked up and saw Harrison standing beside the elevator.

He lazily leaned against it, half in shadow, half in light.

Adeline didn't know when he had returned.

She thought, "Didn't he stay with Eleanor?"

After a moment's thought, she stood up and walked over to Harrison.

"Mr. Thomson." Harrison looked up at her.

"Getting off work?"

"Yes."

Then Adeline asked, "Is there anything else?"

"Come with me to a place," Harrison said.

Adeline's first reaction was that he wanted to take her back to the clubhouse again.

She instinctively took a step back, watching him cautiously.

"I won't eat you," Harrison said in a low voice.

But he could trouble her.

"Mr. Thomson, if it's not work-related, l'd rather not go," Adeline said. "I have something to attend to today."

Harrison chuckled at her reaction.

"You're getting bolder," Harrison sneered. "Who gave you this courage, Russell?"

Adeline immediately said, "I have nothing to do with Mr. Hunter."

"Nothing to do? He especially went to the clubhouse for you, and he even accompanied you to buy medicine," Harrison said angrily.

Adeline was about to explain when she caught sight of her colleagues looking curiously at them.

If she argued with Harrison here, it would likely become gossip among the employees for the next few months.

"Mr. Thomson, can we discuss this outside?" Adeline asked, her back tense.

Harrison seemed to realize her concern and said quietly, "Go."

Adeline pressed the button for the elevator.

When the doors opened, Harrison walked in.

Adeline followed.

The elevator wasn't spacious, and Adeline could keenly feel Harrison's displeasure.

Soon, the elevator stopped at the basement floor.

It was the underground parking.

Harrison walked to his car and said to Adeline, "Get in."

Adeline stood there without moving.

She said, "Mr. Thomson, about me and Mr. Hunter, I can explain. That night, something happened, and he helped me, so we chatted for a bit. There's nothing between us."

After a pause, she added, "Even if there was anything between Mr. Hunter and me, I would never disclose any company secrets. I still have professional ethics, so rest assured."
