One night stand with my president(chapter 66)

Chapter 66: Being Jealous

Of course, Adeline didn't have a boyfriend.

If Russell had feelings for her, he should have drawn the line upon hearing that and clarified their relationship.

If she was just imagining things, that was fine too.

After all, she had no intention of developing anything with Russell.

So it didn't matter to her if Russell misunderstood and thought she had a boyfriend.

After saying this, Russell fell silent for a long time.

Adeline could feel Russell's unhappiness.

She felt a slight shock in her heart.

Russell actually had feelings for her.

After that, neither of them spoke.

Back at the clubhouse, Adeline thought Russell would leave.

Unexpectedly, he returned to the private room with her.

The room was still lively.

Harrison had been pulled away by Sam and seemed not to have noticed Adeline's return.

Eleanor sat alone on the sofa.

Her face was swollen, which made her look especially pitiful.

After some consideration, Adeline walked up to Eleanor.

"Ms. Fraser, I've brought back the ointment."

Eleanor took the ointment, smiling, "Thank you."

"No trouble" Adeline replied calmly. "Since there's nothing else for me to do, I'll be

leaving. Please let Mr. Thomson know."

"Ms. Hensley, planning to have some alone time with Mr. Hunter?" Eleanor teased.

Adeline's expression darkened slightly.

"Ms. Fraser, please don't make such jokes."

"I'm not joking." Eleanor blinked.

"Mr. Hunter treats you quite well. You two must be in a romantic relationship."

Her words were suggestive.

Adeline asked coldly, "Ms. Fraser, are you very familiar with Mr. Hunter?"

Eleanor was taken aback, then smiled, "Not very."

Russell was nearby. She couldn't lie blatantly.

"You're not very familiar with me either," Adeline said. "Since that' s the case, how can you assume our relationship based on such a short time together?"

Eleanor hastily said, "I didn't..."

"Ms. Fraser, being in the entertainment industry, you should understand the danger of rumors."

Eleanor gritted her teeth.

She wanted to shut Adeline up right then.

"No need to take it so seriously." Eleanor tossed her hair. "I was just joking."

She had just said she wasn't joking.

However, in a short while, Eleanor contradicted herself.

But she was an actress after all, so she looked calm as if nothing had happened.

Adeline couldn't be bothered and turned to leave.

Just then, a cold voice came from behind her. "Where are you going?"

It was Harrison's voice.

Adeline stiffened and turned to see Harrison standing behind her.

His gaze was fixed on her as if trying to see through her.

Adeline inwardly sighed and said, " Mr. Thomson, I was here to deliver documents. Now that the documents are delivered, and I have bought the ointment, can I leave now?"

At this point, she suddenly remembered something and took out a receipt from her pocket. Then she handed it to Harrison, saying,

"Oh, and here's the receipt for the ointment. Could you please reimburse me?"

After all, buying the ointment was Harrison's personal matter. She couldn't charge it to the company's expenses.

Harrison's lips moved. He was about to say something, but then he noticed that Russell was looking at Adeline with a fond gaze.

Harrison felt angry.

Adeline was waiting for Harrison to reimburse her, but he unexpectedly grabbed her wrist and said harshly, "You can't leave without my permission."

Adeline found him a bit unreasonable.

Their gathering today was probably to welcome Eleanor back from abroad.

Why did he insist on keeping Adeline here? What was the point?

Just then, Russell said calmly, "Mr. Thomson, why force the issue?"

Adeline felt a jolt in her heart.

She knew Russell was trying to help her, but his intervention might make things worse.

Indeed, Harrison's lips curled slightly, revealing a chilling smile.

"She's my secretary. I decide what she does, and you have no say."

Russell showed no sign of backing down. He even stepped forward, standing beside Adeline.

"She may be your secretary, but she didn't sign a contract selling herself to you," Russell said. "She has the right to do what she wants."

Harrison looked at him coldly.

Russell's gaze was unwavering.

Tension crackled between them.

Eleanor felt extremely annoyed.

She had a feeling that Harrison seemed to be jealous and competing with Russell for Adeline's attention.

She had never seen Harrison like this before.

However, she didn't know that Adeline was the last person who wanted to see these two men quarrel.

She hurriedly said, "Mr. Hunter, I'm fine."

Russell glanced at her and said, "Ms. Hensley, there's no need to endure."

His words only fueled Harrison's anger.

What did Russell mean by that?

Adeline was enduring?

Why did Russell think she was enduring?

"Harrison, if Mr. Hunter wants Ms. Hensley to leave with him, you should let her go," Eleanor added fuel to the fire.

She approached, held Harrison's arm, and said, "My face hurts so much. Can you apply the ointment for me?"

A trace of impatience flickered in Harrison's eyes.

But as he looked at Russell standing beside Adeline like a knight, Harrison inexplicably said, "Fine."

Adeline lowered her eyes and gently pulled her hand away from Harrison's grip.

"Then I'll leave, Mr. Thomson."

With that, Adeline turned and left without waiting for Harrison to respond.

Russell didn't immediately follow but said to Harrison, "Mr. Thomson, perhaps it's better to pay more attention to Ms. Fraser than to always try to restrict your secretary's freedom."

"Russell, my patience is wearing thin." Harrison was on the verge of losing his temper.

Russell remained unfazed by his threat and smiled, "I don't know what you're thinking. If you only see her as a secretary, there's no need to act this way. If you care about her, you shouldn't be getting angry at her after she almost got bullied."

With that said, Russell turned and left as well.

Harrison frowned slightly.

What did Russell mean by that?

When did Adeline almost get bullied? And he got angry at her afterward?
