One night stand with my president(chapter 57)

Chapter 57: She Refused to Yield

Aidan finally understood.

It turned out that all these troubles were caused by Kaylie.

At this moment, a servant had already brought over a stick.

The stick wasn't too thick, but it still made people's hearts skip a beat when they saw it.

"Dad, are you going to hit me?" Kaylie cried out in panic, "I'm your daughter."

"Shut up. Do you know how much effort and money I spent on this new plan? Now all of it is ruined because of you. If I don't hit you now, I'm afraid you will ruin the entire Hickman family!"

Karina felt distressed and quickly intervened, saying, "Our daughter was pampered. If she gets hurt, what will we do? She's our only daughter. Don't you feel distressed?"

Aidan sneered and pushed Karina away.

Karina only had one daughter, but he had several illegitimate children.

He had more than one heir besides Kaylie.

If Kaylie was useless, he could easily find someone else to replace her.

Aidan walked up to Kaylie with the stick in hand.

Trembling, Kaylie asked, "Dad, are you going to hit me? Do you just believe whatever Harrison says? I'm being set up by the women around Harrison."

Aidan ignored her and struck her back with the stick.

Kaylie let out a cry of pain but could only kneel, not daring to run away.

She understood Aidan's temper.

If she dared to get up and run, the outcome would only be worse for her.

"I don't care if you're being set up or not. But now Harrison is targeting the Hickman family

because of you. Have you lost your mind, daring to provoke the Thomson family?"

With red eyes, Kaylie said, "I didn't intend to provoke the Thomson family. I like Harrison. I just want to be with him. But he can't see my sincerity and only gets entangled with those lowly women."

Seeing her still talk back, Aidan became furious and struck her again.

Kaylie was knocked to the ground.

Karina hurried over, tears streaming down her face. "Enough. She can't handle this. She just likes Harrison. What's wrong with that?"

Aidan, panting, said, "Why must it be Harrison? If he liked you back, that would be fine. But he doesn't like you!"

"Kaylie, what did you do to make Harrison so angry?" Karina asked anxiously.

Kaylie's mouth opened slightly, but she didn't dare to speak.

If Aidan found out that she had someone drug Harrison, he would be even angrier.

"Does it matter? The fact is she's offended Harrison!"

Aidan then continued, "Starting today, you stay at home and don't meddle in company matters."

With that, he left in anger.

Karina quickly helped Kaylie up from the ground.

"Kaylie, does it hurt? Let's go back to the room. I'll apply some medicine for you."

Kaylie took a deep breath and said,

"Mom, you need to keep an eye on the company: Is Dad planning to bring his illegitimate children into the company?"

They both knew about Aidan's affairs, but they had chosen to turn a blind eye to them.

But now, Aidan was dissatisfied with Kaylie, and those illegitimate children might seize the opportunity to take over.

"Don't worry, I know about that," Karina said. "But don't get into any more trouble. There are plenty of good men in the world. You're the descendant of the Hickman family, and many talented young men will love you."

Kaylie sneered.

Good young men? How many could compare to Harrison?

Besides, Kaylie refused to yield.

Kaylie thought highly of herself and didn't know why Harrison did not even pay attention to her.

She thought, "But that's fine. As long as I remove all the women around him, he will be mine."

Eleanor was a celebrity, not easy to deal with.

It was better to deal with Adeline first.

Kaylie refused Karina's medicine, returned to her room alone, and started calling Millie.

In the evening, Adeline came to Lacey's house.

After ringing the doorbell, Lacey opened the door and smiled brightly upon seeing her.

"Adeline, there you're. Come on in."

As soon as Adeline entered, she smelled the aroma of food.

"I made a lot of dishes you love today. Dinner will be ready soon. Have some fruit first," Lacey said.

"Let me help you," Adeline said.

"No need. It's almost ready," Lacey said.

After chatting with Lacey, Adeline noticed they were the only two in the house. Her uncle and cousins were not around.

"Aunt, where are the others?" Adeline asked curiously.

"They have things to do and won't be back for dinner tonight," Lacey said casually.

Adeline didn't suspect her.

Lacey had always been good to her since she was young. When Mateo favored Millie, Lacey would secretly buy Adeline her favorite snacks.

Now, in Adeline's heart, Lacey was the most important family member.

After a while, Lacey brought out the dishes one by one.

All of them were Adeline's favorites.

Adeline hugged Lacey affectionately and said coquettishly, "Aunt, you're the best to me."

"You're still acting like a child at this age." Lacey's face was full of smiles as she said so.

Just then, the doorbell suddenly rang.

"Is it Uncle and the others back? I will open the door," Adeline said.

She walked to the door and opened it.

When she saw who was at the door, her eyes suddenly turned cold.

It was Millie.

"Adeline." Millie smiled ingratiatingly as soon as she saw Adeline.

"What are you doing here?" Adeline asked coldly.

"I'm here for dinner with Auntie." Millie looked aggrieved. "She invited me."

Hearing the noise, Lacey hurried over and said, "I invited Millie over for dinner. Adeline, if there' s any misunderstanding, just talk it out. We're all family."

Adeline immediately said, "I can't stay in the same room with her. Aunt, I'm leaving."

Lacey quickly grabbed her, saying, "Adeline, are you going to leave? At least stay for dinner. I made so much food."

"Aunt, do you know what she has done?" Adeline's voice trembled.

"She.."

"Adeline, I know l've wronged you before, and I regret it. I came here this time to apologize to you." Millie looked pitiful.

Lacey had no idea what had happened and had been misled by Millie, thinking it was just a minor issue.
