Chapter 82: He Doesn't Deserve You
Seeing her like this, Archie smugly raised his eyebrows.
"So, Joyce, why don't you reconcile with me? Don't worry, I'll definitely treat you better than before," he said, reaching out to grab Joyce's hand.
"Don't touch me!" Joyce quickly dodged his grasp.
"What, I can't even touch my girlfriend's hand?" Archie smirked lewdly, attempting to touch Joyce again.
Just then, a figure suddenly rushed over and punched Archie in the face.
Archie was knocked down to the ground by the blow, cursing loudly.
Then, he covered his face and angrily exclaimed, "Who the hell hit me?"
Sam casually shook his fist and then delivered a kick to Archie's side.
"Me!"
Joyce hadn't expected Same to come charging over so suddenly.
"Mr. Juarez, what are you...”
Sam smiled at her and said,"Don't worry. I always intervene when I see injustice, especially in the name of saving a damsel in distress!"
Joyce was at a loss for words.
While Sam's actions were commendable, his words felt a bit awkward.
Archie got up from the ground, glaring at Sam.
He didn't know Sam and had no idea of his identity. In his eyes, Sam was just a pretty boy.
"Well, Joyce, is this your new gigolo?" Archie sneered, "He doesn' t seem better to me. Are you not reconciling with me just for him?
What, can he satisfy you in bed?"
Joyce was infuriated by his words, her eyes turning red with rage.
"Do you want to die? I'll make it happen today!"
With that, she began searching for bricks on the ground.
Sam's eyelids twitched, and he quickly pulled her away, saying, "I can't let a lady like you handle someone like him. Let me handle this."
"You dare to come again?" Archie arrogantly said, "I won't let it go until l beat you to a pulp today."
He thought he was caught off guard earlier, which was why Sam managed to knock him down.
But now he was ready. Sam was definitely not his match.
However, within minutes, Archie was knocked down by Sam.
Before leaving, Archie said in a threatening tone, "You better watch out!"
Sam smirked disdainfully, muttering, "Worthless scum."
As he turned around, he saw Joyce standing there, her eyes red, looking vulnerable.
Sam gently said, "Don't worry, I've already taught him a lesson.
If he dares to harass you again, just give me a call."
Joyce snapped out of it and punched the tree nearby.
"Archie, that bastard!" Sam was taken aback.
He suspected that the sense of "vulnerability" he just felt might have been his imagination.
"Mr. Juarez, thank you for helping me deal with him," Joyce thanked him.
"You're welcome."
After leaving the magazine office just now, Sam had just gotten into his car when he received a call.
He answered the call and didn't immediately drive away.
After finishing the call, he saw a man harassing Joyce.
He couldn't tolerate this.
Sam didn't seem to take the help seriously, but Joyce felt somewhat uneasy.
She wasn't very familiar with Sam, and he had just helped her out.
Should she express her gratitude?
"Well, Mr. Juarez...”
"Get in the car first," Sam hastily said.
Joyce didn't know why he suddenly wanted to get in the car, but when she looked around, she immediately understood.
Just now, she was too caught up in anger and disgust to notice that quite a few people had gathered around them, pointing and whispering.
Joyce didn't want to be the center of attention, so she reluctantlv got into the car with Sam.
After getting into the car, Joyce angrily cursed, "Despicable man! He cheated on me and dared to come and bother me. It's just shameless!"
Sam asked, "Was he your ex-boyfriend?"
"Yes, I was out of my mind back then."
Sam nodded in agreement. "Indeed, he doesn't deserve you."
When he said that, Joyce suddenly felt a bit flushed.
She coughed lightly and said, "Mr. Juarez, I owe you a favor. How about I treat you to a meal?"
Sam thought for a moment and said, "If you want to repay the favor, how about helping me out instead?"
"Of course," Joyce readily agreed, "as long as it's not anything illegal."
Sam chuckled, "Don't worry, I'm not into that kind of thing."
With that, he started the car.
Before long, the car stopped in front of a restaurant.
Joyce followed him out of the car and into the restaurant.
Before she could take two steps, she saw a woman happily standing up at a table by the window, waving to Sam.
But when she saw Joyce, the woman's expression immediately turned sullen.
Joyce had a vague sense of what was happening.
But since she had agreed to repay Sam's favor, she could only follow him over.
Sam walked straight to the table and sat down opposite the woman, patting the chair beside him and saying to Joyce, "Sit."
Joyce sat down resignedly, feeling the woman's gaze piercing through her.
"Mr. Juarez, who is she?" the woman asked in a coquettish tone.
Sam rested his hand on Joyce's chair and said, "Can't you tell? She's my girlfriend."
The woman's eyes turned red, and she choked out, "Mr. Juarez, how could you treat me like this? You know how much I like you..."
"Hey, let's stop right there." Sam raised his hand "Didn't we agree when you came to me that I could give you money, houses, cars, anything, but I wouldn't give you my heart? I said if I wanted to end it, it would end immediately. I even told you if you couldn't accept it, you could leave anytime, but you said you were willing to stay by my side."
The woman immediately said, "That was then, but things are different now! I didn't expect to fall in love with you."
"Come on, you can feed those lovesick young men that line, not me." Sam scoffed, "Do you love me or my money? You know the answer."
At his words, a hint of guilt flashed across the woman's face.
"You've gained quite a bit from being with me during this time. I advise you to know when to stop."
The woman wanted to argue, "But I still want to stay by your side. I.."
"My girlfriend is sitting right here, think carefully before you speak!" Sam said coldly.
The woman glared at Joyce again.
If Sam didn't have a girlfriend, she might have tried to argue more.
But now that he had brought his girlfriend in front of her, saying more might anger Sam.
