One night stand with my president( chapter 102)

Chapter 102: She Doesn't Like Harrison

In the underground parking lot, the driver was already waiting by the car.

The driver opened the back door for Harrison. After he got in, Amber also tried to sit in the back.

However, Harrison said, "You sit in the front."

Amber froze for a moment but quickly composed herself and opened the front passenger door.

She could sense that Harrison seemed to be in a bad mood.

Amber thought, 'Is it because Adeline had turned down his invitation?'

She got into the front seat, buckled her seatbelt, and smiled slightly.

She didn't care who Harrison liked

Because she didn't like Harrison.

What she wanted was simply a better life.

Now that such an opportunity was in front of her, she wouldn't let it slip by.

Adeline wasn't lying to Harrison.

She had something to do. She needed to visit Lacey at the hospital.

When she arrived at the hospital and walked to Lacey's room, she saw Bianca sitting on a bench in the hallway, crying.

Adeline's heart sank. She quickly walked over and asked, "What happened? Did Lacey's test results come out?"

Bianca looked up at her with red eyes and said, "Adeline..."

In Adeline's memory, Bianca was rarely nice to her.

After all, whenever they met, they usually bickered.

Adeline's heart ached. She gently hugged Bianca and asked, "What did the doctor say?"

"The doctor said there's a tumor in my mom's brain," Bianca sobbed.

"But they can't tell yet if it's benign or malignant. What are we going to do? She's still so young and hasn't had a chance to enjoy life”

Adeline quickly ran through all the possibilities in her mind.

Her eyes reddened as she patted Bianca's back, trying to comfort her and saying, "Don't worry. It's definitely benign. Lacey will be fine. She said she wanted to see you and Oliver settle down. She wouldn't leave you two just like that."

Bianca nodded.

With Adeline's reassurance, Bianca felt much better.

"Where's Oliver?" Adeline asked.

"He's inside with my mom," Bianca said.

"She's been insisting on being discharged today. She had always worried about money, saving every penny..."

Adeline felt a pang of sadness.

Lacey had always been stingy with herself.

But she was generous with her children.

"Why don't you try to convince her to stay in the hospital for her to stay in the hospital for treatment? I think she'll listen to you," Bianca said.

"Alright."

Adeline stood up and walked into the ward.

Lacey was drinking porridge, with Oliver by her side.

"Adeline's here," Lacey said with a smile. "Good timing. Help me convince them to let me go home. There's nothing wrong with me, and staying in the hospital is such a waste of money."

"But I'm here to persuade you to stay,"

Adeline said, sitting by the bed with a smile.

Lacey looked at her in surprise.

"Adeline, you..."

"Lacey, please listen to us. To Bianca and Oliver, your health is the most important. If saving money means sacrificing your health, would they feel at ease spending that money?"

"But I'm fine. I know my own situation," Lacey said, trying to argue.

"Lacey," Adeline said with a wry smile. "If you were fine, they wouldn't make you stay in the hospital. They're your children, and they won't confine you here for no reason."

Lacey had no response.

Adeline continued, "I know you've scrimped and saved all your life to give your children a good life. But now that they're doing well, they also want to take care of you. You need to understand their feelings."

At Adeline's words, Lacey's eyes filled with tears, and Oliver's eyes turned red as he looked away.

"Alright, I'll listen to you," Lacey said, wiping her eyes.

"Adeline, have you eaten?"

"Yes, I have," Adeline lied.

In truth, she hadn't eaten and didn't have much appetite for dinner, but she didn't want Lacey to worry.

"That's good. You work so hard, you need to eat well and take care of yourself."

After a pause, Lacey added, "By the way, your father said he'd come by to visit me later."

As soon as Adeline heard that Mateo was coming, her face darkened.

"If he's coming, I'll leave now. I' I visit you again after he's gone."

"He is your father, after all..."

Lacey wanted to say more, but recalling what Mateo had done, she couldn't find the words.

"I've long since stopped considering him my father," Adeline said as she stood up.

Then she said to Oliver, "Call me after he leaves."

Oliver, not fully understanding, nodded obediently.

Shortly after Adeline left, Mateo arrived.

"Where's Adeline? Didn't she come to see you?" Mateo asked eagerly.

"So you came just to catch Adeline here?" Lacey said unhappily. "Isn't she your

daughter? How can you treat her like this?"

"What did I do to her?" Mateo said righteously. "I'm her father. Isn't it natural for her to do something for me?"

"Is that so?" Lacey snapped.

"Never mind, I don't want to argue with you. Adeline has had a hard life. Her mother died when she was young, and you've been a lousy father. If you care at all, stop bothering her and let her live in peace, alright?"

Mateo snorted and remained silent, his face full of resentment.

As Adeline left the hospital, a cold wind blew by, making her shiver.

She didn't have any specific plans and was about to go home and fix something to eat when Joyce called.

"Adeline! Are you off work? Have you eaten? Let's have dinner together!" Joyce sounded excited. " got, a bonus today, and I want to treat you to some sushi. I know a new restaurant, and it's supposed to be great."

"That should be expensive," Adeline said helplessly. "Why not come to my place? I'll cook for you."

"Don't worry, they're having a grand opening special. It won't cost much. It's settled then, I will send you the address. You have to come!"

Joyce hung up before Adeline could protest.

Left with no choice, Adeline checked the address Joyce sent and hurried over.

Meanwhile, at a restaurant nearby, everyone was stunned to see Harrison bring Amber along.
